The leadership of the studio has a clear vision for the organization. Cleveland City Dance serves a mission of making dance available to all sorts of dancers. They go an extra mile to share the benefits of dance not only with the families and dancers at the studio, but beyond. For example, now that the intensity of Covid has lessened, dancers are performing again in community outreach settings in different parts of the city. She bilked money from families who simply wanted their daughters to learn the amazing sport of cheerleading and has now seemingly ran away and won't respond to any of our txts and messages. Here is my and many others story: My girl signed up to do the Brookside Jr Cardinals Cheer program with Trutek Dance Co. within the first week of flyers going out(First Week of April). We then were not informed of any practices, fundraisers, or possible uniform cost til May 31st. Come to find out other girls in the program had already started practice weeks prior. The director then seemingly would cancel classes without informing parents and was teaching my girl basic dances, not the chants and cheers need for sideline cheerleading. She moved location with no notification to the parents. She then abruptly asked for uniform money with just one practices notice , mind you with no fitting for the girls, in the last week of July. We stupidly gave the money for uniforms and have still never received either, my girls personal uniform or a refund for it. She has now held the Pom-poms that the Brookside Jr Cardinals program lent her to use for the season hostage. We then went calmly to her new studio on August 19th to request either the money or physical uniforms. She told us that she hadn't purchased them yet. We were then asked to leave her studio while she was in the meeting. Once we left we, the parents, called the police to mediate the situation. She either lied to us or the police because she told the police she was simply waiting on the uniforms to arrive. Why would we, the parents, call the police if we had been threatening her as she so claims. We simply want her to do the right thing and provide us with the physical uniforms or the money we paid for them. I also found out that she canceled a memorial/ celebration of life put on to help out a family a wonderful woman with less than two days notice. She still hasn't refunded the mourning family their money either. So in conclusion I would not recommend a company that has stolen from children and a non-profit organization(Brookside Jr Cardinals Cheerleading). Oh, and a mourning family. Shame on you!!

My entire family journeyed downtown to see Great Russian Nutcracker performed by Moscow Ballet with…read moresupport from En Pointe Danse. Marvelous, wondrous Christmas magic! Beautiful sets, Opulent costumes, Lyrical music and, of course, some of the best dancing on earth. My favorites were the little snowflakes and the tiny mice. They were so cute. Great job En Pointe Danse! The show was held at the Cleveland Public Auditorium which, though still beautiful, has seen better days. I wonder if there is a fund to cover costs of renovations? We bought our tickets on Groupon at a very reasonable rate. Downtown Cleveland was beautiful with all the lights, skating rink and bustle of people. Great to see so many folks out enjoying our great city! I believe Moscow Ballet comes every year. Next year...check it out and see our local talent as well. They will not refund for the recital that was wrongly charged for. They will not refund the card they mistakenly charged so the monies can come from me. They will not respond to me or let me know when money will be returned. Such a poorly managed business. I will never recommend a place that takes money from single parents that they are not owed. So I'm left a little over a month before Christmas paying for this recital that I don't have the money to pay for and they won't return the money. It's the right thing to do. I just don't get it. Do I have to beg for this money that you never should have taken? What do I have to do to get you to understand how wrong this is!!??

So I will list the issues I had. 1) On the first day that I took my 2 1/2 year old there were no signs saying what to do and there were no introductions from the teacher or owner, because of this my daughter missed the first 10 minutes because we were standing there trying to figure out what to do. 2) There is absolutely no way of seeing how your child is doing. There are no cameras or double windows. I don't know these people and a 2 1/2 year old doesn't understand if something inappropriate is happening. 3) The teacher and owner both have attitudes. I peaked into the room once and the week prior so did my husband to make sure she was ok. The teacher came out to tell me very snippily that I was disturbing her class. When I approach her and the owner afterwards she was beyond rude. I politely said I'm not trying to be rude or disturb your class but you have to understand you have my 2 1/2 year old behind close doors, I don't know you and I was never given an introduction to explain the rules and how the class is conducted. 4) The owner only communicates by texts. She sent me a 6 text message after the incident instead of calling me, and I was unable to respond at the time. Then the day before her next dance class, on a Sunday no less, she spent me another text saying she was sending me a refund and that I was not welcome back. All because I was putting my child's safety first. 5) The parking is her driveway and the first class she had the one class ending while the other was to being it was total chaos. I highly recommend that you consider a different place to take your children to learn to dance.
