I'd never tried salsa or tango before,…read morebut in half an hour he taught me several basic steps and had me absolutely hooked and ready to come back all December for more classes! Even though I initially felt awkward and out of place trying such intimate dance styles with a stranger, he was the definition of a personable professional and made me feel incredibly at ease! He was encouraging yet not over the top with praise (genuine) and the whole time was also giving me the history and background of both dances! Nika at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful too- ranging from helping me with a new mask to scheduling my next classes. Finally, every month or so they have a weekday casual social salsa dance. Pay 10 bucks, BYOB if you'd like, and dance the night away! It was at this dance- keep in mind I have had exactly one half hour salsa lesson in my life- where I had the great fortune of meeting the incredibly down to earth owner of Viva, Parker, and a friend, Miguel. Even though I warned them about my inability, BOTH gentlemen took time from the party to dance with me and made me feel like a first rate rock star! I was giggling the whole time and just had such a blast with this group of learner-friendly talented individuals. You must try this place out as they have multiple styles and levels of dance class both group and private. You won't regret meeting these passionate folks!

Everyone was so amazingly nice and open, and they are truly a credit to their craft. It takes a certain talent to teach a group of people how to dance, at all different levels and experience, and not make it intimidating. It was all about having fun and actually enjoying dance. During the social I was observing the room and saw how dance has brought together people of all different ages and backgrounds to just enjoy music, dance, and each other. Viva is truly a special place. They teach, encourage (and push you when you need it), all the time making it fun and and exciting. Thank you so much to Rebecca, Eddie, Parker, Nika and Roger for everything!

The studio itself is a bit tucked away and hidden in an old industrial building but prior to arriving the studio sent an email with a helpful video! Additionally, I didn't know the best class to drop into because I have been poling for a year but I messaged the studio and they recommended the "level" that would best fit me. So thanks again! There is an old-school freight warehouse elevator, and if you haven't been properly trained on how to use it, don't try. Call ahead and tell them you need help with it when you get there. If you come here more than once, its best to learn how to use it directly from them. I'm updating my review to reflect the transition from virtual classes to in-person classes. Cleveland Eclectic Dance is still fantastic! Their studio spaces have high ceilings, large windows, a big open concept and plenty of room to spread out safely. The minute you walk in, the instructor will warmly greet you and make you feel like part of the CED family. The best thing about Cleveland Eclectic Dance is that its a very supportive, loving and fun environment. My small dance class was an eclectic mix of all ages, ethnicities, body types and skill levels (which I loved). The instructor was equally attentive, accepting and welcoming to everyone, especially me as a newbie. I am so incredibly impressed with all of the wonderful women that run this studio! They genuinely care about your experience and want you to have an empowering, fun, and supported time learning new things and loving yourself as you are.

Keeping this one short and sweet. LOCATION -- Junker Fitness gym is on the main floor of an apartment building so residents who live there have free access to use the gym equipment. It is located right off of the Cleveland Shoreway (freeway) across from Edgewater Park. The actual neighbourhood name is called Detroit-Shoreway, I think, but it is also close to the Gordon Square neighbourhood of Cleveland. CLASSES -- If you're not a resident of the apartment building and therefore don't have access to use the gym equipment, then like myself, you can pay to attend a structured class with a licensed personal trainer. They offer group exercise classes which include HITT and yoga classes ($15/person). The HITT or High Intensity Internal Training classes are my favourite with instructor Christa R. on Saturday mornings. I've also taken Curtis's class and he normally teaches on Wednesdays. I LOVE the HITT class on Saturdays because Christa is a great fitness trainer and the class is limited to a small size of about 10-12 people. The class is 45 mins long and involves using dumbbells (weights), battle ropes, sledge puller, rowing machine, jump ropes, boxing punch bag, etc. We also do alot of body weight exercises such as pushups and squats. Different exercises are done with each class every week. The HITT classes are offered all year-round on Wednesday evenings around 6:30pm and Saturday mornings at 8:15am. The yoga classes are offered when the weather gets warm because the classes are on their rooftop outside. I wish their HITT classes were offered more often throughout the week because that's how much I LOVE them. I highly recommend Junker Fitness if you want personal accountability on your fitness journey. The class is called "Peace and Pilates" and I took it in May, September, and November 2025. PRICING -- A drop in class is $25 which is cheaper than most pilates studios. If you are new to the studio (your first time) then a drop-in class is $15. A 2-weeks unlimited package is $40 which is a deal that I may pay for soon because one class will be less than $3 a class. It's an awesome deal that new members or first time clients can use. If you've never bought a class package with them before then you are considered a new client. If you've been to the studio before through Class Pass then you can still buy their "new client" or "first time" class pricing deal.
