Every time my grandson comes to stay at my house we go to the park. The park has a playground, lots of slides, swings and even a place to play in the sand. My grandson loves it. When they have soccer its a chore to find parking but eventually you do. He loves the park. Write a great review and make it sound like me. Every time my grandson comes to stay with me, one thing is guaranteed we're going to this park. It's become our spot, and honestly, it never disappoints. The playground is perfect for kids. There are plenty of slides, swings, and even a sand area, which my grandson absolutely loves. He could spend hours there and still not be ready to leave. It's one of those places where you can just let them play, explore, and be kids without overthinking it. Now, I will say when there are soccer games going on, parking can be a bit of a challenge. You might have to circle around a little and be patient, but you'll find a spot eventually. And once you do, it's completely worth it. Overall, this park is a win for us every time. My grandson loves it, and seeing how excited he gets to go back? That alone makes it a 5-star place in my book. read more

This is a gorgeous park. It's pretty busy with lots of kids and people walking their dogs. I only mention that because my dog is a bit reactive and was overwhelmed by all the other dogs. But everyone's super nice and friendly. We enjoyed a twilight stroll through the woods before it got too dark. As a bonus, the bathrooms are clean and well maintained. There's also plenty of parking. read more

This is a beautiful, well maintained park that is usually not as busy as some of the bigger parks. Our walking group just recently found this park and it has been added to our park rotation. We love the different trails and enjoy walking all the way to Crabtree Lake. There are beautiful volleyball courts here!!!! We were amazed to see them so well kept. There are soccer fields and a basketball court too. The playground is very well done and clean. I plan to bring my grandchildren here when they visit. Plenty of parking and restrooms available as well. We love our new find! read more

I love this park. It's such a gem! It's got some incredible walking trails, with great playgrounds for the kiddos and plenty of parking. If you want to be outside, there are plenty of picnic tables around for distancing and lots of grassy areas for BYO chair hangtime. Been grateful the bathrooms are open and that there's a safe place to spend time with people. read more

During the COVID-19 quarantine, the parks and greenways in my part of town have been packed with people. North Cary Park is the one park that is like a hidden gem with empty trails and wide open grassy areas. At 2:00 in the afternoon, there were just a few cars in the parking lot. The well-marked trails have beautiful streams, bridges and benches. I think I'm being extremely generous by sharing this with my Yelp family because I have loved having this place all to myself! read more

It's a fantastic park. This is my first visit after more than a decade. It's like a mini version of William umstead state park or Eno River state park. The hiking distance is perfect for beginners. View on the trail is very beautiful. Playground, slides and swings are well maintained. The statue and rocks even remind me park in Washington DC. Glad to be back. read more

This a nice park, with covered picnic tables, a play area, and beach volleyball courts. Parking is plentiful, and there are restrooms too. Sometimes my boyfriend take a lunch there, sometimes sometimes just go hang out and relax. read more

The paved trails are quite nice taking you in and around the woods. I almost got lost the first time and started screaming I will survive! There are a few bridges crossing the creek passing through the area. Some wildlife around, I saw a hawk big enough that it could have picked me up by the collar and dropped me off at RDU airport for a connecting flight. Good path for exercising as it has some shaded parts by the trees keeping it cool during the summer. The restrooms were clean by park standards and has changing tables if you want to change your baby for another one (did you change the baby, no is still same baby). read more

Watch out for the Albino Lizards, it seems as they make this trip to the park upsetting for the children if they are minority. I've seen a couple children pushed from those of no minority as their parents do nothing. While also bringing their animals close to other minority children as their child plays. read more

I picked this as a place to start a bike ride. Not a good place foe that at all. Plenty of parking and it looked liked families were enjoying the park. read more

Reviewing parks is tricky, but the easiest way to do it (aside from cleanliness and safety) is to break it down into three categories: Kid-Friendly, Nature-Friendly, Sport-Friendly. The good news here is that North Cary Park checks the box on all three. There are two play areas with fun slides, soft padded play areas, and plenty of sand. Kids can have a good time here. It's also shaded and has shelters with bathrooms, so hot summer days seem more tolerable. There are trails, bridges, large open fields, greenway connections, lots of hills. It's very nature friendly and a good place to walk with the whole family or solo. Sand volley ball, soccer fields, faux-bouldering, and basketball make this a very sports-friendly site. The challenge here is that it can get crowded on the weekends and after work. If you want to play a quick game of any sort, prepare to battle the crowds. All in all, it's a great park and one that can entertain just about anyone. read more

This is a modest park, but it has all you'd really need in a park. Playgrounds for the kiddos, basketball courts and sand volleyball courts with lights to play when the sun goes down, access to the greenway for walking, running, and biking, a big field for soccer, football, etc., and picnic areas for parties. It's a relatively small park, so it can get crowded on nice weekend days, but it's usually not overly-populated. I'm definitely a fan, and frequent this park since it's close to where I live. read more

I love this park and the massive Greenway system attached to it. You can take an easy walk to Lake Crabtree on these trails. It would be 5 stars if it weren't for the complete lack of shade in the playground. My kids are older now, but it's gets too hot out there for little ones. I wish they would update the playground equipment, too. read more

My six-year-old son and I discovered North Cary Park this spring while our favorite playground at Marla Dorrel Park has been closed for refurbishment. North Cary Park includes a playground, picnic shelter, sand volleyball courts, basketball and tennis courts, soccer fields, paved walking trails that connect to greenways, and a couple of artificial climbing boulders. The playgrounds are extensive in area, though not in terms of climbing and other play structures. There is one pretty standard monkey bar type set up, a large sandbox with a digger, a small dollhouse, two slides built into hillsides, and some swings. The play areas are nicely spaced, and have benches around the perimeter. There is some shade around the perimeter, but the main play areas are largely exposed to the sun. The climbing boulders are the first of this kind I have seen. They are metal sculptures covered with a concrete paste, about 9' or 10' tall. There are a variety of holds, and each face of the "rocks" is at a different angle to vertical. They are surrounded by a cushy rubber mat so climbing is relatively safe. We have gone half a dozen times, mostly after school, but once or twice during the day on weekends, and there are usually nice kids around to play with, plus plenty of people using the other facilities. The parking lot is large, but still comes close to capacity when the soccer leagues are playing on Saturdays. An ice cream truck has cruised the parking lot several times when we have been there. For reasons unknown to me, my GPS, a Garmin, sends me about a mile down the road when I enter this address, which I confirmed against the sign at the entrance. I saved the parking lot as GPS coordinates to solve the problem. All in all a great park. The climbing boulders are very cool. I would probably give North Cary five stars, if we weren't so in love with Marla Dorrel's playgrounds. Families with older kids and adults looking for a nice place to walk might well give it five stars. read more

This is an awesome park for kids. They have two slides with lots of playground equipment. There are bathrooms right next to the playgrounds which is a plus. The sand volleyball courts are some of the best in the area. I always see people playing basketball and soccer as well. The park is a great place for the family. There's even a boulder for rock climbing. The area that surrounds it is matted for safety. read more
