She comes home happily exhausted. Berkshire Dogs Unleashed has been fantastic integrating dogs, of any age, size, and breed for socialization. Lea has also had grooming and regular nail trimming. She has been here since week 1 and her training with them was above and beyond expectation. They were also very proactive when kennel cough ran rapid twice last year and were able to prevent dogs from being affected. The staff that the Kohlenbergers hire treat the dogs (and their people) like family. Courteous and respectful. BDU had also made incredible strides for their community. They supported and held a fundraiser for a young, sick boy from Pittsfield who had to spend months in Boston....(#Carterstrong) At Christmas, they sponsor a giving tree for kids in need. No tag was left behind. Every child cared for. They have held a wonderful canine carnival fundraiser for BASK (Balance and Service K9s). Story book donations to Williams School. They even sent me a get well token after I had emergency surgery in February. More recently, (Berkshire Poodles with the Kohlenberger family) has donated several comfort dogs (18 to date) into all of Berkshire County. I can tell by this expression how much she enjoys the facility and the staff. In their constant photo shares, daily, you can see she's playing and engaging with others. See for yourself. They are more than happy to show you around. We trust them with a member of our family.

Then, they went back and got her in the morning and nurtured her while we were gone. I could not have asked for better care for Caroline. Then I go to pay and the staff felt so bad. I could not ask for any more care than they gave Caroline. Pawnal Pets is our "go to" pet hotel for a reason. They are amazing.

There are ways to get rid of tangles without hurting the dog. Lotions, sprays, and technique - starting at the end of the tangle and working down. But they couldn't be bothered. She hardly had any knots at all and I wound up with the WORST hair cut for my poor puppy. Not only that, but I found a huge wound by her ear that had to have been caused by the clippers. Who is inhumane? Cannot recommend these lazy non-artists.

What I mentioned previously is part of a pattern of problematic treatment spanning multiple years…read more Two years ago, my sister and I paid extra to have the vets come over for a herd check. Our houses are one door down from each other - 500 ft, driveway to driveway. We talked to the clinic and they said it wouldn't be a problem to go to her house first and then come over to mine. About a month in advance. Fast forward to the morning of the visit. All of a sudden they said they won't do this and that I will have to bring all my animals over. I had taken a half day off based on the original arrangement. So that morning I have to scramble, rearrange my work schedule, create a space in my sisters garage for them to see my animals, and take the dogs over in several rounds. Not professional and not kind. The opposite. Dr Blake CHORTLES with glee every time she recommends a dental. And gets mad if you decline! (Notes in all caps in the patient notes lol). Meanwhile when I asked for help in figuring out how to deal with my 15 year old senior's incontinence I got NO suggestions, no discussion of potential solutions, just a statement that meds don't work on male dogs. Guess the difference in standard of care is that one gets her a couple thousand dollars while the other one doesn't get her any money. And if you ask respectfully why they changed their minds at the last minute you get gaslit like you're the problem! Seriously. Go elsewhere. There are so many vet clinics in the region that will not gaslight you like this, who still value their word and their clients, and where the care is as good or better. YOU DESERVE TO BE TREATED WITH RESPECT and you will not get that here. They want your silent, unquestioning compliance and your money. That's all.
