This is Lea. Look at her eyes and her face. See the joy? BDU is her home away from home. She…read moreloves going to play and see her favorite people and the other "OG" dogs. She comes home happily exhausted. Berkshire Dogs Unleashed has been fantastic integrating dogs, of any age, size, and breed for socialization. Lea has also had grooming and regular nail trimming. She has been here since week 1 and her training with them was above and beyond expectation. They were also very proactive when kennel cough ran rapid twice last year and were able to prevent dogs from being affected. The staff that the Kohlenbergers hire treat the dogs (and their people) like family. Courteous and respectful. BDU had also made incredible strides for their community. They supported and held a fundraiser for a young, sick boy from Pittsfield who had to spend months in Boston....(#Carterstrong) At Christmas, they sponsor a giving tree for kids in need. No tag was left behind. Every child cared for. They have held a wonderful canine carnival fundraiser for BASK (Balance and Service K9s). Story book donations to Williams School. They even sent me a get well token after I had emergency surgery in February. More recently, (Berkshire Poodles with the Kohlenberger family) has donated several comfort dogs (18 to date) into all of Berkshire County. I can tell by this expression how much she enjoys the facility and the staff. In their constant photo shares, daily, you can see she's playing and engaging with others. See for yourself. They are more than happy to show you around. We trust them with a member of our family.

We will definitely be back soon:) Probably also do some private training for both dogs.

I called every vet in the area and no one could see him until mid July or August! I explained the severity of the situation. One vet hospital (that will not be named) said they couldn't help unless I paid - from what I understood- $200 just to walk through the door in addition to the exam, testing and meds. They suggested I try other area vets or drive to Deerfield. I was a Mess and Chuck was in pain. Then I called Pittsfield Vet hospital. Thank you Stephanie and for suggesting standby and Dr. Joseph Devereaux for seeing and treating my little Chuckie-dog with such kindness when everyone else refused to help us. He almost immediately appeared to feel relief yesterday and today he is almost back to himself . You are the best and I can't tell you how grateful I am. Thank you All so much!

BUT the business itself and way that the vets behave is abysmal. they will mishandle your animals and then blame you/give you awful misguided "advice" for their own liability reasons. hope this helps others avoid what we had to go through. nobody deserves to be treated that way whether human or animal.
