There's a great kids play area which was recently refurbished to keep it up to date with the times. There's also a big grass area where the kids can play a game of footie or you can throw down a towel and relax in the summer sun (while you can!) There are also picnic tables and benches where you can enjoy a quiet sarnie by the sea. There's even a small caravan site where touring caravans can set up camp and enjoy a stay at the shore for a minimal fee. The facilities of the camp site are currently being updated so hopefully this out of date and small camping area will be modernised to a quality, attractive area. Currently it is a one star park that accommodates six caravans and one tent.

This advertises as a caravan park but it has many dozens of static mobile homes including the one I was in which has 3 bedrooms and is about 40 foot long. It might number in the hundreds of statics. It has spaces for caravans too. It's right on the beach with great views of the Mourne mountains. Despite it being July it wasn't pleasant as the breeze was cool/damp and the beach itself is a mix of stones and sand. The site normally closes at the end of October annually and re opens in March annually but with the Wu flu it's only really re opening now. When it's in full swing it offers an on site shop, cafe and a mobile fish and chip van arrives to satisfy hungry campers. If this review disappears I won't write another.

This is still a great campsite. The lake, campfires being allowed etc etc…read more But on two occasions our visit has been marred by other campers being extremely loud. On this latest occasion, earlier, they had their own loudhailer to direct the party games they're playing. Now their bass heavy music is so loud two other groups of campers / caravaners just upped and left. We've got earplugs, so will persevere. Other things to note: firewood has gone from a bag being 3 EUR, to the option of a 4 EUR bag or a 5 EUR bag. The wood is pretty great though, for burning. I wouldn't come back again if it was just the two of us. But we will be back when other friends come here... like next week :)

I was meeting some friends…read morefor a week vacation in Ireland some time ago (has it really been 15 years? where DOES the time go?) and we decided to split the cost of the trip. I searched for months for lodgings that wouldn't charge by the person by the week but by the week alone. Finally, I came across Robertstown Holiday Village. Not only were they affordable but they accepted a down payment and payments well in advance of arrival. So that was a major plus. Upon getting set up, (I was the first one there, the others arrived later that night) the owner came by to see how everyone was doing. The property was right in the heart of Robertstown, with a pub/grocery store within walking distance, and the cottage we were booked into had a pond in the backyard. Couldn't be a better place to stay in all of Kildare, as far as I'm concerned. I recommend them to everyone, even 15 years later.

Secluded, crescent-shaped park in Marino. The Bram Stoker Park is a continuation of Fairview Park…read more(across the road) and is named after the writer himself, who was born at No. 15 at The Crescent. One could be forgiven for thinking this is a private park for the residents of The Crescent - it certainly has that look about it, and unlike the busy Fairview Park, very rarely has many visitors. The park is surrounded by a high stone fence which nicely blocks out the noise of passing traffic, so this park is actually a bit of a sanctuary from the surrounding commuter craziness. Great place to take a book and chill out... who knows, you may get the park all to yourself?

I randomly found this little sister, to Fairview, of a park one day when I was looking around the…read morenew neighborhood that I had moved to. At the time I didn't know the name of it nor that Bram Stoker had even lived in Dublin, much less just 15 minutes from where I had set up camp myself. Very near the intersection of a few main roads and just across from the Clontarf Road DART Station, this "semi-private" little park is surrounded by a stone fence high enough to block out most of the noise from the constant traffic of cars, buses and trucks.
