Someone from the company is always at hand (they cruise around on a motor boat) if you need any help, but you're left up to your own devices, so you can enjoy the views, get a bit of a workout, float for a while, take some great pics and even interact with people on the bridges. Great fun! Highly recommended. The price is more than fair (€25 pp), the staff was responsive, friendly and knowledgeable, and the process (from booking to kayaking) was a breeze .

Loved this little jaunt down the river with City Kayaking…read more It's so wonderful to see Dublin from an entirely new perspective, and that's what you get in spades when you kayak down the Liffey with these guys. You see snippets of views you've never seen before, framed in ways that make you rethink entirely particular areas around the river. You are also more likely to look up a lot which give you this most amazing view of the tops of the buildings that line the Liffey - they are old and grand and beautiful, unlike many of the shopfronts down on the ground floor, and this realisation alone was worth the trip for. On a practical level, the equipment is all top notch, the location is perfectly central, the price is decent, and the guide was just the most positive guy, bursting with enthusiasm, and a pleasure to be around. We did the evening kayak which is an hour and a half long - just about a perfect length. For me personally, I was over the rowing a little before this...!! But that's due to my short attention span and slightly overzealous tide! Highly recommended.

The scenery was breathtaking, and I appreciated having time to explore the Lower Lake. As a Deaf traveler, however, I have a few recommendations that would make the experience more accessible and less stressful. At Glendalough, it would have been very helpful to receive a printed walking map of the Lower Lake with the recommended route, estimated walking times, key landmarks, and the exact bus departure time clearly marked. Having this information in a visual format would have allowed me to explore with greater confidence without worrying about getting lost or missing the return bus. I also learned only after the tour that it was imperative to return to the bus on time because of government regulations governing the driver's schedule. Since I did not have access to the driver's spoken announcements, I was unaware of how critical the return time was. Learning this only after the tour caused unnecessary stress and anxiety during my visit. Overall, I greatly appreciated the warm hospitality and the bus driver/tour guide's wonderful sense of humor. However, for the price I paid, I did not receive an experience that was equitable to that of hearing travelers. Hearing passengers had continuous access to the driver's commentary, safety information, schedule updates, and important instructions, while I did not. With a few simple accessibility improvements--such as providing visual pickup and drop-off instructions in advance, offering real-time speech-to-text captioning for all onboard announcements, supplying printed maps and itineraries at each stop, and reserving front-row seating for Deaf passengers--this tour could provide a truly equitable and inclusive experience for Deaf travelers.

The low paid staff are a pleasant bunch recruited via agencies as they can be easier shafted than the Irish staff that were all shafted many years ago by managing director Mr Rothwell, who has literally skimmed many tens of millions of euro from this floating cash cow and is still in the trough. I very much doubt that he would eat the overpriced food served up here at breakfast or the ok coffee at about a fiver a cup. When you are ripping folks off you should at least offer a modicum of quality. No? Those who check you in and board you always do a great job and all are welcoming and courteous. The biggest irritation for me is that there's no free WiFi. Mr R as they say in Polish nieszczęśliwy krwawiący is a miserable bleeder.

Outstanding service from Irish Ferries - Dover to Calais…read more I had an absolutely amazing experience with Irish Ferries when traveling from Dover to Calais. While waiting to board, my car battery went completely flat after charging my phone with the car turned off. I went to the Irish Ferries office for help, and the manager went above and beyond to assist me. He first tried to jump-start my car, but when that didn't work, he offered to personally take me out of the port to buy a new battery. He drove me all the way into the city, waited while I got a replacement, and then even helped me change the battery using his own tools. You don't often meet people so genuinely kind and helpful. I'm incredibly grateful for his time and effort. it turned what could have been a stressful day into a really positive experience. Thank you so much to the Irish Ferries team at Dover -- truly exceptional customer service!

On the way, we had some bus trouble, which was unfortunate, but I will certainly not blame that on Irish Day Tours. In fact, I want to give them praise for the driver's attentiveness, making sure the passengers were safe, and the company being expedient in getting a new bus out to accommodate the rest of the tour. The Cliffs of Moher are one of the most beautiful sights I have ever laid my eyes on and we were blessed with great weather on this particular day. Sunny and not too windy (our visit was at the end of February but not sure how typical this is for that time of year). I believe we were allotted 1.5-2 hours at the Cliffs which we enjoyed every minute of. The stop in Doolin for lunch was charming and I was impressed with how quickly they were able to serve us. Unfortunately, we were not able to experience Galway on our tour due to the technical difficulties but I appreciate them being mindful of the schedule. I want to give particular praise to our driver and guide Kevin, who was absolutely fantastic in not only getting us there and back safely but is full of fascinating information on Ireland's history. As we continued to learn about Ireland over the course of the rest of our trip, I found myself wanting to ask Kevin his opinion on many topics. Thank you Kevin and IDT!

He was an older gentleman, so I understand the low energy but perhaps time to hang up his hat. As first timers to Ireland, I chose the Dark Hedges/Giants Causeway/Belfast tour because I was infatuated by photos of the Dark Hedges I saw online. I had no idea it looked NOTHING like it. It was really a waste of a stop. Giants Causeway was nice.. great photo op. It's a long walk downhill, then back up. Luckily, there was a bus that operates both ways for £1 (tap cards accepted ). We heard there was opihi in Belfast and found some along the way (we're from Hawaii). Super windy that day so we were getting flown all over the rocks. Only stop on the tour that was worth it. Next stop, Belfast City Centre. The tour guy dropped us off near City Hall with absolutely no direction. He told us about a mall nearby, but that's it. Anything worth seeing was already closed. I really wished he would've gave us more recommendations about what to do, where to eat, or anything worth seeing in the short amount of time we had there. After walking around City Hall, we walked to the mall to use the bathroom, stopped at a souvenir shop, then headed back. Total waste of time, again. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND! Sadiy, I purchased the tickets for this tour after the price had gone up about €10 from their 2025 prices. Tour was also supposed to end at 8pm but we got back by 7pm because he kept rushing us. They require you to have a student ID to get the discount but they never checked mine. I decided on the 5 day Celtic Rocker tour based on the limited time I had, but if I were to do it over again I probably would go with the 7 day that included Belfast and Northern Ireland. Everyone seemed to love that portion of their tour the most. The way this tour company works is that they join up the other tour groups and switch guides when you cross paths on the same route with another tour. We started out in a small group of 10 in Dublin, but ended up with about 20 more people meeting up in Galway. For a budget tour, I thought the sights and information provided to us by the local tour guides were excellent. We had Jaime and Gillian as tour guides and they were both excellent and offered great advice! It was mostly Aussies, Canadians, and Americans on this tour. Everyone became good friends which was aided on by all the fun social activities like pub crawls and nights out that everyone partakes in. Overall, really happy with my choice to book through Shamrocker. I hope to try their partner company´s tours in Scotland someday and in a few weeks will be going on the Busabout sailing tour of Croatia for 7 days.

Walking around Dublin city centre, besides the occasional sea gull, it's easy to forget how near…read moreyou are to the sea. The sea safari pushes these boundaries and takes you out the Liffey and lets you view Dublin from a perspective that most people miss. The craggy rough coast along Dublin is breathtakingly gorgeous. The sea safari runs tours from Malahide, as well as from the Docklands and gives you different touring options. The cost of the tour (€35) is a bit pricier than your standard dublin bus tour, but it's also much more exhilirating and definitely much more unique. During my tour we got to go into a sea cave, that despite being to the sea many times, I had no idea existed. There's also the opportunity to view all the sea life that live in Dublin bay, like seals and porpoises. The ride is not for the faint of heart though as the wind blowing in off the sea can cause the water to be quiet choppy, but when operated right the rigid inflatable boat is quite smooth. You are also provided with all weather gear that protects you from the wet and cold, though I would suggest bundling up with as much layers as possible. If you've been to Dublin before and are looking for something a bit different, or you love the sea and a bit of adventure this tour is definitely for you!
