Our guide and driver were professional and mostly kind. We learned a lot about Irish history from Aaron and felt safe being driven by Stipe. I would have liked to know more about some of the specific things/places we saw as we saw them while driving in the country (I.e. ruins, stone walls, interesting mountains, the beaches, or the little walls) but in return learned so much about Ireland and its rich history. If you're even thinking about doing the Cliffs of Moher + Galway tour with Wild Rover, just book it. We had Michael driving and Aaron as our guide, and that combo absolutely made the day. Michael somehow got us everywhere in record time without it ever feeling rushed, which meant we had more time at each stop. On a 12-hour day, that matters. Huge credit to him for making the logistics feel effortless. Aaron was the real glue of the experience. Last Sunday, Gayle and I became "those old people" who piled on big tour buses for a day long adventure into the Irish countryside. We had 3 stops: A Sheep Dog demonstration at a local farm, the Glendalough Monastic Site, and Kilkenny Castle. It was a long and rainy day, with 2 key logistical challenges: - Customer pick up in Dublin with many roads closed due to that morning's marathon. - The large Kilkenny food festival held over the Bank Holiday weekend. This made parking challenging and decent walk into town required. Both our tour guide (John) and bus driver (Krishna) were superb. John's dry humor, kindness, and deep knowledge kept us mostly at the edge of our seats, while we were completely safe as Krishna got us where we needed to go. Both were also very patient when dealing with Dublin PD, who were already marathon stressed. One bonus was that the Kilkenny Food Festival had a lot to offer and was a lot of fun. Gayle and I also enjoyed walking around the green space near the Kilkenny Castel. The rain made seeing Glendalough a bit more difficult, and the Sheep farmer was great. As were wrapping up, we almost took up John's offer to take the Wild Rovers tour bus to Belfast the next day. But alas, we had other plans. Otherwise, we'd hop on one their buses within a New York minute. read more

The BEST experience we had in Dublin! I booked the Cliffs of Mohr/Wild Atlantic Way/Galway tour and boy, did we have a good time!! Mahalo to the best crew in the business - Steve-o (driver), Dave (Guide) and Dolly (bus mascot)! Oh, the laughs we had all day long! So informative, so personable, and extremely FUN! At the beginning of the tour, Dave clearly explained what the day would look like for us. He provided strict instruction on keeping with the schedule, cleanliness, and respecting one another. We all appreciated the organization and clarity! For each stop, he provided clear instruction on entry, on and off times, the history of each stop, and what to keep an eye out for while touring. The cliffs were amazing! Wild Atlantic Way drive was gorgeous. He pointed out fairy trees, fairy horses, so many features and stories unique to Ireland along the way. In Galway, he told us where to eat, what foods to try, where to find specific items like Aran wool and the Irish harmonica. So we'll put together. He even had a matching music playlist! Steve-o was awesome. He knew where every person in the bus was from and waddress them by their hometowns. It was epic! We had front row seats and loved watching this guy in action. So animated! We booked a day tour to the Cliffs of Moher/Galway and like it so much we booked a tour to Kilkenny/Glendalough at the end of our trip to The Cliffs of Moher. We got 10% off this tour as we had just completed a tour to The Cliffs of Moher/Galway Kevin was our tour guide and Stipe was our driver for our tour to The Cliffs of Moher/Galway. Kevin was quite entertaining and provided great insight to the history of The Cliffs of Moher and the city of Galway. He was very good at trying to meet and talk to every family on the bus. He gave a nice 20-30 minute walking tour/history of Galway. He had good recommendations of places to eat in Galway as well as when we came back to Dublin. The Cliffs of Moher was very pretty and the visitor's center was large with interactive displays and big gift shop. There is also a cafe at the visitor's center and more shops outside of the visitor's center. The City of Galway is a harbor city where the River Corrib meets the Atlantic Ocean. Galway's city center is surrounded by shops and traditional pubs that often offer live Irish folk music. Nearby, stone-clad cafes, boutiques and art galleries line the winding lanes of the Latin Quarter. Ian was our tour guide and Dermont was our driver for our tour to Kilkenny/Glendalough. Both were great! Ian had great historical knowledge of the area were went to (Kilkenny, Glendalough and Cullen Sheep Farm). At Kilkenny and Glendalough, Ian our guide provided a brief 20-30 minute walking tour (optional) to give use some history of areas. Glendalough is very picturesque where you can get some beautiful pictures of the countryside and there is also a Christian cemetery with old ruins of the monastery, priest's house, St. Kevin's Church and the Round Tower. The sheep farm was a nice addition where you get to see a sheep herding demonstration, pet sheep and if you are there at the right time, hold a baby lamb. Both tours by Wild Rover Tours were excellent if you are looking for single day tours out of Dublin. read more

And Pete, on top of being a talented driver had a great bit of banter and recommendations for weary tourists hoping to enjoy some local pubs/bites off the beaten path. We had one of the best tours of our life last week. The tour went to Belfast, Dunluce Castle, and The Giant's Causeway. As with any tour company, a tour can be mediocre or phenomenal based on the tour guide; we were fortunate that Wild Rover Tours hired our tour guide. Our guide Daithí (pronounced "daw-hee", and hopefully I spelled his name somewhat correctly) and the bus driver Colin had a great rapport. The entire time my family and I felt comfortable, safe, and in good hands with those two. The bus was very punctual, and Daithí did his best to make sure everyone knew where and when to get picked up for the next location. The stories Daithí told along the ride were amazing, and we were cracking up in the back of the bus most of the time-- plus he played us some good music by Irish bands, which was a really nice touch. He even got Colin to sing us a song on our way back, which was lovely and heartwarming. We visited Titanic Belfast (cool museum and really well done), Dunluce Castle (surprise hit for us, randomly), and The Giant's Causeway (perhaps the prettiest but ended up being our least favorite). We stopped for a toilet break and coffee/snacks before Belfast, and we had an opportunity to eat a late lunch at a pub beside The Giant's Causeway. Note: you can't go into The Giant's Causeway museum without paying something like €13.50, and they won't even let you into the gift shop without paying-- how ridiculous is that? We were going to get a few t-shirts and souvenirs but opted to skip the gift shop altogether because it would have cost my family €54 just to enter the gift shop! Anyway, the Wild Rover tour was incredible. We learned a lot about Irish history, some of the conflicts along the way, and how Irish artists and musicians have made an impact across the globe. I highly recommend Wild Rover Tours, and I hope everyone can get a tour guide as awesome as Daithí. read more

The bus and guide were great. The organization could use some help so here are my comments: 1) put a sign in the front windows saying Wild Rover and the tour description. I don't always memorize bus details. 2) give the walking tour guide a) an umbrella or some thing so we in the back of 20+ people can be sure that we are following the right person. b) a system that broadcasts to devices in the client's ears so we can hear better and so the guide can talk to us while walking so we can learn more. c) give them some safety training so that they ensure that all the clients have safely crossed an intersection and to wait for those caught by a red light d) be attentive to the slowest walkers so they stay with the group. A broadcast system would help with c) and d) as well. read more

I didn't expect the wealth of knowledge Josh, comedy that I love, and great food suggestions in all locations to optimize the trip. The stops at the rest room, and leaving sharply so we can maximize the day. The buses are early in the morning waiting at hotel, no hot food but they allow hot beverages McDonalds might be near by just go earlier they are a little slow. Take snacks to minimize waiting on long lines at Moher, it's windy take warm clothing and hats not baseball they can fly. No regrets on trip I would do it again and recommend to anyone coming. Matt and Joe are a wonderful combination of people who should be paired together indefinitely for this specific tour. Joe was a great driver and even though his role isn't about charisma per say, he was very friendly whenever I spoke to him personally...especially as I was panicking about not having enough time to use the restroom at the end of our tour. Matt was so engaging and fun to listen to the whole day! I was always looking forward to his stories and what he had to say. Not only does his voice sound like music, he speaks with the charisma and passion of a true Irish man. I felt like even though we were going to a lot of heavy tourist spots where I met more foreigners than Irish people, he gave me the Irish cultural experience I was craving. For me, visiting new places is about getting to know the people who live there, and listening to Matt felt like talking to a true local. He had incredibly captivating stories, one after another, and often intergected lots of humor along the way. It was a pleasure listening to him. I also loved that he said he would be happy talking to anyone one-on-one (for up to 10 mins at a time haha) and it was a blast chatting with him. I don't know how he mustars all of the emotional energy for a whole bus of people, but I'm extremely grateful that he does. Truly, he's very talented at what he does and has a genuinely kind and warm character. At one point, he had to correct me because I was video recording him--I didn't know I wasn't allowed to--and he had to ask me to stop, but he was so polite about it that I didn't mind at all, especially since he made sure to cover his microphone before quietly whispering to me that I should take an audio instead. I know this seems like a minor detail, but for me, it was a very nice gesture/accommodation and didn't stop me from gaining the full experience I was looking for. It reminded me of how I correct my students as a teacher and it felt like a warm hug. My only recommendation for the tour to improve would be to give less time at Mohen and more time in Galway. My boyfriend and I only had enough time to eat at a The King's Head nearby the bus in Galway, which was AMAZING (get the ribeye, clam chowder, and oysters), but it didn't make me feel totally fulfilled. Like I said earlier, my favorite part of traveling is enjoying talking to the locals and striking up random conversation. So, you can imagine that I felt a bit disappointed when I ran out of time to fully engage in a conversation with a local who displayed his artwork at a coffee shop nearby King's Head. If it weren't for my boyfriend insisting that we leave, we might have missed the bus departure time! We made it thankfully...but BARELY!! Overall, I sincerely loved the depth of Matt's storytelling and love of Irish history. I have done many tours in various countries at this point, but Matt was a true pleasure to listen to. So much passion and enthusiasm. I would highly recommend this tour! I would give it 10 stars if I could. read more

Dave was very friendly and enthusiastic during the tour which definitely made us laugh and appreciate the long ride. Darran was pleasant and skilled driver. We booked a Wild Rover tour to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway yesterday, and had such an amazing experience. Our driver, Stephen, and our guide, Daithi (DAH-hee), were incredible. Stephen expertly navigated the huge bus along the narrow coastal roads like a pro. The man parallel parked a BUS!! Most impressive. Daithi was a natural-born storyteller. Treating us not only to his deep, melodic, Irish-accented voice (he could easily be a voice actor or an audio book narrator... for *ahem* .... spicier stories) but also to beloved stories of his grandmother, and tales of the history and people in the places we visited. Also worth mentioning, was Daithi's killer taste in music, sharing stories to go with each carefully chosen song he played for us, while on the road. The views were breathtaking, the tour was amazing, with several stops along the way. Galway was a colorful and fun stop. We found the best fish & chips I've ever had. I strolled the streets, stopping into the Aran wool shops, bookstores, and watching street performers, while my husband and his brother enjoyed a pint at a nearby pub. If you are prone to motion sickness (as I am), I'd recommend taking your chosen medicine before hopping on the bus. The roads are narrow and winding, and can induce a bit of nausea. Also, if your friends and family make fun of your small bladder, please note there is no toilet on this bus, so don't chug a coffee right before you board. I would highly recommend Wild Rover and especially Daithi and Stephen. Both were always friendly, welcoming, and smiling. They made our day incredible. read more

Went with 13 friends on a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher and Galway driven by Paulo and led by Niamh. We had a wonderful time! It was great being able to see the rural, true country of Ireland on the drive and learn about the history. I wish we had more time in Galway, but it's a good reason to come back. We had a wonderful time exploring Northern Ireland with Dahi and Billy! Dahi took such great care of us, was very informative, and very entertaining! If you only have a few days in Ireland, and you want to see all the amazing things up North- then this is the tour for you! We left Dublin early in the morning, and headed up North. It wasn't a far drive to Belfast, and it was interesting to cross the border. We did the Black Cab Tour where we learned about oppression between the Protestants and Catholics, and how they're segregated by a wall each evening. We couldn't really understand our driver, but he did his best. We got dropped off to Titanic to meet the rest of the group, then headed to Dunluce Castle, and Giants Causeway. Both were beautiful spots. We ate at the Nook and had delicious Irish food, then headed back to Dublin. All in all, money and time well spent! Happy Journeys read more

I also went to Belfast the next day with the tour group. My forst trip we had Neive as out tour guide. She was very knowledgeable. On my second tour I had Kevin (Tour guide) & Marcin (the driver). They were all great! I highly recommend this tour group. They are reasonably priced. They run a tight ship with time & it starts from early moring until about 7:30pm depending on the type of tour you choose. read more
