Niamh and Billy are the best duo. The day didn't feel like a 13-hour day because of how Niamh breaks up sharing stories, pointing out sites and tying them to songs. Loved learning about history and culture from Niamh. Learned so much and now have a better appreciation for the Irish history. Billy's driving is so smooth- as a person who gets motion sickness, I appreciated his driving skills. Both are very nice. Loved Niamh clarity for expectations. The Cliff of Mohrs is beautiful and wish we had more time at Galway. Definitely a nice way to see the countryside and another town in Ireland. read more

Our guides were all wonderful--very knowledgeable and friendly. It was great to pay for everything upfront and not having to worry about securing tickets to the attractions. We also appreciated not having to drive ourselves everywhere; it made the trip so much easier! The downside to not driving ourselves was being on someone else's schedule. We really could've used another hour in Kilkenny; if we could change anything, we would skip the walking tour to have more time in Kilkenny Castle and exploring more of the city. Also, the WiFi on the buses barely, if ever, worked. That's not a huge deal, except we were really trying to rely on WiFi and not paying extra for our cellular network while we were abroad. read more

An Amazing Galway & Cliffs of Moher Tour! Matthew and Kara were absolutely fantastic! Matthew was an amazing tour guide and Kara was an efficient but safe bus driver. From start to finish, they made the entire Galway and Cliffs of Moher tour feel effortless, organized, and so much fun. They got us everywhere on time, gave very clear instructions, and shared so much interesting history along the way. Matthew was also hilarious, kind, and incredibly personable, which made the long stretches of the drive fly by (but also didn't talk our ear off. His voice was soothing too!) One of the best parts was their recommendations for our two-hour stop in Galway. Every recommendation they gave us was 10/10! We got to spend our limited time actually enjoying Galway--shopping, eating, and exploring--instead of wasting time scrolling through reviews trying to figure out where to go. It made such a difference. We also had plenty of time at the Cliffs of Moher, and the whole day felt very well paced. There were enough breaks for food and bathroom stops, and they even made sure the bus stayed clean throughout the trip. You can really tell that Matthew and Kara care about giving people a great experience. They were professional, funny, thoughtful, and made the day so enjoyable. If you're considering this tour, DO IT--and if you get Matthew and Kara, you're in for an especially great day! read more

Went to cliff of Moher and Galway with the Wild Rover Tours and I highly recommend! Our tour guide was Dáithí (David in Irish) and our bus driver was Casper. We were picked up from Dublin, Ireland. Big shout out to Dáithí for excellent communication, great story telling of Ireland's history, and excellent shop and restaurant recommendations. Also, thank you Casper for making the ride smooth and efficient! Our bus was completely full. Therefore, we were assigned seats by groups. So that was our seat for the entire duration of the trip. Food and drinks were allowed on the bus, but note that hot food is not allowed as it leaves behind odors. We made a pit stop there and back, with 15 minutes each time. You can use the restrooms, stretch, and replenish on snacks and beverages. The cliffs of Moher were beautiful. Luckily, we went in the beginning of August and the weather was great. There was no fog, making everything visible. You are given two hours to eat and explore. Galway was a great experience as well. Dáithí announced a great amount of shop and restaurant recommendations based on different tastes and budgets. When we parked at Galway, he even walked into the streets with us and had us tell him where we wanted to go and he gave us instructions of how to get there. Overall we highly enjoyed and recommend visiting the cliffs of Moher and booking with Wild River Tours for hassle free traveling through the beautiful coast of Ireland! Thank you again Dáithí and Casper!!! read more

If you're even thinking about doing the Cliffs of Moher + Galway tour with Wild Rover, just book it. We had Michael driving and Aaron as our guide, and that combo absolutely made the day. Michael somehow got us everywhere in record time without it ever feeling rushed, which meant we had more time at each stop. On a 12-hour day, that matters. Huge credit to him for making the logistics feel effortless. Aaron was the real glue of the experience. He actually knew what he was talking about and didn't just recite facts -- he added personality, humor, and context that made everything stick. When you're spending that long together on a bus, the vibe is everything, and he nailed it. We lucked out with amazing weather at the Cliffs -- cold, but crystal clear visibility. We hit both viewing areas (even with restoration work going on), and it still felt expansive and worth every second. Pictures don't do it justice. Galway was a blast. We had about two hours in the city center, which was enough to explore, grab food, and soak up the energy -- though honestly, I could've stayed all day. The recommendations we got were spot on. The pacing was great, the bus was as comfortable as it realistically can be for a full-day tour, and it never felt chaotic or disorganized. I would 100% recommend this to first-time visitors to Ireland and honestly even to people coming back who want a seamless, well-run way to see the west coast without thinking about logistics. Michael and Aaron -- absolute pros. read more

Highly recommend, to be specific...Matt (host/guide) and Krishna (driver)! Excellent driver and wonderful history and stories!

This was an absolutely fantastic tour of the Cliffs of Moher and Galway! The scenery was breathtaking, and getting to experience the Cliffs of Moher in person was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Ireland. Galway was also a great stop and gave us a wonderful chance to experience more of the beauty and character of Ireland. Our tour guide, Padhraig, was excellent -- funny, personable, and full of interesting stories and information that made the long day fly by. One of the coolest coincidences was finding out that he had actually lived in the same city I'm from for a brief period of time! It made the experience feel even more personal and gave us something fun to connect over. The tour was well organized, enjoyable from start to finish, and Padhraig really made the day special. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Ireland. The Cliffs of Moher and Galway are must-see destinations, and this tour was a fantastic way to experience them! read more

Last Sunday, Gayle and I became "those old people" who piled on big tour buses for a day long adventure into the Irish countryside. We had 3 stops: A Sheep Dog demonstration at a local farm, the Glendalough Monastic Site, and Kilkenny Castle. It was a long and rainy day, with 2 key logistical challenges: - Customer pick up in Dublin with many roads closed due to that morning's marathon. - The large Kilkenny food festival held over the Bank Holiday weekend. This made parking challenging and decent walk into town required. Both our tour guide (John) and bus driver (Krishna) were superb. John's dry humor, kindness, and deep knowledge kept us mostly at the edge of our seats, while we were completely safe as Krishna got us where we needed to go. Both were also very patient when dealing with Dublin PD, who were already marathon stressed. One bonus was that the Kilkenny Food Festival had a lot to offer and was a lot of fun. Gayle and I also enjoyed walking around the green space near the Kilkenny Castel. The rain made seeing Glendalough a bit more difficult, and the Sheep farmer was great. As were wrapping up, we almost took up John's offer to take the Wild Rovers tour bus to Belfast the next day. But alas, we had other plans. Otherwise, we'd hop on one their buses within a New York minute. read more

We booked a day tour to the Cliffs of Moher/Galway and like it so much we booked a tour to Kilkenny/Glendalough at the end of our trip to The Cliffs of Moher. If you book 2 tours with Wild Rover Tours, you get 10% off your second tour if booked together. I believe you get a large discount if you book 3 tours at the same time with them. We got 10% off this tour as we had just completed a tour to The Cliffs of Moher/Galway Kevin was our tour guide and Stipe was our driver for our tour to The Cliffs of Moher/Galway. Kevin was quite entertaining and provided great insight to the history of The Cliffs of Moher and the city of Galway. He was very good at trying to meet and talk to every family on the bus. He gave a nice 20-30 minute walking tour/history of Galway. He had good recommendations of places to eat in Galway as well as when we came back to Dublin. The Cliffs of Moher was very pretty and the visitor's center was large with interactive displays and big gift shop. There is also a cafe at the visitor's center and more shops outside of the visitor's center. The City of Galway is a harbor city where the River Corrib meets the Atlantic Ocean. Galway's city center is surrounded by shops and traditional pubs that often offer live Irish folk music. Nearby, stone-clad cafes, boutiques and art galleries line the winding lanes of the Latin Quarter. Ian was our tour guide and Dermont was our driver for our tour to Kilkenny/Glendalough. Both were great! Ian had great historical knowledge of the area were went to (Kilkenny, Glendalough and Cullen Sheep Farm). At Kilkenny and Glendalough, Ian our guide provided a brief 20-30 minute walking tour (optional) to give use some history of areas. Glendalough is very picturesque where you can get some beautiful pictures of the countryside and there is also a Christian cemetery with old ruins of the monastery, priest's house, St. Kevin's Church and the Round Tower. The sheep farm was a nice addition where you get to see a sheep herding demonstration, pet sheep and if you are there at the right time, hold a baby lamb. Both tours by Wild Rover Tours were excellent if you are looking for single day tours out of Dublin. read more

Elisa was a fun and energetic guide! Brought a bright smile throughout our trip to Wicklow and Kilkenny, and provided several recommendations for our time in Dublin as well. And Pete, on top of being a talented driver had a great bit of banter and recommendations for weary tourists hoping to enjoy some local pubs/bites off the beaten path. Not to mention, they navigated us safely through mild flooding on a rainy day with minimal interruption! Everything went smoothly, and they were able to pivot on a dime to shift itinerary so that we could enjoy the mountains and city without getting too wet. P.S. I was skeptical about the sheep dog trials, but they ended up being one of the highlights of my trip! Adorable! read more

Enjoyed Rory and Raymond as our guide and driver. We nice, friendly and knowledgeable people. Cool to see Dunluce Castle. We loved hiking the red trail at the Giants Causeway. We had one of the best tours of our life last week. The tour went to Belfast, Dunluce Castle, and The Giant's Causeway. As with any tour company, a tour can be mediocre or phenomenal based on the tour guide; we were fortunate that Wild Rover Tours hired our tour guide. Our guide Daithí (pronounced "daw-hee", and hopefully I spelled his name somewhat correctly) and the bus driver Colin had a great rapport. The entire time my family and I felt comfortable, safe, and in good hands with those two. The bus was very punctual, and Daithí did his best to make sure everyone knew where and when to get picked up for the next location. The stories Daithí told along the ride were amazing, and we were cracking up in the back of the bus most of the time-- plus he played us some good music by Irish bands, which was a really nice touch. He even got Colin to sing us a song on our way back, which was lovely and heartwarming. We visited Titanic Belfast (cool museum and really well done), Dunluce Castle (surprise hit for us, randomly), and The Giant's Causeway (perhaps the prettiest but ended up being our least favorite). We stopped for a toilet break and coffee/snacks before Belfast, and we had an opportunity to eat a late lunch at a pub beside The Giant's Causeway. Note: you can't go into The Giant's Causeway museum without paying something like €13.50, and they won't even let you into the gift shop without paying-- how ridiculous is that? We were going to get a few t-shirts and souvenirs but opted to skip the gift shop altogether because it would have cost my family €54 just to enter the gift shop! Anyway, the Wild Rover tour was incredible. We learned a lot about Irish history, some of the conflicts along the way, and how Irish artists and musicians have made an impact across the globe. I highly recommend Wild Rover Tours, and I hope everyone can get a tour guide as awesome as Daithí. read more

The BEST experience we had in Dublin! I booked the Cliffs of Mohr/Wild Atlantic Way/Galway tour and boy, did we have a good time!! Mahalo to the best crew in the business - Steve-o (driver), Dave (Guide) and Dolly (bus mascot)! Oh, the laughs we had all day long! So informative, so personable, and extremely FUN! At the beginning of the tour, Dave clearly explained what the day would look like for us. He provided strict instruction on keeping with the schedule, cleanliness, and respecting one another. We all appreciated the organization and clarity! For each stop, he provided clear instruction on entry, on and off times, the history of each stop, and what to keep an eye out for while touring. The cliffs were amazing! Wild Atlantic Way drive was gorgeous. He pointed out fairy trees, fairy horses, so many features and stories unique to Ireland along the way. In Galway, he told us where to eat, what foods to try, where to find specific items like Aran wool and the Irish harmonica. So we'll put together. He even had a matching music playlist! Steve-o was awesome. He knew where every person in the bus was from and waddress them by their hometowns. It was epic! We had front row seats and loved watching this guy in action. So animated! He'd do this "snap to the air" every time we'd go through a toll booth. Hilarious! It really goes to show how a GREAT tour guide and driver can make or break your experience and we really lucked out! Josh and Marcos were amazing, this experience was better than I expected. I didn't expect the wealth of knowledge Josh, comedy that I love, and great food suggestions in all locations to optimize the trip. The stops at the rest room, and leaving sharply so we can maximize the day. The buses are early in the morning waiting at hotel, no hot food but they allow hot beverages McDonalds might be near by just go earlier they are a little slow. Take snacks to minimize waiting on long lines at Moher, it's windy take warm clothing and hats not baseball they can fly. No regrets on trip I would do it again and recommend to anyone coming. I'm writing this review on the way back. Do not book with this tour company. Especially if there is a guide named Steve O, cancel your booking. * We arrived specifically at 5:30 and first at queue. Even though there was no reservation system, he put a "reserved" sign on the first 8 seats and did not let us sit there. * After that, he handpicked a group of 4 American people and told them "you don't ask too many questions," and arranged the seating plan accordingly. These people had no health/age related issues. * On top of that, we joined this tour to see natural locations, learn about castle, heritage site, but instead he kept talking about IRA propaganda and his personal stories on conflict 95% of the tour. At one point, he even went as far as claiming that the IRA killed fewer civilians than loyalists, which felt completely unprofessional. Tour company keep protecting this attitude instead of resolving issues as customer focused. Other issues: * The WiFi did not work properly * Stopover locations are just gas station on the road. They stop in small villages on Scotland Highland Tours. * The Belfast tour section felt rushed and poorly handled by the guides The only good thing was that the locations themselves were naturally beautiful. With a different tour company, this experience could have been much better. Afterwards I also saw that many other reviews mention similar issues. I wish I had read them before booking. read more

Matt and Joe are a wonderful combination of people who should be paired together indefinitely for this specific tour. Joe was a great driver and even though his role isn't about charisma per say, he was very friendly whenever I spoke to him personally...especially as I was panicking about not having enough time to use the restroom at the end of our tour. Matt was so engaging and fun to listen to the whole day! I was always looking forward to his stories and what he had to say. Not only does his voice sound like music, he speaks with the charisma and passion of a true Irish man. I felt like even though we were going to a lot of heavy tourist spots where I met more foreigners than Irish people, he gave me the Irish cultural experience I was craving. For me, visiting new places is about getting to know the people who live there, and listening to Matt felt like talking to a true local. He had incredibly captivating stories, one after another, and often intergected lots of humor along the way. It was a pleasure listening to him. I also loved that he said he would be happy talking to anyone one-on-one (for up to 10 mins at a time haha) and it was a blast chatting with him. I don't know how he mustars all of the emotional energy for a whole bus of people, but I'm extremely grateful that he does. Truly, he's very talented at what he does and has a genuinely kind and warm character. At one point, he had to correct me because I was video recording him--I didn't know I wasn't allowed to--and he had to ask me to stop, but he was so polite about it that I didn't mind at all, especially since he made sure to cover his microphone before quietly whispering to me that I should take an audio instead. I know this seems like a minor detail, but for me, it was a very nice gesture/accommodation and didn't stop me from gaining the full experience I was looking for. It reminded me of how I correct my students as a teacher and it felt like a warm hug. My only recommendation for the tour to improve would be to give less time at Mohen and more time in Galway. My boyfriend and I only had enough time to eat at a The King's Head nearby the bus in Galway, which was AMAZING (get the ribeye, clam chowder, and oysters), but it didn't make me feel totally fulfilled. Like I said earlier, my favorite part of traveling is enjoying talking to the locals and striking up random conversation. So, you can imagine that I felt a bit disappointed when I ran out of time to fully engage in a conversation with a local who displayed his artwork at a coffee shop nearby King's Head. If it weren't for my boyfriend insisting that we leave, we might have missed the bus departure time! We made it thankfully...but BARELY!! Overall, I sincerely loved the depth of Matt's storytelling and love of Irish history. I have done many tours in various countries at this point, but Matt was a true pleasure to listen to. So much passion and enthusiasm. I would highly recommend this tour! I would give it 10 stars if I could. read more
