Let's start with the good... - I was a fan of Giants Causeway, and we had plenty of time to explore the site. It was one of my favorite historic sites on the island. I recommend you take the time to climb the hill if you are able. - The bus was well kept and had USB charging ports. What I didn't like... - There is no lunch stop on this itinerary. Belfast was the spot where we could stop, but that didn't occur until much later in the day. - Not enough time was allowed in Belfast to explore the city. With only 60 minutes to explore the second biggest city on the island, we had to make the choice between a rushed tour of the town or finding something to eat. - We made a 45 minute stop with no real purpose at a tree lined lane. - The guide was my least favorite of my Irish excursion. I really like that Quiggs entertained us with his flute and other music choices, to go with the storys. He passed us pictures of the people, stories and History they were telling us about along our Journey. We booked a walking tour with Finn Mcool's for our first day in Dublin. Connor, our guide met up at the meet up spot and waited for everyone to arrive. He then led us on a 90 minute tour which took us through various important historical sites on both sides of the river. His narrative was not only informative, it was also entertaining. As an added bonus, we learned that his is a published author. We highly recommend the tour. (If you're hesitant about taking a walking tour and concerned about the amount of walking, I wouldn't worry as the there were frequent stops and the total amount walked was only about several blocks). read more

Booked three premium tickets for tour to Belfast, Giant's Causeway, Dark Hedges through Viator. The two others did not make the trip, however, when I arrived, there was only room for two more passengers. The guide said it was a good thing that they weren't coming. I was aware of their 24 hr policy for refund so didn't ask but they had obviously sold one of the tickets already. Not sure what would have happened had we all shown up. The problem I had to deal with was a large gentleman who took up part of my seat when I should have had an empty one next to me-I paid for three seats. Driver, Brian, was wonderful. Guide, Luke, had good information. The seat situation was not acceptable, especially since those seats are on the small side to begin with. Not happy with that business practice. I wanted to explore as much of the country as possible and while I'm not usually one for group bus tours, this seemed like a good option for this trip. Booked through GetYourGuide, Bryan and Derrick were the guides for the Cliffs of Moher and Galloway (+ many additional stops) tour I chose. We were kept entertained with history of Ireland from beginning to present time, songs were played, local customs were taught, and a few words in Gaelic. We were also sung to, read poems, and thoroughly entertained, not a boring moment to be had. The bus was very comfortable and WiFi worked! read more

Giant's Causeway and Game of Thrones tour Pros: - nice stops before the game of thrones exhibition - someone else drives for you - good AC on the bus - good information while on the bus Cons: - no information at the location you stop at - seats on the bus have very little leg room Well, the tour served its purpose for us. We didn't have to drive and were able to nap on the way back. First stop: convenience store for restroom break and to buy food in case you didn't bring any with you. You will not have a lunch, so either take food or be prepared to buy it at this stop. Be aware that the stop gets busy and you are on a time limit Second stop: some castle you can see from a distance. You get off, take a picture and get back on the bus Third stop: Giant's Causeway. This was probably the best part of this tour for me. It was beautiful and we were given enough time to explore. Some people had their lunch here. We hiked up as much as we could. This is where I would have appreciated a more guided tour. ( you can pay for extras inside the store prior to your start) Fourth stop: dark hedges. Nothing special. It will be about a 15 minute stop Fifth stop: GOT touring exhibition. If you like GOT, then you will enjoy this. You will have an opportunity to take pictures on the iron throne. Sixth stop: quick stop in Belfast. I think it was an hour. We managed to grab a quick bite to eat and visit one souvenir store. I did appreciate the guidance from our tour guide ( I don't remember his name). He pointed out some good souvenir stores and pubs. Tips: -Northern Ireland uses a different currency. Be prepared - If you have mobility issues, have money for the bus at giant's causeway - you can leave your stuff on the bus, so I would take anything that will make your trip more comfortable read more

This tour (Dublin: Glendalough, Kilkenny, Wicklow and Sheepdog Demonstration) was amazing and wonderful. My husband and my teenage girl learned so much about these places and had fun at the same time. Our Tour Guide, Rachel, was charismatic and knowledgeable about Irish history even provided the Tour with her favorite local Irish pubs with us which made this trip memorable. The bus was pristine and new (Mercedes) and the driver was an excellent driver. His driving was so smooth even on the bumpy hills and I fell asleep a number of times like a baby in a cradle. read more

We did not end up with adequate time to see the Titanic Experience or to grab food prior to heading back to Dublin. We went on the day tour from Dublin to Glendalough, Wicklow and Kilkenny including Sheepdog Trails with Godfrey as our guide. It was extremely well organized, on time, and very engaging. The bus was clean, comfortable and had a toilet on board. Godfrey is very knowledgeable and shares this in a fun manner, peppered with humor and an occasional song. We had a great driver, were given opportunities to stroll about at the sites, recommendations on where to go, what to look for and of course when to return to the bus to keep on schedule. We had Rachel and Baby Thomas to Cliffs of Moher and it was great. great commentary, left on time and bus was comfortable and ride back to Dublin was restful after a day of walking. We loved it so much, we sign up for the tour to wicklow, Kilkenny and with sheepdogs. Our guide Moira and driver Bryan were horrible. Her commentary was strange. She was odd. The driver had the radio on and there was static most of the time since we were in the mountains. It was horrible and not relaxing. We left late and then left 30 minutes late from Wicklow and 15 minutes late from Kilkenny. She did not stress enough for everyone to return to the bus on time. We were rushed at Kilkenny. Wish we had 30 minutes extra. We arrive back to Dublin late. It was not a good experience. She also kept begging for tips. She was tacky. read more

A full refund even though they made sure we completed the rest of the tour with extra time in Galway. If you choose to be on a bus for 2 hours make it this one!! Noel and Bojan were fantastic! The weather was definitely Irish and rainy but Bojan got us there before the fog rolled in. Noel kept us laughing and full of interesting Irish knowledge. There was so much I didn't know about the Irish history and Noel kept it interesting. Excellent tour experience with Finn McCools. I booked two separate tours: Cliffs of Moher tour (via Expedia) and Glendalough and Wicklow (via Viator). Cliffs of Moher tour Very entertaining guide (Derrick D), shared lots of facts about Ireland and background information on each of the sites we visited. Driver (Yuri) was excellent, safe and very friendly. The tour starts with a quick photo stop at Kilmacduagh Monastery; then a visit to the Cliffs of Moher, where we spent at least 1.5 hours; then a quick photo stop at the Burren; and finally a one hour stop at Galway before heading back to Dublin. I suggest grabbing a bite to eat at The Quays Restaurant in Galway, otherwise, pack a sandwich and eat it on the bus. Derrick D gave plenty of recommendations on restaurants and pubs in Dublin. Glendalouch, Wicklow Mountains tour This was my favourite tour, but do note that this is self guided. We were a small group on this tour (7 in total), and our driver Captain John was safe and provided lots of context to the sites we visited. We started with a two hour visit to Glendalough. I recommend paying the 50 euro cent at the visitor center for a map as there are plenty of trails. We were lucky to visit on a cold and wet day as the clouds covering the mountains were excellent for photos, and kept my body temperature regulated during the hike. The tour then takes a quick photo stop to a valley before heading out to Kilkenny (2 hours). If there's one thing I would change about this tour, it would be to spend more time at Glendalough and less at Kilkenny. If I could, I would have spent my entire time at Glendalough on this tour. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY TO DO ANY TOURS IN IRELAND, UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE BULLIED AND VERBALLY ABUSED! During my recent trip to Ireland, I decided to book two tours with Finn McCools. Unfortunately, my two sons fell ill with gastroenteritis the evening before the first tour. I immediately contacted Finn McCools to notify the tour guide about their condition and inability to endure an 8-hour bus tour. I asked for a refund or a credit for future tours and was told if they could resell my seats they would refund me. On the 2nd tour, when I explained the situation to Wayne, one of the managers, he cited GetYourGuide's refund policy and said that he would not issue a refund because the cancellation was less than 24 hours before the tour was scheduled. I told him other tour companies had offered credits if the cancellation was less than 24 hours later; some were even nice enough to offer the full refund. Wayne kept insisting there was nothing they could do to help and I told him that was fine, I would just leave a review letting others know of their unwillingness to provide good customer service. Wayne stated he would call his boss, Willem. As my sons and I headed to the bus to locate our seats, Willem demanded that we step off the bus immediately. I stated that I paid for the tour, but Willem continued to shout at me and my sons in front of the other passengers. Willem's aggressive behavior and verbal abuse left my sons and me feeling unsafe, embarrassed, and scared. When he continued to shout at us that we were not allowed on the tour, I asked Willem to specify why and was told that we needed a doctor's note affirming that we were in healthy condition in order to continue. When I agreed to provide him with a doctor's note, he explained that the note had to be issued by his doctor in Ireland. He then told us to leave the bus and threatened to call the Irish Guards. It is interesting how Finn McCools came up with this "rule" to require an Irish doctor's note for my family only when I mentioned a bad review. Actually, after speaking with some of the guards on O'Connell street, we were told it was ridiculous for them to demand a note to begin with! The whole experience was truly traumatizing and demoralizing. Never in my over 25 years of travelling all over the world have I ever been treated with such contempt and I am honestly mortified that Willem and his company can stay in business. More customer support and calling customers if asked. It seemed that once I'd paid my money, that was all they were interested. I was booked for a tour of Titanic and Causeway and was at the location where they were leaving, as it was raining I thought I'd wait in the coffee shop across the road, thinking like all the other tours I'd been on they'd call if I wasn't there when they arrived as they were Coming from Dublin and I was in Belfast. I received no call, next thing I see the bus pulling out and on its way, I sent a message to the tour operator to call me, however, I received no call, so I sent another message to see if that was a actually my bus. I eventually got a return message, no phone call of course. Confirming my bus left on time and it wasn't the tour company's responsibility to see if you were at the bus stop. Being from Australia and not really knowing where to go, I thought that might be a priority. I'm sure all buses keep a manifest, if not a requirement by law a requirement by the company in case of accident/incident. When speaking to Wayne via email of course no phone call, it was all my fault and they had 583 passengers and 11 buses etc, etc. however, there weren't that many people getting on in Belfast. The way I look at is if you take someone's money, you don't stop service once the moneys in your pocket. I calculated they grossed approximately £30,000 on that day alone and they couldn't afford a phone call or a refund. Just another tour operator taking advantage. As I said earlier, I'd been on quite a few bus tours with different operators before Finn Mccools and they always kept me informed with a polite call that they had arrived. It was a wonderful tour. Our Tour Guide Big D kept it extremely entertaining and I didn't feel rushed in any of the stops. The way it was paced gave enough time to do many things in Northern Ireland. We went to Giants Causeway, Dunlace Castle, Dark Hedges , Titanic Museum in Belfast and Various locations along the way. They fully prepared us in advance what to expect on the tour and how to prepare for it. Packing a lunch and some snacks is a must. The buses are clean and very comfortable. They also have plugs to charge your phone after taking many pictures. I highly recommend to dress in layers during your trip we experienced several temperature changes. We were looking for seeing some of the Game of Thrones filming locations as well as visiting Northern Ireland, so this was a perfect fit for us while staying in Dublin. A great value for an all day tour, and I mean all day (6:30AM - 8:15PM), so be sure to pack some snacks, drinks and layered clothing as the winds, rains or sleet can come up at any time in Ireland. Tour guide Irial was very informative and funny. I especially enjoyed his passion for Irish history and clear/loud speaking voice. He sounded enthusiastic throughout the journey too which made for an overall grand experience. The driver Brian was safe, courteous and provided additional comic relief. The tour is all about the destinations and the scenery is amazing. We especially enjoyed visiting Ballintoy Harbor (rough seas, waves, and beautiful photo opps, although it sleeted on us on the way down, so cold, but memorable). Larrybane filming locations are also cool to see. The Caves near Cushedun were a nice sight to see as well as Johann (the goat). We had visited the Giant's causeway once on our own, so that part wasn't new to us, but it was still nice to visit. All and all this was a great tour company, and we have been on several tours in other countries, so this is an honest assessment of the professionalism, clear information, and safety of the tour. read more

What a great tour company! I was deciding between using Wild Rover Tours or Finn McCools Tours and ended up doing both companies for different places. Finn McCools was by far my favorite and I think it had everything to do with our tour guide Derek and our driver on the Giant's Causeway Tour. Derek kept our tour group informed and entertained the whole entire day. He brought out his guitar to sing us traditional Irish songs and had the perfect sense of humor. This tour company ruined my vacation and declined a full refund after his employee gave us bad information as where to park. We arrived 30 minutes early as per their website and went to the pay parking which was closed at 6am. We then drove to the bus pickup and spoke with driver who said yes we can park at the bus area no problem. We parked and were entering bus when another employee told us to move the car 2 blocks down or car would be booted. We ran to find parking and returned minutes later and they left us stranded. Spoke with owner later who was unhelpful and rude and kept referring to their website but would not apply refund. Then I explained his employees mistakes and he offered a 50% refund and no reschedule to another day. I asked him nicely to do the right thing and he said he could not. Now I have contacted my credit card company to cancel funds. What a mess. Choose anyone except this company. Your vacation is too important to trust them. read more

I booked my tour with Finn through Viator and my flight was cancelled. I contacted them within the 24 hours and was told that I had to cancel within 24 hours from the beginning of the day in Ireland however they would contact Finn Mccools Tours. They did and Finn Mccools got back to me with basically a bribe to refund my money. This is what was said . "Originally we were still planning to issue a 50%refund out of kindness (even though we lost quite a bit of Money keeping the seats empty and pre paying for entrance tickets However, we have now seen your unfair review on our page which is not reflecting the whole and true story. You are penalizing us for the actions of the booking sire and yourself. Unfortunately we will not be able to issue ay refunds in this case. If you would like to amend your unfair review, we are happy to look at this issue again. So I contacted them again directly this time and explained everything once again. Their response today was the following, It was over a month ago we offered 50% refund. The review is still online. And have been for over a month. We actually don't care about bad reviews. It tells other people what to be be aware of. We merely reacted as we thought it was something we can fix. They kept the ac on for about 3 minutes and then shut it off. 75% of the buss was complaining about the heat. Of course the AC miraculously stayed on up in the front for the driver but everyone behind them was left without it. Couldn't even enjoy the tour. DON'T RIDE WITH THEM. I never will again. Great driver, guide, and buses. To be able to get so many attractions in one day, basing our vacation out of Dublin, was amazing. Big John the driver, and Gavin the guide were wonderfully helpful, informed, and entertaining. What's better is they knew when to give us a break, as it were. Our tour started in Dublin at 645 and took us through Belfast to the Giants Causeway, then onto a lovely Beech bordered lane used for a scene in Game of Thrones, a brief stop in downtown Belfast, and finally to the Titanic Experience in Belfast before returning us to Dublin at 2100.
