Did a trial class for my daughter. Coach Charlotte was amazing. However, there was this one coach (such a Karen) mocking my daughter because she has a short attention span. She just turned 3 and is in school. She even questioned my daughter going to school sayong, "really?" with a mocking face. Negative: They need to reign in toxic parents more & vet them before they allow them to chaperone. My child experienced a parent "bully" who encouraged her child to also bully. This was not nipped in the bud. Also, I know elem, preteen, & teen kids can be alot but on rare occasion, coaches show their frustration and impatience with gymnasts (kids) which can impact kids self-esteem. I get that this is probably at all gyms though. Positive: Once my daughter wrote a 30 pg paper on the intersection of gymnastics world and diversity. This study led us to leaving her awesome gym due to it's glaring lack of diversity and inclusion. NBAA has been so wonderful for my daughter (who is biracial) as she felt that she fit in right away. She has had some coach changes over the years but Coach Christian & Coach Leila have been a mainstay of challenge & encouragement. In a world of undue influence and coercive control, especially in sports, as parents, we appreciate a safe, athletic environment. read more

My daughter attended one of the summer camps. Her experience was just okay. There are some aggressive children that were not better supervised by some of the coaches. What concerns me more is the location. A few of us from a neighboring town decided to give this location a try since our daughters expressed interest in gymnastics. Unfortunately the location did not make us very comfortable. I heard the actual gymnastics program is well run. Maybe in the future if they consider moving to a different part of town or neighboring city I'd consider bringing my daughter back. read more

Amazing gymnastics center. My daughter was absolutely afraid to do a somersault. I googled this place in Vallejo, They signed up my daughter in the first week and within 1 hour my daughter was thriving in gymnastics. She was no longer afraid of somersaults or cartwheels. We've been wanting to put our daughter in gymnastics and have been researching gyms. We decided to give the camp a try for Presidents Day and were interested in their Spring Break camp. For the most part it seems our daughter had fun but we were put off by certain incidents that have us on the fence about whether or not this is the right place for her. 1. My wife arrived the morning of and was handed paperwork. Brand new client. Our 8 year old was right there. While she was filling in paperwork a very ugly argument broke out between two employees. Stuff like "you're not my boss." Etc were said. Made my wife a bit uncomfortable and weird dropping our daughter off. 2. My wife called to check in on our daughter and the person who answered had a "I just got here, how should I know mentality." She had to ask the person to please go check after this person kept brushing her off. She had to almost beg her to do this which made her wonder if she really did it. We paid to leave our daughter in your care. You should have been more then happy to look in on her. It's good customer service. I hear the coaches here are good and that's what attracted us to this gym but this experience just didn't leave a very positive vibe. We will keep it in mind but will probably continue to explore other gyms. Just a note to the owner or management that it doesn't matter how good your coaches are...professionalism and that first impression DOES matter. I don't expect a Disneyland experience but this was too off-putting for us. read more

My 3 year old son attended one of the summer camps they held this year. Overall he had a OK time and the price was great. We signed up for the pirate camp, but there didn't seem to be anything pirate about it. They fed him snacks in the morning and we provided lunch. All of the coaches seemed very nice, I didn't stay long to see them actually coaching though. My son was one of the younger kids in the group, which seemed intimidating since there are a lot of bigger/older kids there running through the equipment without much direction; the coaches were sitting nearby watching the group. On the last day my son said that people were throwing the foam squares at him and he was crying, when I asked who it was he pointed at the coaches. I asked one of the coaches who said she didn't seem him crying, but as a Mom I could tell something wasn't right. Even though the camp says ages 3 and up, I wouldn't bring him again unless he had an older friend watching out for him. As we walked to the gym I was disturbed by the amount of litter in the front of the business, including dog waste on the curb (which was still there on the second day). After check in you have to walk through another room to access the gym. I was disappointed in the amount of "stuff" or clutter in this area, and there was a child sleeping on the chairs...? On the last day we stuck around after lunch so my son could participate in the toddler open gym. He had a great time with kids his age. Some of the other moms and I were noticing the dust and cobwebs all over the ceiling and more piles of "stuff" up above the office area, where parents used to be allowed to watch. I'm not here to harp on the gym - it's just sad that this is the only gymnastics option in Vallejo and Benicia and it's not well-kept. As a Vallejo resident I want to support Vallejo businesses but they have to earn my money. For the prices of coaching, fees, and camps, you'd hope they could clean up and be a bit more organized with camps. Please NBAA, keep this business alive in Vallejo. read more

The receptionist Sarah doesn't know how to do her job! Not going to go too much into it because it would be too much to type. She didn't know anything about policy. When I asked she rudely told me to "refer to the parent handbook, I only accept tuition." Honestly how she is even working there is beyond me. Overall the gym itself is nice and so are the instructors. My daughter has a passion for gymnastics so we have her in lessons. Word of advice to this gym get someone who's capable of answering questions about the gym to be up at the front not just take money! read more

Every detail was met. My daughter's team (Byers Elk Grove) was invited here for a gymnastics meet 'Hollywood Invitational'. We (mom and dad) were chosen from the crowd to be VIP guests. We were sat at a table with a birds-eye view of all the events (vault, bars, beam, floor), we had a private server who brought us unlimited food and drinks to our table (free of charge). Throughout the event, different staff members of NBAA walked by to ask, how we were doing or if we needed anything, and at the end of our session we were given a rose. Hospitality A+++ All of the competing gyms were invited to take part of an elaborate choreographed entrance for the meet (not seen when we have been to an 'away meet') All the girls were given sunglasses, t-shirt, and a good time. Thank you NBAA! Your hospitality and attention to detail, this makes you one of the finest gyms. I wish you and your gymnasts great success. Two coaches from NBAA came into our preschool classroom and for 40 minutes they worked with 15 restless children. Both Maggie and Christian (sorry if I have your name wrong, just had a senior moment!) were fun and educational they were great with the children and to be honest we never heard the children make a noise they were in kid's heaven. A week later the kids are still doing jumping jacks and other exercises. Before I wrote this review I did read the others and some were disappointing, I think this is a training issue and can be fixed so parents do not let this put you off try the free lesson offer and see what you think if it I do not think you will be disappointed. read more

We had our daughter's 9th bday party here on Saturday and were blown away but what a great experience! We ended up having 22 kids and the facility accommodated all the kids (ages ranged from 2-13) perfectly. The staff were wonderful, Brandon did a great job! I felt like she was purposefully trying to start an argument with me, literally over nothing. Anyway, nice gym for the kids and awesome that they have the Sat night things. Brandon and his team was amazing. They made everything run smoothly and less stressful for me. Not only did the staff help get things out the car they set up everything and made sure that our birthday girl was their top priority. The games and music was just what the party needed. This is a great place to take your kid to blow off some steam on Sunday afternoon. It's open gym, 5 bucks, relatively clean (use the bathroom prior to entering the establishment) and has a nice sense of community. The kids are paid attention to, the staff remember my name and my child's, the equipment is safe and newish-there are class options and teams that meet there which is nice for both me and my little one to see. Sometimes during open gym "team members" are practicing and it's a nice little example for kids to see what some dedication and follow through will get you. I will day they can get a bit better at security. Watch your children. This is not a place to "drop them off" or have seat and let them run wild-play with them. Participate and for 2 hours they will have a blast, meet local kids and get tired out and hungry for dinner. Beef up the security (they have a movie night on Sat where parents can drop their kids off for about 4 hours and first they play and then they snuggle in with their own sleeping bags and provided popcorn for a kid friendly movie) for movie night because after I dropped my child off (not really I was sitting out of sight as a first timer at this event) I watched as the open door was free for anyone to walk in OR OUT and without notice. I did it 4 times and never did anyone say "a Boo" or even notice I was there. I won't leave my kid there, but I will enjoy the open gym and possibly look into gymnastics lessons. read more

The gym is great for the kids, my daughter loves her classes.....But the receptionist at the front desk seems to hate her job and has a problem with everything from accepting payments to changing our schedule around.....NO customer service skills at all!!! When I get her name I will update this....2 stars because I have to walk by that lazy lady everytime I go!! We come here for the toddler open gym. As a parent of 2 of them we find this to be a little heaven for our little humans to burn off energy. Everyone that works here is super nice and helpful. It is very big and there are lots of things to keep them busy. My kids love it!! read more

This gym is great EXCEPT for the office manager/front desk woman. She tends to want to control everything and seems to make everything an issue, from changing your child's schedule, making a payment, or requesting a receipt. Very challenging personality (interesting choice to be the first person you encounter at a children's gymnasium). Once you get past that miserable lady, the gym and coaches are AWESOME! Coaches really try to identify each gymnast's strengths and maximize potential with enthusiasm, kindness and great senses of humor! There is emphasis on teamwork, mutual support, and mastering new technical challenges. It's great and once they get rid of that front desk office manager, I'll add another star. read more

We tried this gym out while searching a gymnastic class for my toddler. Everyone was kind, and I have seen that there have been a lot of complaints about the receptionist, I honestly thought she was kind, attentive and welcoming. The class was fun and my kids really enjoyed it, the teachers were attentive and energetic except for when they split off. This being my toddler's first time ever doing gymnastics, she was a bit slower and needed a little more attention to complete movements and I felt like the class was a little too fast paced or large for her to get that help. I ended up stepping in to help her which was fine since my other toddler was participating, However the class was only intended for one of my kids so if I were enroll my child I would not be able to step in.. So that was a bit of a turn off. The next turn off was the biggest: the last 15 minutes of class is "free play" which basicly meant no instruction or participation from the teacher... The students being toddlers just stood around while the teacher chatted with one of the parents about dog breeding. I got into the foam pit with my kids and they had a blast, but for the class session fees and membership fee, which is not cheap I felt like "free play" should still be teacher led and students should not be standing around. We decided to search for a different gym even if it means little more of a drive. read more

My child wanted a birthday party at this venue. I reserved the Sunday 4:30-6p slot. I was invited to arrive at 4p to set up. When I arrived there were two staff members there to help who went above and beyond (especially for the price we paid, it was very inexpensive). The staff offered to help off load my party supplies from my car, they asked how they could help me set up for my party, the had 3 activities lined up to entertain my guests, gathered the entire party for a group photo and, then cleaned everything up. Honestly the gym is a bit dusty but the friendly and helpful staff made the experience much better than I could have ever asked for. My son and our guests loved the party and all the kids went home tired. Winning!!! read more

I have been most pleased with this association and find the coaches very professional, knowledgeable and taking the time to show each child a move and giving them individual attention when needed. I am especially impressed with Marissa Gonzalez; she is very young, but shows great sportsmanship and professionalism in what she does.....and a lot of flexibility for the number of students she has. My granddaughter is getting a lot out of learning from her and Marissa puts a lot of emphasis on safety when it comes to learning new techniques. I am concerned, however, about the secretary named Sarah, where I had asked her if certain classes would be closed over Christmas and she abruptly told me, "talk to your coach; you'll have to talk to your coach" and then I overheard her say to a parent (who was looking and asking questions about NBAA for her daughter) and Sarah abruptly responded rudely, " here's the paperwork you will have to fill out". This is not the way to welcome a prospective client...if anything, she probably chased her away with her rudeness. My daughter has attended classes at this facility since she was eight years old. The coaches have helped to not only teach her the sport of gymnastics, but also valuable life lessons that have helped her to become successful and confident in everything she does. They offer classes for all ages so parents can get there kids active as soon as they start walking. The interactive and friendly environment helps children and parents feel comfortable and involved in their child's development. Over the last several months, I have seen improvements with the office staff, especially since they have started having several receptionists working in the front office. I especially like how they offer the first class FREE so children can try the class out before they join. Thank you North Bay for having such a positive impact on my daughter life.
