1 Star Extremely disappointed with North Atlanta Dermatology. After being a long-time patient, we were shocked at how poorly my sister was treated. We drove out of our way to bring her to her appointment, only to be told they wouldn't see her because my mom (her guardian) wasn't physically present -- We left, wasted more time driving to get the form signed in person, only to return and be told they still wouldn't accept it because they "couldn't confirm she actually signed it." Seriously? She signed the physical form -- what more proof do they need? No flexibility, no empathy, and absolutely no respect for their patients' time. For a practice we've trusted for years, this was incredibly frustrating and disheartening. It felt like they were looking for reasons not to help us. No compassion, no common sense, and clearly no care for their patients. If this is how they treat long-time families, I can't imagine how they treat new ones. Save yourself the headache and find a place that actually knows how to treat people like humans. read more

Sarah Barr is okay. However I believed that the visit was somewhat rushed. I've been trying for 3 days to get through to them to cancel an appointment. Ridiculous wait times. There is an option for a call back, but they never call you back. It's ridiculous that I have to spend this much of my days trying to cancel a simple appointment. 12/18/2018 I went here last August to get a pimple drained. I was talked into getting a cortisone injection instead. It got worse. I went back 3 weeks ago. The Dr. Tried to talk me out of getting it drained. I wanted the blemish to be drained and gone off my stomach. Reluctantly the Dr. Agreed. The assistant put a shot of numbing medicine in the blemish. It squirted on her and she ran out of the room complaining and came back telling me about having to use dry shampoo. This was very unprofessional. I was charged $1200 and the insurance only paid half. I spoke with the office Manager Beth who forgot our conversation three days later and when I refreshed her memory she basically said too bad. This place is not interested in treating acne. The Dr.'s seem only interested in prescription writing and cosmetic procedures. read more

The office started out really nice, I really liked the PA Sara Barr, very friendly. And then future visits were very short and curt to the point of being rude. And the charges for simple 10 minute office visits that were mostly just visualization and prescribing medicine were absolutely exorbitant!!! Dr. Duchey was just plain rude. Bad service....I went to get a body check and the nurse practitioner missed the basal cell spot on my arm....and when I went back ten months later...it was again the basal cell...missed diagnosis!!!! I went in again like two years later with a red, scaly patch on my leg....another nurse practitioner saw it and said to put cream on it...sure enough it did not go away and when I went back to the office the doctor saw it and immediately said "it is basal cell"....so that is two times out of two I got a wrong diagnosis!!!! I am NEVER going back because the office manager would not give me a complimentary visit for their mistakes!!!!!!!! Horrible practice!!!! HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Don't risk your health!!!!!! Horrible service, long wait times, and apparently they'll tell you certain procedures are covered by your medical insurance, then 1 month later you get a bill for a large amount of money and come to find it out wasn't covered. Apparently it's up to the patient to cross reference the medical codes that they bill for to what my plan covers!? Yeah right what a joke. How am I suppose to even know the medical codes, what they are, and how they bill them, and not that I'm a doctor but this is coming from someone with a degree in Biochemistry. They do not conduct business in a proper and ethical manner here, stay away. I'm trying to work with them to come to a compromise, however I just received a bill that they're going to send my bill to collections soon. My appt was at 2:45 however, due to traffic I arrived at 2:53(which I called to let them know). Paperwork was filled out online which the lovely lady at yhe fron thanked me for. I've been in the room now since 3:05 and it's now 3:28. I was asked to take my shirt off so the doctor could look at my back which is no biggie only its COLD! I absolutely hate any office/clinic that over books. I prefer quality over quantity. Of course you can book a million patients in a day for the money but where is the quality of care? Would never refer them and definitely not coming back after today. It definitely doesn't shock me that they only had 3 stars even before my review! The struggle, y'all. The doctor could be great but we didn't get that far, unfortunately. My mom is chronically ill and typically my dad goes with her/us to appointments. He handles her ID, documents, etc. but was called into work so I took her. She thought her photo ID would be in her bag but it wasn't so she informed them. There was a lot of confusion and monotone assistance from the women at the front desk. They asked if I could call my dad and try to get a photo of my moms disease. I told them he was working, tried anyway, but he didn't have her ID in hand. They said we could go home and get the ID and come back. Then they said they were unsure. Then they told me to call my dad. I said that I did. "You can't just call your dad?" She asked, with a snarky tone. I informed her that he was working. I felt like a 12 year old begging the lady at the ice cream shop for one more scoop. I know that working at a doctor's office can often times provide overwhelming days. However, the lack of compassion, friendliness or even one smile was too much to bear. We left to get the ID but I later called an cancelled. I didn't feel comfortable going back. The manager, Elaine, has reached out to my mom. Her kindness has resolved the issue. I pray her kindness extends to the front desk. read more

Worst Worst don't go to them unless if you want to pay for no service. should have went with the reviews I read before making appt, but decided to give them a chance. I was very honest with them when I made appt that my insurance might not cover, they assure me they will cover get to find out few weeks later got a outrageous bill from them. $227.00 for them to do paperwork and different amount for treatment charges. My experience with this doctors office was bad, went in for minor problem and they were asking me which treatment I would want to take instead of them saying this treatment would work was in office for less than 5 mins, after having injection my problem is still there no change and paying them ridiculous amount. Buyer Beware. Liked the PA, paid my co-pay, thought everything was good. Started getting additional surprise bills - called 3 times into the inept billing dept. They billed wrong amount, sent to wrong insurance, etc. Never once did they call me back, even when promising to do so. My insurance said I don't owe anything. Office then re-sent in "updated" bills to my insurance for @ 1K to remove a large skin tag - including $200.00 for a Dr. there to check if it was cancerous, which I didn't ask for. They "forgot" to include the co-pay I already paid. Insurance came back after the last time & said I owe them some money. After I deduct the payment I already made - the difference is $12.00. Never got an updated bill, a call, or an apology for all of the billing errors - they reported me to a collection agency for non-payment - for the $12.00 plus the co-pay amount that was already paid. read more

My wife had an appointment today and I can't believe how bad we were treated. we showed up on time for our appointment and waited 45 minutes before getting seen. when we showed up, we explain that our 2 month old son was waiting in the car and needed to feed soon. they could have said hey we are running behind it will probably 30 min or longer wait. we would have fed our son. after waiting for 30 min my wife asked how much longer so we can feed our child. they said oh we are ready now brings her back to a room where she waits for another 15 min. the doctor walks in 45 min late to our appointment checks my wife and is done in 15 min. when we check out they offered no apology or said anything about being late and just told us what we owed for the visit. So when we complained about how long a 15 min appointment took the lady was compared them to an ER that its normal to wait for doctors appointments. I'm sorry but I've never scheduled an appointment for the ER. Waiting 15 even 30 min at the most is fine but after 45 minutes and you can't even say sorry is ridiculous. Seeing that the lady didn't care we dropped it because we did like the doctor. We paid and left and drop the issue. about an hour later my wife gets a phone call from the office telling her that she was rude at the office and doesn't understand what expectations we have since she got helped within an hour. she than said that we didn't fill out any of the paperwork work online. my wife who didn't want to complain from the start didn't even address the time comments and just told her I would have filled the paperwork out online if I was told too or given a link or something. She explained how she never received anything other your appointment is confirmed. we have visited this office before so its not like they didn't have our information already and it only took my wife a minute to check the paperwork they had filled out already for her. she than told my wife that she should find a new doctor office. my wife not being someone that likes to fight just said ok. I literally can't believe that this happen and the fact that they are acting like we did something wrong is crazy. The only thing we did was complain about them being extremely late and yes we might have been rude or frustrated but the check out lady offered no sympathy or explanation. She only decided to fuel the situation with being rude. so to the office of north Atlanta Dermatology in Buford for being rude while checking out I offer you the same apology you gave us for being 45 minutes late to our appointment. read more

Dr. Douchy is THE BEST dermatologist in the metro, making uncomfortable situations seamless with his lite-weight humor and accommodating approach. PAs are fine. Techs subpar. Office staff could not be worse. If I listed all the issues I have had in my handful of visits to this office, it would take a week. Appointments are screwed up, cancelled and always require a 30-60 minute wait. They cannot figure out my insurance and, once they do figure it out, it's like a brand new challenge at the next appointment. I had a balance every time I went in, which made no sense. Turns out, they weren't charging me the correct co-pay ... over ... and over ... and over. The most amazing part is that they are rude. Their ineptitude seems to make them cranky. The techs are incapable of drawing blood. On my last visit, the woman stuck me SIX times. I have had dark black and blue bruises every time I have had to have blood drawn. They actually suggested I go to a generic lab for the blood test, because they could not get it done. I have large, dark veins and have never had a problem giving blood in my life. I currently have an issue with a prescription, I have contacted them via phone (left message because they do not answer), text, website form ... this has been going on for almost two weeks. No one will get in touch. Meanwhile, I have had no medicine in two weeks. They do not care. I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. How can this practice remain open with this level of service? Do yourself a favor and find a different dermatologist. You don't need this aggravation in your life. read more

Left a message for the nurse and received no call back. I had to call just to get told the nurse is declining a refill on the same acne medication my daughter has been using for over a year. YOU HAVE TO READ THIS!!!!!! We don't write any reviews, but I had to take some time about this one. Those people are ripoffs!!! If you are rich and have plenty of money, don't spend your time reading this. My wife and I decided to go to the doctor regarding a small red spot she had on her face for a while, nothing serious, not life threatening, so we did. We called in and scheduled the appointment after talking with multiple people at North Atlanta Dermatology (NAD) and they assured us that we will not incur any additional charges, except for the $60 copay. We showed up in the office, they asked for the Insurance cards so they can make copies and were told to seat and wait. After a long wait with an "appointment", they escorted us in one of the back consultations room. After a brief consultation with a Doctor Assistent, going over the the recommendations, procedures, that they may do, we waited for the Doctor. I must say that the doctor was very nice. He looked at the red spot, analysed, and suggested a simple procedure that was done in the office. There were two other darker spots that he analysed and had a biopsy from all three different places off her face and were sent to the lab. About a week or two later the bill came in the mail and yes there was an additional charges that we had to pay. On Aug. the 6th 2015 I called in and talked to Detra in billing department at NAD in regards to the additional charges that we were told that we will not incur. I explained to her the whole situation, and as we were talking I noticed on my bill an additional charge from two months ago $280 for my daughter, which also had Insurance. Detra explained that they had us in the system set as self pay!!!!! and she will have to look in to this, bring this manor to her manager's attention, and get back with us the next day. We never heard back from anyone at NAD. Today is August the 18th 2015 and decided to do a follow up phone conversation and hopefully someone will be able to have this mess strained out. Called in and talked to Detra again, and her only explanation for not getting back with us the next day was "SORRY". Nothing was resolved, They charged us for three procedures, and got us stuck with a bill$$$. I asked for the manager and was told that she is on the phone, and that she will call us back as soon as she can. Did not want to be rude, and told her that they are NOT good at returning phone calls. Last time she told me this, was on the 6th, today is the 18th and I had to call in to get this resolved, because no one called us back. After 20 to 30 minutes wait Margery came on the line, identifying herself as the Manager in Billing department.......As I tried to explained AGAIN the whole story, she constantly was cutting me off, very very rude. So Margery, if at any time you will read this, and I know you will because I think I made myself very clear that I will write a review, here is the definition of a "CONVERSATION": an informal talk involving two people (Not one) or a small group of people : the act of talking in an informal way. oral exchange of sentiments, observations, opinions, or ideas etc. and hopefully you will learn from this, as a Manager, learn how to listen, it is not about you or me, it is about being nice and polite. Doing what you did, will never never get you far in life interrupt someone, and specialy not a customer (patient). Remember customer it is always right. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE....DO NOT GO IN THIS OFFICE. THERE ARE PLEANTY OF OTHER OFFICES TO CHOOSE FROM. WILL PROBABLY TAKE THIS TO LITIGATION AND HAVE A JUDGE MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION. I visited this office for the first time a couple of months ago due to an uncomfortable and rather embarrassing rash that wouldn't go away. I believe the technical term for the rash is "Coodies". I didn't have a dermatologist in the area that I have used before and I wasn't sure what I was getting into because there weren't a lot of reviews. So I basically just found it on google maps, because I can pretty much walk there from home and took a chance with whomever I could get an appointment with on short notice. That doctor ended up being Dr. Reschly. I had never seen him before or been to this office but Coodies being so widespread, I figured they'd have a fix. They did. But here's the really awesome part of the story... I had an appointment for 11am but was instructed to show up at 10:45. I followed those instructions. I get to the office and it is packed. I was like uh oh, we must be having a coodies pandemic and figured I'd be waiting a long time. I fill out the form and hand it back and 11am on the nose, I am called in to see the doctor. I just looked at the waiting room filled with people and was like "sorry!" So they called me in at precisely the time I had an appointment for. I didn't have to wait one minute beyond my scheduled appointment. This gets better. So the nurse who saw me first was very friendly. The doctor came in and within seconds he's like, "yep, that's coodies". He told me to pull out my smartphone where we did search on coodies and where I can learn more about it. Not that he wasn't happy to answer any of my questions, he was, it's just that I think he assumed I gave more craps about my coodies than I actually did. I asked if he had any samples for the anti-coodies cream and he brought out two big bags of it. He wrote me a prescription for it anyway but told me some over-the-counter products that would probably work just as well. Which is good because the meds are expensive. He said if the meds (free samples) didn't work, to come back and he will not charge me for a re-exam. Then! Just when I thought things couldn't get any better, I leave the exam room and go to pay for my visit and the amount is half the price they told me it would be on the phone. And insurance had nothing to do with it because I didn't use any insurance. Within 24 hours, the free sample of anti-coodies creme had made the coodies almost entirely disappear. I still do have to take meds for it because Coodies is chronic. What little girls say about boys having coodies is true. We do. Boys definitely have coodies. Only it may not surface until adulthood. And when it does, I recommend going to North Atlanta Dermatology and asking to see Dr. Reschly if he's available. Just remember, if you're itchy and rashly, go see Dr. Reschly. read more

I will NEVER return to this office and I recommend you seek treatment elsewhere. Very unprofessional. They never knew why I was coming in (my appointment reason was the same every month, Accutane). The nurses were defensive and rude. I wish I could write something positive about this office. Hopefully they begin to learn and get better from these mistakes. But, they truly do not care if you stay a patient there or not.. Which is sad. read more

WOW BEST MEDICAL PRACTICE I HAVE EVER VISITED!! I am a new patient called several practices but could not get an appointment for over a week. They were able to see me the next day. Walked in did my paperwork and was taken back in less than 10 minutes. After the nurse did the preliminary work up the doctor (Dr. Reschly) was in to see me in 5 minutes. He looked at what I came in for and took care of it on the spot. I was expecting to have to come back, pay another co-pay, you know the usual run around. I was In and out of there in less than an hour. heck I have had oil changes which took longer than that. As a nurse I can tell you Dr. Reschly was outstanding!!! very professional, great bedside manner and highlyompetent. and no I had never met him before and I don't usually post reviews, in fact this is my first time on yelp, I was that impressed. With customer service like that know wonder why they have some many location. Great job!!!!!! read more

I have been using North GA. Dermatology for many years. Dr. Douchy has treated me for precancerous growths and also for some cosmetic treatments. He is very honest with me about what to expect after any treatment. This office is close to my home in Dacula so it is very convenient for me. When I call for a appointment I can usually get one in a few days. No surprises about charges either, they always tell me the cost of any procedure before I get it done. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Douchy. read more

I don't understand some of the bad reviews about NAD. My daughter and I have both been going here for over 12 years. She has a chronic skin condition, which they have treated beautifully, and I have had multiple skin lesions and moles that they have taken care of fast and effectively. Dr. Reschly is awesome, and so is Sara Barr. Nate also does a great job with prescriptions, getting copay cards for assistance, and making sure everything gets approved and to the pharmacy. My daughter has also had laser hair removal here, and it was done professionally and at a lower price than the box-store laser hair removal offices. She has also referred friends here for the same procedure, who were also happy. Can't imagine going anywhere else. read more

Im not sure why this practice has declined over the years, honestly save yourself from this dermatologist office. We saw Dr Douchey as he treated my oldest 9 years ago and again more recently my youngest. This is our recent experience: My child began treatment with DR. Douchey in August of 2016 for acne. Dr Douchey was more concerned about convincing my child he had an app to scan skin to make sure my child was using the topical cream that had been prescribed. After months of using the same oral antibiotic and prescribed topical cream with several follow-up visits my child's acne progressively worsened. I am so upset as my child went from minor acne to a full face of large cystic acne. On our followup appointments Dr. Douchey only represcribed the same medications and told my child he would use his "fake" app to scan skin making sure the regiment was being followed. I put my child under his care with many regrets. My child was in such pain, I switched to another Dermatology practice. Our new Dermatologist walked in and immediately had a plan of action. My child is now on long term treatment with a different prescription which is looking like we will see results, FINALLY. Our new Dermatologist said the medication DR. Douchey had my child on was never going to work. My child said it best, Dr. Douchey was more concerned about his fake app than he was about treating the medical condition. read more

The room I was in was dirty with cotton swabs on the floor I was going to get a second opinion but he started to do a procedure without my permission. The doctor apparently never seems to have time, even though you have to wait a while before the appointment. The staff is rude and they charged me $289 for, no joke, a 7 minute visit! I went back to ask why so much, to find out they charged me for the base cost ($89), then $200 for a biopsy and acne consultation. All the doctor did was prescribe me a cream, which by the way never went through to the pharmacy. I didn't go in for acne, and clearly stated that, but regardless they falsely charged me for acne consultation and biopsy! Biopsy?? Really?? Absolutely nothing of the sort was done! I rarely write reviews but people need to know this is a terrible place. The front desk people are very unfriendly and rude. The first time I went I saw a doctor who spent all of 3 minutes with me. His prescription didn't work so I went back the next week. I was supposed to see a doctor but saw a physician assistant, which I wasn't told and found out later. The PA was one of the rudest, more arrogant women I have ever met...treated me like I was beneath her. The whole experience was horrible...they are only 5 minutes from me but I would rather drive 30 minutes than to go back to this place again. read more

The doctor was in my room for maybe 5 minutes and treated me with the same amount of liquid nitrogen that you can buy at Wal-mart. I was charged about $200 for the "destruction" of three tiny bumps- even though the treatment didn't do anything. Also, I was charged an additional $80 for the office visit alone. When I came into the office to ask about the bill, the women at the front desk had annoyed and unkind attitudes. When I called the billing office, the woman I spoke to was rude and had a very irritated tone. These people do not care if their patients are happy as long as they get their money. Very nice place. Funny and kind office people and assistants, but they get serious when it's time to get serious. I've been a patient of Dr. Reschly for 6 years. He takes the time to get to know the patient and remembers you for future visits. He keeps a close watch over my skin--which needs it.
