As someone who has a hard time letting others help for fear of anything less than perfect I was nervous to have a planner, but I cannot stress how much faith & trust I had in Carlee after our meetings together. Each time I mentioned to another one of our vendors that Carlee was our coordinator they praised us for making such a great choice! My husband & I have since talked to several of our friends who are planning their weddings & each time he says that hiring Carlee was the best decision we made. The days leading up to the wedding she sent out emails to each vendor double & triple checking they will be there at the correct time & always clued us in if there was any clarification needed. It was important to us to have a relaxed & enjoyable time at our wedding, as I'm sure most people hope for. Though I've yet to see that happen for others, as the day of is usually spent with family & the bride & groom running around setting up & making sure all is where it should be. The morning of our wedding I got a visit from Carlee, where she gleefully checked in & collected our vendor thank yous to pass out later for us. Then she was back downstairs creating the most beautiful ceremony/reception space we ever could have imagined. We had a walkthrough the day before where she took notes about what we envisioned & if something was different the day of, it was only because she had thought of a better & more efficient way to do it. If we ever decide to renew our vows we will be calling you again Carlee, maybe then we can do a warm destination trip to Hawaii! I requested to book with 5 of my close girlfriends for a weekend to go up and spend a relaxing girls trip away for my birthday as we all enjoy hiking and being outdoors. Jocelyn messaged me asking what our reason for travel was as well as what our age group was. I responded saying it was for my 30th birthday we wanted a relaxing getaway to hike and enjoy the beautiful place, and that we were all in our 30s. She immediately rejected my request and said they've had horrible experiences with birthday parties and good luck finding something else. I feel like this was unfair to reject our group due to assumptions and because we were celebrating my birthday. I messaged her back respectfully trying to explain we were a responsible group of women in our 30s going to hike, relax and spend quality time enjoying each others company. Yet no response, just a rejection for our request to stay. My friends and I have great reviews on Airbnb for guests, we are all working professionals and we usually leave airbnbs cleaner than we find them. I'm very frustrated with my experience with trying to book Jocelyn and Gus' place especially after reading all the great reviews. They didn't even give us a chance to stay there for no good reason..

I was recently in Pemberton for the weekend and decided to stop by Pemberton Distillery for a quick…read moretasting. Before going, make sure you check their hours on their website. At the end of October when I went, they're only open Friday and Saturday afternoons. Our experience there was super chill. We rang the door and someone let us in. I forgot his name, but he was one of the brothers behind the operation. He then introduced us to their liquors and we picked which ones we wanted to try. We tried a variety of liquors, including their vodka, ginger and honey, coffee, scotch, apple brandy, and kartoffelschnaps. Our favorite was the vodka, as it's one of the smoothest vodka's I've ever tried. The coffee liquor was also very good if you're a coffee drinker, but I personally am not a huge fan of the coffee taste. We bought a bottle of the vodka, scotch, and ginger and honey liquor away with us. Prices were reasonable. For example, a 750 ml bottle of vodka was $35. You can also take a couple steps into their distillery space. We went in to take a look and also was given a high level introduction to their distilling process.

Oh, and of course there's a healthy sized tasting post-tour at the bar with your very own Schramm's glass. The word on the Pemberton street is that Tyler is concocting a small batch of Organic Single Malt Whisky this summer. But unfortunately, we will have to wait a few more years to sample this barrel of local gold. Damn you Oak Casks!
