Nortex Painting We hired Nortex Painting to paint our kitchen cabinets for $4,000. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We were originally told the cabinet doors would be painted in the garage. Later we were told there was not enough room -- even though we provided the same amount of space inside the kitchen. This change was never clearly explained. The primer used was extremely strong and toxic. The fumes were so intense that our eyes watered and we had difficulty breathing. We were never advised to ventilate the home properly or consider staying elsewhere during this stage of the project. We were also told the cabinets would be thoroughly washed and prepped before painting. That did not appear to happen. Additionally, the cabinet doors were hung from the top during painting, which left visible punch holes. They should have been hung from the bottom to avoid damage. After the job was completed, we requested the owner come inspect the work. His response to our concerns was that "there was only one person who was ever perfect," which did not address the issues we raised. Communication was also difficult, as the workers did not speak English and we were unable to discuss concerns directly during the project. Overall, we expected a professional, properly prepped cabinet job for $4,000 and did not feel the quality matched the price. read more

Excellent work.  Plan to contact them again for another project.  After much research, it was narrowed down to 3 companies and received quotes from each.  The quotes were within $100 of each other, so that was not a deciding factor.  With each, we walked through every room and pointed out work to be done to include patch, repair and paint.  Our decision was made when Jason from NorTex really listened to what WE wanted done instead of dwelling on the way they usually handle it. One separation and crack was deep and long, and we wanted to replace the sheetrock instead of patching the crack.  Jason said yes and spoke with knowledge about how it would be done and the expertise his crew had in blending the new material invisibly into the wall, especially one skilled worker who could spray on the texture to match.  And it does.  Thomas did a beautiful job.  Jason also recommended a paint with a very low matte finish to blend in with our existing.  Some of the newer paints, even classified as matte, have more of a sheen which would reflect the light in a way that was different from our other paints.  He came by each day to check on the job and was easy to reach, responding quickly.  When he wasn't here, we could communicate effectively in English with the group leader, Thomas.  Finally, they exhibited respect for our property and happily moved furniture and other items, and cleaned up everything when they left.  Would recommend them highly. read more

We have used NorTex for multiple projects in recent years and Jason and team have consistently exceeded our high expectations. The crew led by Tomas is particularly tidy, efficient, friendly, and they deliver high attention to detail. The dry-wall repair work is superb. They competed a significant ceiling drywall repair in part of a room and were careful to not get a spec of dust elsewhere in the recently renovated room. They did not leave any material fragments in our home or in our yard. Their sign stands in our front lawn because we proudly recommend them to our neighbors--several of which have also had great experiences with Jason, Luther, and NorTex. Jason delivers a high level of fairness and integrity. I trust Jason and Nortex with my home and we do not say that very readily about a home service provider. Fantastic job from beginning to end. Luther thoroughly explained what needed and/ or recommended what needed to be done for our exterior painting project, very detailed. He went over and beyond what the other people quoting for the job did. The two person team were very efficient and did an amazing job and completed in two days! NorTx did a good job for me. Luther explained what could be done and produced a reasonable, understandable quote. Our inside paint job was complicated, with some rooms needing work and other rooms not. Paint colors were difficult (I had to have the kitchen cabinets redone due to MY error). Another room needed minor paint and trim work with baseboards and ceiling crowns being replaced after painting. A staircase had to be painted..the list goes on. Through it all, Luther was incredibly patient and efficient. He worked with me on scheduling around other crews that were working. As to the painting itself, the painters are almost too fast and they make minor errors. As long as Luther or the other owner are there for a walk through, the errors will be corrected. I have no complaints, and would recommend NorTx as long as you can stay on top of the job. read more

Updating my review now that it's been a couple of weeks since the work was completed. Have since discovered a number of defective items: nails holes have re-appeared that were supposed to have been filled in but now it is clear they were just painted over, broken items not disclosed, drywall repairs that are already showing cracks, paint on carpets that was not cleaned, etc. Would round up to 2.5 stars if I could since much of the work still looks okay, but would not use again for future jobs. You can trust NorTex to do a great job on your gutters. We are very happy with ours! They also fixed some wood rot and painted the exterior of our house. It looks much better now and is better equipped for the next big rain. read more

Jason and team did a great job for us. This was the first time we had to have the entire exterior painted so I had them repair the gutters, reseal all of the windows and doors and they did a very nice job painting the exterior, including the stucco sections. would caution you before hiring these people. The owner/estimator tells you everything you want to hear but he isn't the person coming to do the work. The guys that painted barely looked legal and didn't speak any English except for 1. Not to mention, they wrecked my house, didn't put any furniture back, got paint on EVERYTHING, broke the blind clips, didn't patch all of the holes like they said they would, and was not the quality workmanship I was told would happen. They came back numerous times after I spoke up about it and I'm still finding paint on things. There was absolutely no communication beforehand other than some text messages. The last day, the painters rushed and did a sloppy job on the garage so they could get to another job. They left my garage with a layer of dust from their sprayer on everything and had the audacity to tell me it was already like that. The owner responded to my complaints by being argumentative and insulting. Not a professional and apparently not on the same page as his painters. They would consistently tell me different answers to concerns I had throughout the process. Please don't hire this company unless you have lots of time to make sure they are doing what they tell you will be done and you want to spend weeks cleaning up their mess. read more
