We then set up a time to speak on the phone to discuss the situation in further detail. She was very helpful and told me that another therapist, Erica, would be getting in touch shortly to schedule the evaluation. We set up the appointment shortly thereafter. Erica arrived at our home right on time and was wonderful, patient, responsive, and knows her stuff! I was very impressed. We also decided to do an evaluation at my child's school which was easily scheduled. My child's teachers noted how great Erica was- they were also impressed. I was very happy with the knowledge and services of this group!

Tracy was very responsive…read moreto all of my questions when I first sought her out, and helped answer all of my crazy questions. Our speech therapist, Erica, is so great with our 5-year old son. It has probably been about half a year now, and we have seen so much progress in his language development. Our son looks forward to his speech sessions and has fun while learning. I love receiving the detailed summary after each session, as well as helpful / relevant assignments that we can print out and work with at home. Erica is engaging, patient, friendly and professional. The activities continue to evolve as our son's language develops, and it's clear that the plan is individualized and personalized to his specific needs. As you know, there is no "one-size-fits-all" plan for these kind of things. We could not be any happier with Lakeview Speech and Language Clinic. If you are looking for a speech therapist for your child, just call up Tracy. She is the best!

To be clear of my experience: Therapist was outstanding…read more Reason behind my rating: When I had originally enrolled my son to work with this facility my first and most important request was that he would have the ability to work with the same therapist. In receiving services with cps there was a lot inconsistency with services and the therapist was changing frequently. So naturally I thought that if we paid for private services this problem can be avoided. So I searched for a private practice . I was assured that the request for having my child consistently work with the same therapist would be fulfilled. Those assurances gave me peace of mind and with that we enroll our child. Now I'm being informed that my child will no longer be able to work with the same therapist due to policy change. I asked what the out of pocket expense would be to keep my son with the same therapist and was informed that "regrettably" that wasn't an option. Again I re-iterated to the facility prior to enrollment the importance it was for me to have 1 instructor work with my child. And now (a few short months later) my family and I can no longer be accommodated.

I probably should've written this review a year ago, but I put it off and was inspired to do so…read moreafter talking with my daughter's current therapy team. We came to City Kids after the commute to my daughter's previous therapy team became too far. She needed PT/OT/Speech therapy. The PT and the SLP were great, the OT was ok, seemed annoyed most days, but that's fine, I get it. The reason we left, and why I'm writing this review, is because of the office manager. Long story short, in the transition from our previous therapy office to City Kids, the office failed to take into account that we had already used visits for the year under our old therapists when billing our insurance, even though I notified them several times that she had used visits for the year and gave them the contact info for our previous therapists office. I asked multiple times if we needed updated orders "Nope, everything is fine" Well, it wasn't. We needed new orders, therefore insurance was refusing to cover the visits. Fine. People make mistakes. However, when I spoke to the office manager about it, she was completely rude and condescending, refused to take any accountability. Yelling at me. I think she assumed that I didn't know how the system worked and that I was just a young mom she could scream at. Mind you, I have a medically complex child, who is in and out of the hospital on a regular basis, has received regular therapy for years. Not to mention, I've worked in healthcare for 15 years as a NP. So I know the system, and I know where the ball was dropped. She also kept referring to our "city insurance" in an almost derogatory way, which I found insulting. The BCBS PPO is actually pretty good, and we've never had any issues with our hundreds of insurance submissions up until this point. The office manager was beyond unprofessional. I have never delt with someone so nasty in any of my interactions with other therapy offices, hospitals, doctor's office's, etc. As a provider, I would never conduct myself the way she did. It is extremely stressful having a sick kid, and having to deal with the additional stress she caused our family was really disappointing. People make mistakes, but the way it was handled was inappropriate. We left City Kids and now have an awesome team....that has never had a problem with our insurance.... shocking. I'm glad some people have had a good experience here, but we did not. I would especially avoid if you have a City of Chicago BCBS PPO plan....apparently the office manager looks down on city workers. I would give it one star, but the therapists were decent, so two stars.

Not only is he very knowledgeable in his field but he is SO funny , when he did my stretches it hurt BAD but he kept my attention on other things so I didn't pay attention to the pain . He listens to what you are saying . I know when I was having a bad day (as far as pain) and would let him know and he wouldn't push me to do anything that would make it worse ! Some therapists will think you are lying and push you past your comfort level , which Josh has said will end up hurting you more . Helen at the front desk is a peach !!! She handled all the calls to insurance companies and getting my sessions approved . Always had a smile on her face and super friendly. If I ever need occupational therapy again , I will return to see Josh for sure!!
