I also had a Denon integrated amp that started the "power down due to overheating or something" error about a year after I bought it, and they had me send it to Normans. Right off the bat communication was lacking. I waited about a month before calling to ask if they had gotten it which they had. When I sent my equipment in, I filled out a lot of of paperwork describing exactly what had happened. When I got a call from the technician he had obviously not read any of it. He said "works for me, if it aint broke i cant fix it". He suggested trying different outlets which I had done. I mentioned that I had seen many instances of the exact same symptoms online and they were often fixed. He said he had been working there for years and never seen that happen. (google denon PMA 800ne blinking red light automatic shutdown). I asked if he didn't mind please take another look and he was rude but said ok. Then he put my equipment on a bench plugged in for a few months during which I didnt hear anything. Thats what I was told anyway. When I called Denon they told me "the guy said nothing is wrong sorry" and thats it. I asked if I might have my stereo back in that case and they ignored me. I finally out of nowhere did get it back, and when it arrived there was cuts over and around every case screw where a knife or wrong screwdriver appeared to have been used. It was covered in white dust or something and the cord was so tightly wrapped i was surprised it got power at all. I took pictures of this and video of testing it. I plugged it in and blam immediate shutdown. I took it to another plug in a different room and it lasted a little longer then same. In fairness to them I called and was told to have my power checked and I did not get my power checked. It did run for over a year on that same power but maybe it was too low and at the repair place they used a power supply with very clean power or something i dont know but by this point i was done. I had wasted a lot of time on this even outside of dealing with what I described. read more

James ,the technician assigned to do the repair was here initally December 6, 2024 and determined a control board was bad and ordered a replacement and said it would take 3-5 business days for the part to arrive. The part arrived at my door step on Monday 12-6-24 and James returned on 12-10-24 a little earlier than the 2-4 pm window and got right to work and the dryer was up and working within 30 minutes. James even vacuumed behind the dryer for me as there was a lot of dust and lint behind the dryer. He also made sure the dryer was working properly before he left. Overall very satisfied with the work performed. read more

Bought a Tempur-Pedic adjustable base bed. We enjoy the product, but Tempur-Pedic has a terrible third-party warranty support network. We had a problem with one of the features of the adjustable bed base right after purchase. No worries, as we all know sometimes there are problems and they just need to be fixed. So, we opened a ticket with Tempur-Pedic at their 800#. Throughout the call it was "we" will send "our" technician out . . . "we", "we", "we" will have it repaired. Fine, no problem. Sounds great. Thank you. But in the end, and not to split hairs, Tempur-Pedic does not go out of their way to let you know up front they subcontract that type of work out. More on that in a moment. The technician, Corey Smith, from Norman's Electronics came and immediately blamed the problem we are experiencing on a "manufacturer's flaw". Mr. Smith said there is nothing that can be done and recommended we just not use that feature. This is a brand-new Tempur-Pedic adjustable bed base with a brand-new warranty. Mr. Smith left with our new Tempur-Pedic adjustable bed base in the same condition prior to his arrival. When I followed-up with Tempur-Pedic, this is when things began to turn bad. Now, suddenly, it was no longer "we" or "our" technician, it was "their" technician (Norman's Electronics' technician) and "there is no such manufacturer's flaw". So here we are, the customer, stuck between a manufacturer's contractor blaming the manufacturer and the manufacturer blaming their contractor. I placed a follow-up call to Tempur-Pedic. I gave Tempur-Pedic Norman's Electronics and Corey Smith's names advising them we have already been told the diagnosis is there is "nothing" that can be done due to the problem being a "manufacturer's flaw", so dispatching Norman's Electronics will just be a waste of everyone's time. Tempur-Pedic said they understand and would take care of the problem. A few days later, Corey Smith of Norman's Electronics called me to come the following day. I declined reminding Mr. Smith he already diagnosed the problem as being a "manufacturer's flaw" and there is "nothing" ne nor Norman's Electronics can do about it. Mr. Smith said he does not remember and "does not have access to the record on 'this' computer". Whatever. I advised him to be sure he is not wasting his time by coming out. We both agreed he would not come out. Phew! Mr. Smith is a big man who does not seem to like getting down on our floor with our clean carpeting to look at the problem, not even in his dirty shoes. I contacted Tempur-Pedic again and asked what would have changed from the first time Corey Smith of Norman's Electronics having been here and a return service call from Corey Smith of Norman's Electronics. Tempur-Pedic this time dispatched Rattigan Rapid Repair whose technician diagnosed and made the repair in a matter of 30 minutes total time. The Tempur-Pedic adjustable bed frame now works great and we love it . . . ALL the features now. Funny how companies will present a "butterflies and birds chirping" warranty / service support structure at the time of product sale, but stick the customer in the middle of a "finger pointing exercise" when there is a problem no one wants to take responsibility for. James came to my house to replace the motor in my Tempur-Pedic bed, and he did an outstanding job. He was punctual and very courteous. After replacing the motor, he took the time to ensure I understood all the features of the remote. I highly recommend James and Norman's Electronic for their excellent service. read more

I needed a warranty repair for a dryer I bought at Lowes. I had two previous repairs for a blown heating element which the repair person told me was a venting issue. I knew that was not the case. They said they would not repair it again unless I had the vent professionally cleaned and dismissed my objections that I did not believe this to be the issue. I kept having issues and decided to call a different repair company - so I tried Norman's. James was awesome!! He listened to what I was telling him. He had to come back three times and we talked on the phone several times before we finally diagnosed the issue which was that the installers had cracked the electrical block where the cord is attached and failed to install a support for the cord which was causing electrical shorts and arcing. So basically, James taking the time that he did, kept my house from catching on fire. No one else took the time to listen or troubleshoot the issue which had been going on for several years. They made me aware upfront of the diagnostic charges and told me honestly that it eoylobr worth the charges which I appreciated. They also disposed of the tv for me. Very disappointed all around. They received my amp in one day being as I shipped it over night to them, but yet it took 2 plus weeks to hear from them. And that's only because I called them. When I called, they had no idea who I was or anything about my amp, even with the proper paperwork that was in with the unit when shipped. So needless to say, they took my $69.00 diagnostic fee and I waited about 2 more weeks and had to call back. At this point I was told that parts are no longer available for this amp. So, I decided to call the manufacture myself and not only were parts available, I presented them with my invoice and was sent a new amp being as Norman's Electronics could not get the job done. I work for an electronics company and deal with costumers and their warranty repairs and multiple repair facilities and this by far is the worst of them all. read more

Norman's just popped up on a factory-authorized service center list, and reminded me of what a hideous experience I had several years back. I brought in vintage JBL speakers to have the woofer cones re-foamed, since that model was discontinued and replacement drivers were not available. They claimed they knew how to do it properly. Multiple delays and over a month later, I get them back, paper cones CUT SMALLER, and sounding even worse than when I brought them in. Refused to take any responsibility for the problem. Had to throw the speakers away after their "repair." Avoid like the plague. read more

I have always been pleased with their professionalism and expertise. (there aren't many left who know their stuff when it comes to electronics repair) In this last visit, they were very responsive, reliable, and honest in correcting a problem that they voluntarily said had been their mistake. They were the contractor selected by Asurion to come fix my fridge and they required me to help them move the fridge and sign a damage waiver! That's not my responsibility, my warranty is with Asurion NOT Norman Electronics. Additionally, they arrived the first time and spent 2 minutes looking at the fridge and the tech said, "I'm not 100% I can fix this so I'll order some parts to throw at it." After waiting 4 weeks the parts never showed up...I called and that's when they refused to come do the work without me signing the damage waiver. I told them I wouldn't sign it and they should handle that with Asurion (my warranty provider) and they refused to come repair my fridge. Find someone else who will take responsibility for their actions, Norman clearly won't! read more

I received a high end amplifier that they tried to repair. I received with all internal fasteners broken and incorrectly reassembled. Now a simple repair will cost the customer an unfortunate amount f money to restore to proper condition. Do not bring High End audio to people who claim to fix everthing.... read more

I NEVER take the time to leave bad reviews. Typically it's handled in-house and I let it go. I'm taking the time to write this review due to the rudeness, unprofessionalism, and miscommunication with this company. They were scheduled to do a service for my tv. The technician came out, did the diagnostics and ordered the part. The tech nor the company advised me that in order to fix the tv, it needed to be off the wall. I asked the tech to call into the office and explain the mixup and that's when the real problem for me started. The manager Jamie Norman was extremely rude to me. He didn't want to here the issue I had and told me he didn't have time that he had other customers. He also stated that he had more important issues as they had a lot going on in the office at the moment. I again tried to explain my issue and while I was speaking with him he began talking with another customer. Long story short, I'm a small business owner and understand that my business is entirely built upon those I SERVE. When I get TOO busy to serve my customers, I'll lose my business. I would not recommend this company for repairs. The diagnostics was all wrong, the communication was off and the customer service from the management was the worst I've ever experience. He did apologize at the end but it was after I stood my ground and stated I would file a report. BG read more

Very unsatisfied with service. Here is my experience with Norman's Electronics in 2015. In Sept I had a power surge at my house, which I believe blew out the HDMI processors in my Samsung Plasma TV. I loved my TV, and wanted to repair it and not have to buy a new one. I called Norman's. It took a few weeks, but a tech finally came out. Sept 30 -- Tech comes out. Does not physically touch the TV. Agrees that the processing board is shot, and charges me $109 for the visit and $226 to buy the part. These amounts are immediately charged to my credit card. He says the part should arrive in a couple of weeks, and that I should call them to check. Oct 20 -- Had heard nothing. Called about the part. No answer. Called back later in the day. They said the part was scheduled to arrive in six days, and that they tentatively scheduled a repair for Oct 26. This repair was scheduled without talking to me. They said to call back Oct 23 to check. Oct 23 -- Called back. They said the part was impossible to get, and they could come out and remove the part, and send it off for repair. I asked about cost. The guy I spoke with wasn't sure, but said that he would have a repair technician call me the morning of Oct 26. Oct 30 -- No one called me. I called them back. I was forwarded to a technician's voice mail. I left a message asking that he call me back. I never heard from him. Nov 4 -- Norman's has still, not once, communicated anything to me in any way. I see that $226 has been refunded to my credit card. Nov 7 -- Called Norman's again. Spoke with someone and asked for all of my money back. They apologized for not being able to repair the TV. I explained that my issue was not with my TV not being repaired, it was with their poor service and communication. This person had to escalate the issue. Later in the day they called back to say they would refund all of my money. Finally, Norman's contacts me. Dec 7 -- I check my credit card statement and see no refund. I call them. The person I speak with says they have to check with Billing. I ask that I be called back with an update. He agrees to call me back. Dec 9 -- Still have heard nothing, however they did refund my money. Norman's Electronics gets one star from me because of a failure. The failure is not that they were unable to repair my TV. The failure is that they did not communicate with me in anyway about the progress of the repair, even when they explicitly agreed to. read more

I drove to their location with an expensive LCD TV that needed repair. The older gentleman at the counter talked on the phone for 10 minutes while I waited, not once acknowledging my presence. In those 10 minutes he repeated his advice five times to someone that didn't even sound like a customer. I confronted him, he was rude. I walked out, minutes after another waiting customer did the same. I thought customer service was about prompt attention and courtesy. Apparently the customer is not always right. Terrible. Norman's made a house call to repair our 75" Sony XBR 4K TV. During the call they determined the TV had self destructed. Apparently the large amount of back lighting on this model is integral to the main panel and cannot be repaired without replacing the whole Panel which is cost prohibitive. The TV had totaled itself. Problems started trying to get Warranty remuneration. The Warranty finally did remunerate a bit over 90% of the value of the TV, but it required over a month of sending more and more information to the Warranty Co. - VISA Card Benefit Services. Norman's was extremely patient with this process and three times helped with additional information or reformatting the previously provided information into the format the Warranty Co wanted. Without Norman's patience and help we never would have received the Warranty Remuneration. We appreciate their accurate diagnosis, patience, and professionalism. read more

I had a Sony sound bar that was not working. I used Norman's because they are a Sony authorized repair shop and the only one near in Georgia. Long story short they had my sound bar for 3 months called and said it was finally done. Picked it up brought it home and the Digital Optical Audio connection was broken. Let's but it this way a 7 year old in China could have done a better job on my unit and would not have made it worse then it was before I brought it in. Stay away from these people. If you have a Sony product that needs to be fixed just send it to Sony, you have been warned. read more

Stay away if you can. I needed warranty service for my Pioneer DJ mixer. Put simply, the problem was resolved, but upon further review I noticed damage to my faders and missing screws around the mic input. I didn't notice the screws until just now, but I brought the damaged faders to the attention of the manager and individual who performed the work on my mixer. I tried explaining that there is a locking mechanism as demonstrated by a easily-found youtube video (just search "pioneer fader lock" and you can see what I tried to show him) which prevents the faders from being easily removed by pulling up. I was told, "No, I've been doing this for years and they all work the same. I will *try* to get you a couple faders you can stick on there." I was initially satisfied, thinking I was mistaken about the feature, but when I recalled that in fact they were NOT supposed to be able to be easily removed by pulling up, I tried to bring that to the attention of the Manager/Tech but he would have none of it. He told me it is just as good to pull them off as it is to unlock it the way I eventually showed him (once my phone would load the video). He refused to be corrected and refused to admit any mistake, instead blaming ME for the damage. The gentleman got very heated and upset, despite my 100% polite and respectful approach. I said, "I'm not trying to give you a hard time," to which he simply kept replying, "Yes, you are." I only wanted my $2000 mixer properly repaired, but he told me I had to go and contact Pioneer. So that's what I'm doing and my saga continues. I would never go back to this shop for any reason. It seems they are quite accustomed to angry customers, which I wasn't, but was treated as such anyway. I was very polite but firm about my issue. They are an authorized Pioneer repair shop which Pioneer themselves directed me to. I was shocked and appalled that even after showing the proper method for removing the fader, I was still told, 'no, that doesn't matter, you can still pull it straight off just as well.' That defies the actual feature Pioneer uses in this mixer. The damage to two of the faders appears to have been from using a string or cord and slipping it under the fader and pulling straight up. Needless to say, I'm pretty sure that broke the P-Lock locking mechanisms, but Norman's refused to acknowledge it and turned me away. These guys are old, tired and seem to not know what they are doing. When I asked them to pull up a youtube video for explanation purposes they staunchly refused. I asked them to observe the video on my phone and they continued to refuse but I was able to coax that big baby of a manager/technician to view the relevant part of the video, only to have him further deny and tell me it didn't matter. I've never seen such a bad level of service from an authorized pioneer repair shop, and I've let them know of this situation. Instead of understanding the issue, it all got pushed back on me as if it were all my fault and I was lucky for him to offer to give me some faders eventually as he would "try" to find me some. I pressed him and he told me he definitely would, but I expected a higher level of service given how bad they messed up. I saw the bad reviews here before, but since I needed warranty service I figured I had no choice and since it was free to me I didn't care. Now I totally understand why this place sucks, and I will call Wizard electronics after I finish this and beg them to become an authorized Pioneer repair shop, because I haven't had any issues with them, yet. I would drive out of state or pay for shipping to any other Pioneer repair shop before going back here. These guys are just lame and were rude to me. There is little-to-no professionalism in the work performed or the interaction and I'm now waiting and working to fix the damage that Norman's Electronics caused, and later tried to blame me for. read more

My Philips plasma TV died right after being laid off. I called Philips, who basically said since my warranty was up, I was SOL. They said the TV could last any where from two to eight years...way to give yourself some flexibility, Philips! Anyway, I thought what the hell and went back to Costco, where I originally purchased the TV in 2006--yes, you read right, 2006. And to my surprise and absolute delight, Costco took responsibility for my TV!!!! They paid to have NEI come out and fix it. NEI's Clarence did a wonderful job and had it back up and running in no time. I was very impressed with his obvious skill and professionalism. I would highly recommend to all to shop at Costco and use NEI for any service needs. read more

Do not use this company! They have had my tv for 2 1/2 months. They lost it for a while. They then lost my mounting brackets. They get angry and rude with the customer. They transfer you to dead phones and then do not answer the phone. I am not sure if I ever will get my belongings back. I am about to turn it over to my legal counsel. read more

Normans was my only option to repair my Onkyo receiver that was still under warranty so I took it to them. I was told it would take them 10 days just to look at it and then they would do the repairs. Well it has now been over a month and I still don't have my receiver back. After calling them I was told they still don't even have the parts and it will be another week just to get the parts in. Given this experience I would never give them any of my money whether it is making a purchase or paying for a repair. Look elsewhere for your electronics repairs. read more

I had to take my Denon in for repair, for they are the only authorized warranty repair shop in the Atlanta area. I was worried because of the bad reviews on here but not wanting to ship my unit, I gave them a shot. Happy I did, I took my Home Theater/Receiver in yesterday, received a call today that the repair was done and it was ready for pick up. I have now re-hooked everything back up to it, tested it all, and it works great. I am a very happy customer who would highly recommend them. I will update my review if anything negative was to happen with the unit in the near future. read more

Do not do business with these crooks. They will lie to you and tell you that you're parts are in, then tell you that they sent the wrong parts. Then you'll call again, and they will say that the parts just arrived, and that the tech will call tomorrow to set up an appointment. This happened three times. My Mcintosh power amp started experiencing output problems and I contacted Normans. I was a little concerned after reading some older Google reviews, but "reading between the lines" it became apparent that some of these folks were trashing this company for things outside of their control. The availability of repair parts and the time to get them can be a challenge for anyone. A service company is at the mercy of the manufacturer of the product to obtain parts. Normans answered my call promptly, explained the cost and expected time to repair in a very courteous and professional manner. I delivered my amp to them, and got it back 10 days later working wonderfully. The cost was actually $30 LESS than I had approved. There is a reason these people have been in business for 57 years and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Had warranty problem with Onkyo Receiver. Sent it to Norman's. Took a while, really because Onkyo is in no hurry apparently to ship parts.
