The location is unbeatable and it is accessible to everything that the beautiful and charming downtown of Doylestown has to offer with their bookstores, bars, restaurants, and shopping. The town even has a stand alone movie theatre. The Inn is charming, historic, quaint, cozy, and was decorated beautifully for the holidays. The Inn staff was very welcoming and warm and attached to a rustic restaurant called the Hattery Stove & Still (worth the visit). We stayed in the George Washington room on the second floor. It was a nice and quiet location and we only had a neighbor across from us and no rooms next to us on either side. Everything in our room worked to perfection and the housekeeping staff did their job nicely. There was a very visible rusted air vent in the bathroom that needed replacing and the mattress was very soft, not firm, causing us to fold into the center of the bed. There were no coffeemakers in the rooms but a carafe of hot water with a tea selection as well as a carafe of coffee in the lobby after 10:00 pm. Sadly, it is not there all day but only late at night. When our friend came down in the early morning for a cup of coffee, he mentioned it was cold and went across the street to Starbucks. The Inn does not have private parking so we were directed to the public parking lot, a half a block away, and the street parking. Parking was not free and you will have to pay during the day, however, there is no charge for overnight parking. The rates were inexpensive considering where I live in New Jersey. The price of the Inn was very reasonable and we would not hesitate to stay here again. None of these things I mentioned bothered my wife and I and we only point them out for your information only. The Inn is only 15 minutes from Peddler's Village and just a tad longer to New Hope, PA. This is a great location to stay and make the trips.

I am really familiar with the event space downstairs. I've attended events and showcases in The Lafayette Ballroom. The room is large and can fit so many people. I believe 300. The ceilings are high and it's quite impressive. There's an outdoor area perfect for cocktail hour and an inclosed lounge area too. I've seen it draped, which is stunning and dramatic and left bare, showcasing the exposed bricks walls. Both gorgeous looks! This weekend, the party I was at took place in the lobby, which they decorated and draped how they wanted in their theme, in the downstairs bar area, and in the American Ballroom, which was much more intimate and cozy! The food here is catered strictly by Garces Events and is always a crowd pleaser. I've had tastes of a Cinco de Mayo themed event with mini churros and delicious baby tacos, a fancy event with gorgeous plated ceviches, lamb meatball skewers and other finer dining bites, and a casual buffet this past weekend. All different. All delicious! All events also included passed appetizers also. It seems like you could really create your own special menu here! The staff is wonderful! From the front desk helping me with information on a room, to the valet guys, to our waitress who introduced herself to our table at an our event, to the nice bartender who grabbed me a glass of club and lime long after the event was over, to the other friendly bartender mixing my signature smoking cocktail this past weekend, the entire staff have all been truly helpful, overly friendly and knowledgeable of their facility. The grounds here are gorgeous! There's a lush green golf course and even a helicopter pad for your rich friends haha. From the higher floors and the lobby entrance you can see for miles and it's stunning, especially lit up at night! It's also exceptionally beautiful in the fall from the higher floors! I would absolutely recommend CHUBB for a wedding or mitzvah celebration. It's a 'one stop shop', especially if you have guests from out of town. And I love the taste of Philly you get with Garces just outside the city! It's always a treat coming here!

Not sure if he is still there, as this was ten years ago. Recently, I've been back for some meetings, including an all day meeting today. Wow, I was impressed last time when Wolfgang Puck ran the kitchen... Now Iron Chef Jose Garces group runs this place? Unreal... I arrived for my meeting and grabbed a quick continental breakfast. The meeting rooms were well organized, with notepads and pens for the guests. All of the equipment was working in all of the rooms and there were no technical issues at all. During one of our breaks, the breakfast food was gone, but candy and nuts were in it's place. Sweedish fish and almonds became my early morning snack. More meetings and then lunch time. We walk past the hotel section and I find out the food is now run by Jose Garces' group. There was a taco section, where they were making up these perfect little tacos. I was able to make my own corned beef sandiwch, along with homemade potato chips. I grabbed some fried chicken, pork tenderloin, and tortillas with guacamole. The pork was a little dry, but had great spicy flavor. Service excelled as waiters took our drink orders and pulled out chairs for guests to sit down. I decided to grab dessert and went with the pear cobbler with white chocolate sauce, but as soon as I sat down, I ran back to get one more short rib perfect taco. After eating that, I devoured the refreshing pear cobbler. Our next meeting would be starting soon, so we started back, but then we noticed an ice cream machine. Why not grab a small cone for the long walk back? well, I did. More meetings and then we had more snacks. A popcorn machine? Cheese, crackers? Waffles??? Amazing waffles with powedered sugar? I don't need dinner now, because I went to a conference at the Chubb center. Pure gluttony and now I have to wait until next year for my next meeting...

Went downstairs for breakfast and saw two tiny tables all occupied, we were fortunate to have 2 seats left for us. Another couple walked in and couldn't even sit down for breakfast. The breakfast was the worst part and not what we were expecting. Bland scrambled eggs, 2 pieces of bacon that tasted like cardboard and dry toast. Yummy! Location was my only positive for being right in the center of Doylestown. Again this was a $300 night stay, it just didn't meet our expectations.

Although my plan was to stay in New Hope for the night, the only availabilities were located outside of NH. Doylestown is located about 15 minutes away from New Hope. I consider myself lucky that we couldn't find a place in New Hope as our stay in Doylestown at HF was the best part of our little getaway. The innkeeper, Christine is beyond lovely and caring. She is friendly and more than helpful in making sure our say was nothing short of perfect. She cooked us a terrific breakfast of blueberry pancakes. Major yum! The B&B is about a 1 minute walk from the downtown area which I highly recommend, in my opinion, it was more enjoyable than New Hope. The stay also comes with some american history. This was the home of Oscar Hammerstein where he wrote his most famous works. You could definitely sense some musical magic within the walls. Highly recommended for a great weekend or night of relaxation and comfort in Bucks County. We will be back!
