In 2010 we contracted with Hepler to install a six ton WaterFurnace geothermal unit with the…read moreanticipation that our KWH consumption would be considerably less than our electric ceramic furnace. The anticipated savings never occurred and a few years after the installation we began experiencing a fault code. We would call Hepler and they would instruct us to turn the power to the furnace off and back on and the code would clear. In 2021 the code occurred more frequently and we asked another WaterFurnace contractor to inspect the unit. As a result it was found that Hepler had installed four wells instead of the required six wells which made it necessary for the electric heat to activate during colder temperatures thus increasing our KWH consumption.We then consulted with another WaterFurnace contractor who agreed with the first that there should have been six wells. As a result we had to have two additional wells and a new WaterFurnace unit installed. We have been unable to resolve this matter with Hepler and although costly we have no choice but to litigate the matter.
