Parking at the mall is convenient - pay by app or a link sent by text (we paid $3 for 3 hours so $1/hr.) There is Happy hour from 3-6pm like at other locations: 1/2 off select appetizers and pizza, discount on some alcoholic beverages. Great deal - our app orders came out to about $5-$7 each. Still enjoyed the sliders, tenders which came with fries; more generous with the calamari here; fried cheese curds are like mozzarella bits; liked the crispy brussell sprouts, well more burnt than crispy but liked them anyway. I know we ordered mostly fried food but there were other options for HH. We just didn't feel like having nachos, boneless wings and pizza. Blackened ahi tuna sandwich was good although some found the sauce a bit salty. Added $2 to change fries to onion rings. Mac and cheese had fried mushrooms and oil which we had on the side. We went on a weekday, so not as busy. Service was friendly and fast. Food came out pretty quickly and got drink refills when needed.

ORIGIN: Chef/Owner Jeff Taibe initially opened Taproot in…read moresuburban Bethel with wife Steph Sweeney (Owner/Manager), but found a good percent of their innovation-seeking customers travel from Connecticut's shoreline to visit. After they became aware of the availability of a large space restaurant in the city of Norwalk, the restaurant migrated to its present spot. LOCATION: The restaurant is in a lively location, with a movie theater across the street and a convenient parking lot in the back. ATMOSPHERE: The space, which is divided by walls into three dining areas, has a "shabby chic" aesthetic and is lit by tall and wide paned industrial windows. EXPERIENCE: I've visited for brunch and Happy Hour with friends who live or work in Norwalk. Chef Taibe is creative and skillful, and I'm forever impressed by the dishes he serves. As a result, it comes as no surprise that the restaurant was recognized as best in Fairfield County during the Connecticut Restaurant Association's 2023 Crazies award ceremony. (Chef Taibe was finalist for best chef in all of the state the very same year.) The pimento cheese starter topped with Benton ham jam (happy hour/dinner) and smoked brisket hash (brunch) highlight how Chef Jeff Taibe transforms and elevates common menu items into ones that are memorable and crave-inducing. TIPS: Adding to the menu variety, specials are available between 5-9 pm as follows: Tuesdays: Burger plus Beer combo ($18); Wednesdays: Seafood discounts and specials; Thursdays: Smoked Prime Rib ($65); Fridays: Fossil Farm Game specials. It appears that walk ins are always seated in bar dining area, regardless of whether the central dining area appears free. If you rather not sit on a high top bench or stool, a reservation is recommended. The restaurant is also accessible via a back parking lot entrance.

Amazing experience--we'll definitely be back!

Blackstone Steakhouse has amazing food, good service and a nice upscale ambiance…read more The main dining area is in the front, and the bar is in the back. You can have a romantic dinner for two, or you can bring a large group. Blackstone can handle both well. The bar has bar stools and high top tables. You can enjoy your meal in the bar if you want. The service, regardless of where you sit, is really good - friendly and attentive. The food is incredible. - Sizzling Bacon as an appetizer - a must have; always a favorite - Bone in Ribeye - great flavor and always prepared and cooked to perfection - The sides are for the table to share, and they are so good I always try to visit Blackstones when I am in town. Highly recommended!

Our server was super nice and gave great recommendations. We started off with drinks, the jumbo shrimp cocktail and the wedge salad. They do charge a $2 fee to share the salad. Both portions were huge but the salad was fresh and tasty. For the entree I got the filet mignon with mashed potatoes and asparagus. I got the filet medium rare but it was kind of dry. My mom got the halibut and really enjoyed it. Overall not bad and I would come again with my family.
