I picked it up a month later for $150 and was told it was the best he could do. The bezel was a terrible fit and the glass i thought was gonna fall out. I took it and called with my concerns. He said bring it back. I took it to a shop in Sellwood. They did a great job. They told me if they couldn't make it better they would not charge me. Why would i bring it back to the same place if that was his best job? I have been going to antique stores since i was 10, over 60 years. I will never recommend that repair shop.

I dropped it off on a Wednesday, they said it should be done the next day but give it to Friday. I said no problem.....2 days is better then what I was expecting. Friday comes around, no call. I call them Fri to see hear an update, they said let me check, the lady that fixes watches took it home to fix. Cool, no problem.....no call back. Call on Monday, they said oh let me check w her, no call back. I call again on Tues...they sounded like oh this guy again. I said please give me an update....one of the lady's said I'll call you back when I know in a tone like I'm bugging her....no call back again! I called the next day and a guy answered and I told him I just want my watch back, I'll get it fixed somewhere else. He said "fine, I'll call you" He calls the next day saying it's in. I go to the shop and say "I'm here to pickup my watch" The guy said "your name?" I told him my name and 1 of the lady's that sits at her desk w her back turned says "oh him!" Hahaha So professional. He says "we fixed the battery but don't know how to set the time/date" I said "I can do it" I get home and the buttons on the side to adjust time and date are BROKEN. Jammed in where you can't hold down. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL! Plus, it's super dusty in there, a cat lerks around and the females that work there just complain back and forth to eachother about their lives when customers can hear. Super awkward!! It had been out of order for months and had not been properly maintained in quite a while. There was difficulty sourcing brass cables and the job ended up taking longer than expected, but in the end the clock is once again in peak condition and our residents are so happy to have their old friend back. The job was quite expensive, but I'm pretty sure these kinds of repairs are intricate and time-consuming. Kind of a dying art.
