Paul replaced a battery on a Longines Conquest quartz movement. That particular model is tricky to do a battery replacement with. He did so quickly and then he installed a replacement steel bracelet on a Seiko Alpinist that I had personally tried to do myself. I had spent 2 hours attempting to do so and gave up in frustration. Paul Bonwell is a joke! He's not a watch repair man he's a battery exchanger and a crappy one at that. He broke my watch replacing the battery which I've done on that watch for 25 years. He then proceeded to blame in on me! Slammed it on the glass counter and said you deal with it! Oh btw he did'nt even reinstall the back and left it for me to do. His hands were shaking so bad like he needed a drink. I mentioned that to him and he raised his hand shaking like a leaf, my 2 witnesses were in disbelief as well. So . . . I needed a new battery for my semi-trusty $40 Armitron. As it turned out, the poor thing had been put aside for quite some time in exchange for a much more water-repellent RELIC watch. In particular, exchanged for one whose glass doesn't fog up every time I wash my hands! Ugh! A quick Yelp! search turned up PB's, which I thought was funny because it made me think of peanut butter. Personally, I prefer fresh ground PB. Anyway, I guess that's the way associative thinking occurs! At least it did for me on this occasion. Fumble with GPS. Perform quick internet search. . . . . Query . . . loading . . . Zuh-Ding! Answer found! It's inside the Fred Meyer store! Duh! I half guessed that it might be! So, in I went. In the past, I had gone to PB Watch Repair inside of the Fred Meyer on 148th and Division a few times. Paul was always friendly and helpful. Currently, I was in need of getting a new watch band attached to the watch I use on a daily basis. PB Watch Repair moved about one year ago to inside the Gresham Fred Meyer off of Burnside. It was worth my time to go out of my way to have Paul put the band on my watch. After I put the watch on, with the new band attached, I wondered if it was too tight. He told me to keep the extra links he had removed (the band was too long) and the receipt. He suggested I try it out and if I still wanted it a bit longer, to come back in with the receipt and he would add a link or two! As always, he was pleasant and helpful! read more

I tripped and as I was falling I bent the watch band on my 18 karat gold Rolex Presidential watch. I didn't want to go all the way to a Rolex jeweler to get it repaired and so I looked for a watch repair store that was closer to where I live. I found PB Watch Repair in, of all places, the jewelry department of Fred Meyer's on 148th and SE Division. I showed up there and Paul, the owner, got me right in and within 25 minutes he had repaired my watch band so that it was as good as new. As a matter fact it actually clamped a whole lot better than it did before I fell. For all of this work he only charged me $25. What a nice man and a very talented watchmaker.
