My experience: If you have a broken clock, do not take it here. You will be charged a lot of money, the clock still won't work, and you will be yelled at and threatened with litigation for asking for the work to be completed correctly.
We first contacted Another Time Restoration in the spring of 2017, to clean and repair a wall clock and do the same for an antique grandfather clock. While dropping the wall clock off we agreed to purchase an antique freestanding clock for our home. John, the owner, told us at the time he would clean the clock mechanism and we should come back in a week to pick it up. John also came to our home and picked up a grandfather clock mechanism to repair. He told us at the time it would take four to six months to complete the repairs.
One week later, John told us the clock we had purchased worked fine and didn't need to be cleaned. We trusted him and purchased the clock The clock worked for a short time then kept quitting. every time we called to have the clock cleaned as originally promised, John would blame us for the clocks' failure to keep time. Finally in February 2018, almost a year later, John came to our home and re-installed the grandfather clock mechanism and took our clock back to his shop to clean and repair it per the original deal we had made with him. While installing the grandfather mechanism, John told us he did not warranty his work. This is the first we had heard this statement. The grandfather clock worked for about a week then the chimes went kilter chiming randomly and as many as fifteen times then eventually quit working.
My wife called John in May 2018, to ask when the cleaning of the clock he sold us would be completed. He became rude to her and said the clock would be done soon and he would contact her. Fast forward to yesterday, August 29, 2018, my wife called John back and he said he had been waiting for her to call for four months (?????). When we arrived to pick up the clock, John attempted to charge us another $150 for "parts". No problem but $150 for clock bushings? When I questioned the cost, he became angry and told us to forget it and he did not want to see the clock again. Once home when I tried to adjust the pendulum height because the clock was losing time, I found a different and beat up pendulum with all of the inside components missing so it cannot be adjusted.
I called John and asked for the original pendulum and he began to call me a liar and hung up on me. When I called back he told me I had no business messing with the pendulum and his attorney would be in touch with me then hung up.
So if you want to be treated unprofessionally, get yelled at, have working parts replaced with non-working AND still have no working clock , by all means call this company. If not, call someone else. read more
