I was very skeptical coming into this place due to the location but once I got inside the owner made me feel more comfortable and relaxed. The vibe inside has a calm and peaceful setting which makes you forget that you are in Norfolk for a bit. Due to a lot of people dining and dashing apparently you have to pay for your meal first before receiving them. Lucky for me I didn't have to pay first but it was posted on the menu. You also have to pay for water which isnt a problem for me. I ordered the kimbop, japchae and Tteokbokki. Every time you dine in it comes with your traditional Korean sides. The meals were ok, it tasted like a home cooked meal then a restaurant quality. The reason on why I am giving this a three star is because of the nice Korean lady. It's because of her I will be giving this place another shot. Kimbop 3/5 Tteokbokki 2/5 Japchae 3/5

Norfolk Garden is a hidden gem for authentic Korean food in Norfolk! The ajumma is actually nice, the food is flavorful, and it's hands down the most authentic Korean spot around. We always get the tempura--crispy, light, and a must-try! We try something new every visit, and it's always delicious. The service is always warm and welcoming. Always keep the banchan refills coming. Ambiance is elegant, authentic, and always inviting.

Food is overpriced but in these times most food is bc of shortages. Service stunk but food is delicious so I didn't care except when the older lady added a dish to our table that I didn't order!?! (Extra $25) When I come to town, I always go here bc the Korean food is authentic.

Great restaurant ambience and food. The little lady who served us was super hospitable and kind. She was timely and cute. We loved having her at our table. At first, the outside seemed really sketchy but we didn't judge a book by its cover bc the food stole the show. The food looked in a weird way healthy and fresh. It didn't take long for the food to come out prob bc we were the only ones waiting on an early Sunday. I finished my fried rice. My daughter has wonderful leftovers to eat later. Everything was delicious. The portions were perfect. The added cinnamon tea in the end was gold. If we had another night we would've definitely come back.

Craving Korean food? HELP SUPPORT THIS AMAZING BUSINESS!! Norfolk Garden is exquisite, from the looks on the outside it doesn't look like much, but on the inside you'll notice a nice authentic Korean restaurant. Unfortunately Norfolk Garden is limited menus with only having three menus and one waiter. It looks as if they were planning on doing big renovations until Covid possibly stopped them in their tracks or lack of funding. Despite the odds though, Norfolk Garden does not shy away from great service and amazing authentic Korean Food. From the free sides to the entrees and soups the serving sizes are well made to keep your crave or tummy satisfied.

Food here was kinda dated, and over priced, its traditional korean classic style, but i wouldn't go back.

When we arrived around 8:30pm, it was about a 30 minute wait but we assumed it was because of the Valentine weekend. Once we were seated, our server quickly greeted us and provided the run down of the food items for us to choose from. I absolutely loved how we were able to order our food right from the tablet at our table. It made ordering very convenient and the food was served pretty quickly. We tried some of everything, the Spicy Beef Bulgogi, Spicy Chicken, Sliced Ribeye, Garlic Pork Belly, Calamari and Scallops to name a few. We also ordered the Gyoza, a few sushi rolls and white & fried rice. After we ordered, we went to the sauce bar to grab our sauces and the area was very dirty. Some of the sauces were empty as well. They should have someone on sauce duty to keep that area clean because it was disgusting! I chose what I could and we headed back to our table. The food was fresh with the exception of the seafood, I wasn't a fan! My favorite was the Spicy Beef Bulgogi! Unfortunately, it did take a while for our server to change out the grill after we finished cooking. At one point, we both started coughing because the grill was smoking profusely as we waited for it to be changed out lol. Overall, I would give 3.5 stars. Our server was very friendly and the food was pretty good but I would probably try another Korean BBQ spot next time.

The meats here were quite good which paired well with the sauce bad they had. The service was good as you have to order from an iPad when the server comes around. The fried dumplings were great and very flavorful. The rice cake soup was a great portion for the price, I do wish there were more rice cake and less onions. Last time I came it, it was empty. This time me and my mom came hefe on a Saturday night, the restaurant was not full but it was busy! We had to wait for about 30 minutes since we wanted to do bbq (where the grill is installed on the table, and not all tables look like that), but there's no wait if you're not doing bbq. The staff were quick and nice. There are bells next to our table and we can use that bell to ask for service, what a great idea! We ordered Korean pancake with seafood, spicy tofu soup with beef(comes with rice), Galbi (bbq short ribs)(comes with rice), and a grape flavored soju. Just like other Korean restaurants, we were provided with unlimited banchans and salad, and they were all fresh and delicious. The Korean pancake is HUGE. It's also not too much breading but full of leeks and onion, and it was thin and crispy. The Spicy Tofu Soup with beef tasted decent, but I'd like more beef in it. The Galbi was good portion (2 long pieces, 1 small pieces and 2 bones with some meat on) and the marinade tasted good, but I still think $44 is a tad high. The only star was taken off is really the price for the bbq meat. I can see premium protein could be charged higher, but pork, chicken and flat iron steak are some cheaper cut that I personally think is a bit high. I might come back during lunch time to take advantage of their lunch menu tho!

I did takeout this time, and my food was ready quickly. I was greeted right at the door with super friendly service, which already set a great tone. The moment I walked in, I noticed how cute the place is: ample seating, cool vibes, and a cozy atmosphere that makes you instantly want to dine in. I'm already looking forward to coming back for the full experience. We got the spicy kimchi tofu soup, and let me tell you--chef's kiss. Perfectly soft tofu, a legit kick of spice, and the rice that comes with it was bomb. Total comfort food. We also ordered the bulgogi bibimbap and cheese corn, and mixing everything together was honestly life-changing. I was so full but somehow still wanted more. The portions are generous, everything was flavorful, and it hit exactly the spot I'd been craving. Highly recommend this place, and I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!

And honestly? It was a great time. The mix of karaoke and barbecue created a fun vibe. That said, there are a few things to keep in mind if you go. Watch your timing in the karaoke rooms and keep an eye on the drink prices, because the bill can add up quickly. For two people, about an hour and a half with a couple of appetizers and one or two drinks came out to around $80 definitely more than I expected. My advice: make sure your group is clear ahead of time on how the room and tab will be split. That way, everyone enjoys the vibe without stressing over the bill later. For me, this was more of a one-time experience rather than a spot I'd frequent. I was there for the vibes of my friend's birthday party!

I will say that I have been to multiple locations, this one was the lowest in quality. The Buffett bar wasn't labeled correctly in the sauces area, and the hot items available were not good. Fries??? My coworker nd I were just talking about how good the chicken is usually at kpot but not this location. Service was horrible, the server was trying to be friendly which is great, but there was like 3 people in the place, and I am sure that the other person eating was a worker on their break. So it shouldn't have taken very long to get drinks and to service us, I ended up having to get everything myself, all utensils, soup ladles, extra plates. There was only 3 people in the building eating there should be no reason for us not to be checked on, or sodas refilled. The server that brought our food out, practically threw the food on the table, we were trying to make space for everything and he was holding a bowl of rice and I guess we took to long and he pretty much slammed it on the table and walked away, and we told the server this and he said that he was made about something, which is not an excuse for this to have happened! Fried rice was horrible! White rice seemed to have been served awhile ago and it was hard on top. Everyone in the building wasn't paying attention to anything, I waited for 10 mins to my bill checked out at my table, I went to the restroom which is another story! And my bill and card still hadn't been picked up from the table, I told my friend let's go and walked to the front thinking someone would finally come but no, they didn't I stood there looking for someone, could've walked right out and they wouldn't have noticed us gone. But I am not that kind of person, and I stood there waiting for my bill to be rung up. Bathroom had no soap! How are employees washing their hands! All the utensils pilled up, 90% of them looked like they needed to be rewashed, and there was a mildew smell coming from that area, take it all down and clean it! I love KPOT, and haven't had an experience like this at any other location, I hope this helps this location take a look at the details!

We were a party of 7 and to sit comfortably they sat us at 2 different tables not knowing they were booths behind one another. I didn't even know they had these tables until it was too late and we were getting our food from the buffet already. We came from out of town to visit family so we didn't get to talk much since our tables were separated. As for the hot pot the soup bases were a bit salty. We got the Szechuan Spicy and the Japanese Miso. The portions were small when ordering the dishes so we had to order multiple times. Sauce bar was plenty and cooked appetizers were good. Dessert section my kids were of course happy about since they love Melona bars. Getting our waitress to refill our waters took a long time, I had to go and look for her to get it. In NYC normally when our soup base is running low they offer to refill it but this place didn't. Not sure if it's a VA thing but getting our waitress was a pain to get a hold of so we didn't even bother asking for a refill.
