Nordstrom is a chain department store that sells designer clothes, shoes, accessories, beauty products, home decor, and other goods. I occasionally shop at this store, mostly for women's clothing. My household income is in a top percentile, and I think that the prices for most products here are more than what I want to spend. During my most recent visit, when I was browsing the racks of clothing, an employee walked right past me and did not say hello. Furthermore, sometimes I could not easily find price tags on products. I chose one article of clothing to buy. At the checkout counter, I waited in line for a short while. Don't waste your time. It is almost impossible to find anyone to help & if you do, they are talking with their co-workers and could care less about helping a customer. If you have a return, you get an attitude (Anthony at the David Yurman counter) We were at the Palm Beach Gardens Nordstrom & it is like a different world. EVERYONE went out of their way to help us in several different departments. It is a sign of the times...it's not surprising why so many brick & mortar stores have closed. read more

I'm a big fan of Nords and I'm sorry to give 3 stars but within the last 2 years I've witnessed a downward spiral here I will say it's no fault of theirs but here's my reasoning : weed smell is evident at foyers and in other departments The merchandise has dumbed down considerably I know it's a sign of the times and the trashy culture. I've been embarrassed to shop there lately. I recall better years ~ an actual band was employed for the Xmas party, the red carpet runner at Xmas , classier clientele and more expensive clothing. I know they are going to spend millions renovating but why? The shopper quality is in decline Id staff security at outside doors to show presence of authority. While I don't set foot in Nordstrom super often, I always have a good experience when I do! Nordstrom admittedly isn't the cheapest shopping option in the world, but let's be honest: some pieces of clothing can't be thrifted. So when you need nicer and/or more specific pieces, Nordstrom is a good option. Firstly, this location is huge! Any department you could want is here on one of their two floors. So if you need something, it's probably here - and if it's not here in the store itself, it can probably be ordered in. But wait: before you head online to browse, it's worth considering whether or not an in-store visit would better meet your shopping needs. The advantage of coming here in person is that you can use their stylist services, which can be booked in advance online. Need wardrobe advice? Need measurements to help you find your perfect size before getting lost in the racks? These appointments are perfect for you. Plus, during my visits staffers have always focused on making me feel and look good in my outfits, and nothing else. My love for this kind of judgment-free shopping zone knows no bounds. (Budgeting tip: the other benefit of the appointments is that you can come in, figure out your size in a brand that you love, and then head home to shop online with some coupon codes!) Thanks to the great staff here and the helpful appointment booking option, each time I've visited Nordstrom I've found what I needed quickly and had a great shopping experience overall. Someone marched right up to me and said, Can I Help You? I ig-Nord them. In actuality, nobody marched up to me. These flagship stores seem like ghost towns these days. Ghost towns with lots of merchandise that isn't being bought. Makes me wonder how long these Malls can last. Which is why Nordstrom is charging a fair bit for their items, which is why I would usually buy stuff on the internet. However, we needed an extra scarf, and she saw one she liked, so it was a done deal for around $20. Only twice as much as the scarves I love in Chinatown NYC, so not too awful. Price mark-ups mean I can't give it more than 3, but it's a little sad that these flagship stores are all struggling, and this is one of the nicer ones I've been to. I went to the Ross Park Mall to get some dress shirts and a tie. I started at Nordstrom as it was the closest. I wandered around for about 15 minutes before I found a sales person. There are not many sales people around so good luck finding one. As I said I did find a sales person finally and told him the size I needed. He showed me the only one that was correct size and it was $125 for one shirt???? I asked what was the sale price as all the other stores had big sales. The salesman said it was not onsite and it was $125.00. Are you Freakin riding me $125 for a dress shirt????????? I needed 3 of them no way was i spending that kind of money on a dress shirt. I found the prices to be high and finding a sales person to help very hard. I would not go back again to Nordstrom at all for any reason. You are better off going to Macys where there are always sales and all sorts of other discounts. read more

This Nordstrom offers a full department store with alterations available, a coffee bar, and full restaurant on the second floor. The pros: this store is smaller than any of the other Nordstrom I've been to, but it still has all the essentials and brands of the bigger stores. The store is clean and well kept, and staff are helpful. The bistro on the second floor is a hidden gem that only Nordstrom shoppers seem to know about. It's also easy to get a table and the food is fabulous. The cons: the size. I can always find the pair of shoes I am looking for, but they may not have the size I need and they generally only carry one color because of storage constraints. The kids department is minuscule doesn't carry near enough stock. Overall, great store, but if you want a specific item, prepare to have to order online. read more

We have been to Nordstrom all over the country and specially in NY so many times but never felt this way. I'm currently in Pittsburg for a conference and thought of stopping by in Ross Park Mall Nordstrom to get a gift for my wife. First went to the Jewelry Section and sales associate woman greeted and literally rolled her eyes from my head to toe and showed that which section is their premium jewelry and directed me where their Fashion jewelry is! It was between 5:45PM-6:30PM. Just to mention that I was in a formal attire since headed there directly from the conference. After that experience I have not even looked at the jewelry and went directly to the men shoes section. Exactly the same thing happened again! Sales associate guy rolled his eyes and then asked me if I need help. Personally I have never been this disrespected in a retail store before. I know it doesn't mean anything to the big company like Nordstrom but I will never step into any of their store again. Nordstrom's: Our favorite Upscale Department Store in Pittsburgh with or without Saks. Nordstrom's provides a top notch customer service experience in every department from 99% of all associates. Associates are very, very, helpful and kind in the process of serving your needs. They go far out of their way and demonstrate saintly patience in dealing with you as an individual. In this medium size Nordstrom's they have a well displayed, perfectly organized and a fairly good size inventory of high quality merchandise as wells as a large selection of designer merchandise. I would characterize the merchandise pricing to be in the medium, high and very high price range if you are wondering what it will cost to shop here. In store there is also a pretty nice little restaurant with good food and fast service. Eat and shop; shop and eat; shop, eat, and shop, whichever works for you and you can get a glass of wine to help you through you difficult shopping chores. After a long absence I decided to return and visit the annual anniversary sale. The store does a presale for everyone who has a Nordstrom credit card. All others if interested the actual sale starts a little over a week later. I met a wonderful salesclerk in the shoe department who was helping me find cross trainers. After an unsuccessful search she took my information since I need waterproof shoes when I am walking out in the rain. She will contact me on them in the future. They have the "anniversary" merchandise behind "curtains" which will be rearranged when the official event opens. Anyone is allowed to go in there but you cannot purchase anything at present without a Nordstrom card. Most of the stuff were either overpriced or cheap crap. I found better deals on the the reduced racks which is where I would suggest looking. I was able to buy a few essentials before leaving. I've noticed there is no more pressure tactics in order to buy. They still have their cafe with the same menu except prices are a wee bit higher. You basically order and pay at a register, have a seat and a waiter will serve you your meal. Again I only eat here when I know I'm going to be in the store for an extended period of time. It is part of Ross Park Mall that has a food court along with a couple of other restaurants. Everything here is normally full priced so my advice would be to check their clearance racks and now and then you can find descent merchandise at a reasonable price. read more

This place isn't as grand as one would think. I admit I'm not a department store person, and for some reason, Nordstrom, you did not pursued me to the contrary. I know it's suppose to be this big draw for the mall, but if it's suppose to be a big draw, why do I feel like it repels me? I walk in and immediately feel small. I'm thinking that this is so for one of two reasons: 1. The store itself is huge, but everything is so spread out that it looks almost empty inside, 2. My wallet wasn't fat enough. Looking around, I did not notice anything particularly different from merchandise that you find at other department stores in our area. I don't think I saw any staff while I was in here either. I probably won't come back in here, in fact I'll make it a point to head to the discount stores nearby. Majority of what I'd end up buying I'd probably find there anyway. read more

I love Nordstrom! This location is just on the small side. The men's clothing, shoes and fragrance sections could be bigger. At times it is really hard to find someone to wait on you. One time I went in to make a payment on my Nordstrom card and the salesman took forever trying verify if my check was good or not! Ever since that day I pay my bill online! They do have a extensive collection of designer handbags including Burberry, Coach, Jimmy Choo, Car Store, Valentino, Michael Kors and more. I purchased a MOB gown from Nordstrom on line and took it in for alterations. Let's say the process started off bad and went off the rails. I seemed to be irritating the girl who took me back to the fitting room but I let it go. Suddenly she knocked on my fitting room door,( I have Rhum arthritis), and was trying to move quickly. She asked if I needed help zipping it and I said yes. She became annoyed and said," can't you help me move your hair back!" I explained that I have ra and it was tough I told her to bend my arm. I then went out where other customers were seated and the alterations woman with the first initial if N exclaimed horrified," This is no!! No!! It's too tight! Take it back! Ughh". She then asked when the wedding was and she said in front of customers," you still have time. I have a friend umm built like you and she found something nice to cover up herself". I also might mention they were rude when I said I needed a minute to step up as I have ra and my balance is off. The customers, all women just looked down nervously. I was between wanting to cry and be as unprofessional as they were but I have class and manners. I shop in nyc at Nordstrom's. They are consummate professionals. Nordstrom Ross Park-if you think that is how big city Nordstrom employees act you are wrong. You are laughable, rude, and showed me today who/what you really are. I then took my almost $600 Mac Dugal dress back and I will never set foot in this store. However if you think I would let something so rude go unnoticed-think twice. I didn't know that size shaming a 16w comes free with alterations. Wow. Just wow. Don't get alterations if there is a w after your size-skip them. Skip them period. No class. I was looking for some summer clothes. I was hoping to find a good sale since Fall clothes are springing up everywhere for Back to School. They only had a few swimsuits left and none in my size. I had waited too late. Bummer. BUT I found some great pieces of clothing that I liked. They had a great selection of different styles of clothing-from work out gear to formal evening gowns. The sales lady was wonderful. She helped me look for swimsuits and put everything I wanted to try on in the dressing room. She checked with me to see if she could get other sizes for me. I felt special. Customer service has gone so far down everywhere EXCEPT NORDSTROMS. Go check them out! Experience the nice fabrics that the clothing is made of. I'm a Nordstrom card holder. I usually make purchases with my personal Visa since I still get Nordstrom points vs using my Nordstrom card. Purchased a pair of boots for a Christmas present while at the store in December and forgot about telling the shoe clerk to use my visa instead of my Nordstrom card she had on file for the charge. Boots didn't fit. I forgot to return these and realized this past weekend. I pay off ALL my credit cards each month. I have s statement showing I have a ZERO balance as I just made a payment. In the process of returning my boots, I asked the clerk if he could credit my visa instead of my Nordstrom card since I have a ZERO balance to avoid having to have the Nordstrom card folks write and mail me a check since I have a ZERO balance. He said "no". I asked to speak to a manager. He called "Joey the Mgr". I explained the situation to "Joey". "Joey" congratulated me on paying off my cc. His fake sincerity was totally obnoxious! Either he is CLUELESS that there are actually people that pay off their cc each month, or he is a a total disingenuous Mgr. I'm not impressed!!!! read more

Nordstrom is definitely worth the price... but only if you love what your buying...Nordstrom (I'm pretty sure) sells everything for the manufacturers suggested price....Since they carry different brands the quality/price ratio can vary.... The wonderful thing about Nordstrom is the customer service is always spot on... returns/exchanges are never a huge problem ...there's also a restaurant inside the nordstorm! I always have a pleasant experience with this Nordstrom's. The service is pleasant and prompt, the selection is nice. The service people are hit and miss. Sometimes, the Mac counter staff can seem a little bit aloof, so from time to time you have to wait for a while before you get helped, but one of the surrounding counters is quick to locate a person for you, but never rude. Only once have I been whisked into a purchase that I did not want because I was swiped to a cross-sale across the floor from the shoe department to the perfume department. Looking back, that was a little unwanted, especially because they assumed a price level that was out of my league and next thing you know you are ringing up a 750 dollar perfume. Tsk tsk. However 9/10 your associate will be polite and helpful. read more

I had never really shopped at a Nordstrom until I discovered Ross Park Mall. I love this mall and the Nordstrom here is one of my favorite stores. I always visit Janey at the Philosophy counter and she takes great care of me. Talk about phenomenal customer service! She is the best. I WILL NEVER shop here again. I have been a customer of Nordstrom's since they opened several years ago. I have a Nordstrom card and have spent a decent amount of money there. Over that time, I have unfortunately been subjected to the rude behavior of several members of their cosmetics department. When you return something, they take as a personal insult. They work on commission and don't want money going out of their pockets. They like to huddle up and gossip and be very unprofessional. Despite how hurtful and embarrassing it was, I tried to ignore it and continued to give them my business. I do a lot of online, in store pick up orders. At least two a week. When I pick up my order, I am usually stuck at the end of a long line of women making multiple returns. No big deal. Today, I had a pickup order from Chanel and a few Chanel products that didn't work for me. I again stood in line and when the gentleman got to me, he said I had to go downstairs to return my items. I explained that I've seen returns done here before and he told me he wasn't going to do it. I asked to speak to the manager. Assistant manager Meghan came over to speak to me and was rude from the start. I explained the inconsistencies in their policy, and she was unapologetic and condescending. I was on my way to work and was wearing my work cloths. Maybe I didn't look rich enough for her to at least be pleasant with me. I told her since she was being rude, and since just a few days earlier I watched multiple women make returns from all departments, including cosmetics, that I didn't want the pickup order and for her to return it. She did. I asked, how is it that you can return the online pickup order which is Chanel makeup and you can't return the Chanel products I wanted to return? She said, 'because it's different.' I went downstairs to return the makeup and told the store manager Joe about what happened. I explained it multiple times and he was still confused. I told him it was frustrating that I was being treated differently than other customers and the entire behavior on their part was a stupid thing to lose a customer over. He said it was their policy. I said since it didn't seem to be their 'policy' just a few days earlier it would be my new 'policy' to not shop there anymore. The entire thing was embarrassing and made me late for work. Next time, Nordstrom, treat all customers the same. Not just the ones who look rich enough to be important. read more

I love Nordstrom and usually shop online for better deals and more options. I am a Nordstrom card holder and the shipping is quick and free. In one week I had 2 zippers break on different articles of clothing at 2 different times. First item was a coat that I purchased last year, purchased online and it was a Nordstrom brand (Halogen). Since I am a card holder I figured I would use the alterations benefit. Never used it before. I brought it in, there was lots of confusion and the sales associate came back out after speaking to someone in alterations and told me that I should try to obtain a zipper from Joanne's fabric and then maybe they could fix it for me with that. I guess the alterations manager (who is a doll) was not there. I decided to push on them to hold onto my coat until she got in. Because what do I have this benefit for if I am doing some of the work? I am not a zipper expert. Didn't hear from them till I called 2 days later, spoke to alteration manager who told me she would try to find a similar zipper but would take some time. I agreed and went on my way. Next morning the zipper in a pair of Kut from the cloth jean that I purchased last November broke. Figured while I was finishing some more Christmas shopping I would stop by the store again to see if they could fix the zipper. Sales girl from Active helped me, brought the jeans to the back and came back out with one of the seamstresses. The seamstress took one look at me and asked if the pants were clean in an accusatory tone. I couldn't help but laugh, poor Active girl was very sweet and I could tell she felt awkward. I made a joke asking if the pants were smelly (maybe in poor taste but I also felt awkward). FYI they were not dirty and smelled fine. Anyway, turns out asking that question is on their list of legal questions they must ask or something. I don't buy that would be the first question Nordstrom is telling associates they need to ask but if so, shame shame, bury that somewhere in between. I have some theories about why she would have asked that as soon as she saw me but don't want to start on another issue. Anyway still don't have my clothes back but will maybe update this when I do. Hoping everything comes back in good order. Thought I would share my semi negative experience since I can't seem to stop thinking all the interactions I had with everyone in alterations besides the manager were bizarre. read more

I went to the makeup counter at The Ross Mall to ask for suggestions on dealing with my dark circles. The young man who helped me was nice however when he was through with me I looked absolutely terrible! He applied all kinds of expensive creams first but more importantly his applications for the eye makeup were extremely heavy. I would have looked better with no makeup than what he did to my eyes. Very nice set up, very clean and posh. I love that they have a MAC cosmetics in this location. The employees seem nice too. It's so nice to come to a store, even just to browse, and it be so well up kept. I never feel claustrophobic. The cafe coffee is decent. Another impressive random thing, not to be weird, but their bathroom or "lounge" is amazing! I am the quintessential germ-freak, and they are spic and span clean and there's literally a separate room to the side with just a couch to sit. All other bathrooms need to take note lol. I've purchased dozens of pairs of loubuiton a but when I walked in the store wearing my sweats I got the evil eye (how disrespectful). Highly disappointed with the service here. I also purchased a chloe bag last year and it took the guy a whole hour to walk over and unlock the bag. To my dissapointment he wasn't even with another employee. I love Nordstrom, but this location is the smallest of any I've visited. The sales people here are very nice and helpful, but they will also keep their distance if they know you're just browsing. If you want anything that the company carries but they don't stock, they will do a sale at the register and ship it to your house for free. Awesome!
