Kings Square is an ordinary little group of shops with or 2 real gems thrown in. Penelopes is one…read moreof those gems and produces the most beautiful bouquets I've ever seen. I first heard of Penelopes when I very generous friend send e a bunch of their flowers which were just stunning. Not your run of the mill roses or carnations, but lovely long stemmed things in beautiful colours that I don't even know the names of. You will pay here for a bouquet than you would in say M&S but what you get in quality and the range of unusual foliage available more than justify that. The staff don't mind at all if you say that you only want to spend say £8 or £10 and will do their best to make up the fullest bunch they can within your budget. I've also seen some huge bouquets waiting to be delivered which were £75 but were drop dead gorgeous. You can order pretty much any type of arrangement, from wedding flowers to a centre piece for your dinner party table. They can also do arrangements in dried flowers if you're looking for something that will last longer. I also love the little potted plants and flowers they do which some in funky containers like brown paper bags and purple plant pots. Brides on a budget will be delighted to hear that you can also hire huge candelabras for £30. What a bargain.

But, hey - it comes close, the owners here are well informed about kerb appeal and getting the passing custom in the shop - the doors are flung open to the daylight, and the flowers seem to spill out onto the street on the ground and on tables and displays, they really do make you want to just buy them for their beauty, even if you don't have a celebration or a gift to buy for someone. The prices are reasonable too, and the little flower plants in pots are very cute as well as the blooms and bouquets that I saw being put together. Really lovely shop.

Did not realise how important flowers were for a wedding until Jill Edwards arranged the flowers…read morefor my wedding!! They initially did a really good consultation with the lovely florist Helen in the shop, I knew immediately I had picked the right place, Helen knew exactly what I wanted. On the day of the wedding they delivered and set up fabulous displays at my venue, a beautiful altar arrangement and stunning arrangements that were attached and hung on the tall candlestick holders at either side of the alter, lots of my guests commented on how amazing the flowers were. Jill Edwards could not do enough to help me, this was fantastic and took a lot of stress out of the preparations. On the morning of the wedding they also delivered the bouquets and button holes, they were out of this world!!! So delighted with the service and all the flowers that were organised, the bouquets had Guilder Roses, Akito Roses Rosemary, Fennel Thlaspi Green Bell Eryngium, Peony Roses, Eucalyptus and Lily Grass, they looked and smelt Devine!! The mother of the groom and bride loved their bunches they got at the speeches and both commented on how fresh and how long they lasted. Could not recommend this place enough!!!

I hope that some of Mark Boyd's family have been reading these reviews and takes some action!…read moreThis man has ruined so many people's lives. He has left them in a lot of debt and he does not give a dam about them. There's just so much more he has done that is too lewd to be put on this public form. He got tens of thousands out of a friend of mine. Bled him dry. It's a pity that he didn't have his 15 minutes of infamy on the Nolan Show. To get the word out that this person is NOT welcome in our community. Mark, it's truly pathetic that you have been bombarded the show with texts as to how you've been harassed. how can you live with yourself when you harassed a woman into an early grave? As I said before I wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire. And that's being polite about it!!!!

You were the first person to greet us when we arrived at the hotel with a big cheery smile and our meetings with you made us feel most welcome each time out came the tea and biscuits. I have been to many florists but never been made as welcome as you had made us. Everyone has commented on the flowers (wedding 12/12/12) the colours and composition absolutely stunning. We also paid up front like those in the reviews You kept in contact in the lead up to the wedding and the day of the wedding, we both wish you all the best for your future and keep up the good work.
