They started at £20 and went up as far as £40. We decided to go for £30 and she asked if we wanted her to make it up there and then-which we did! I must say, watching her work was really mesmerising and she mad it look so easy! The flowers were like a representation of Autumn! They were orange, red, deep purple and rust coloured. But then, after having been quoted ridiculous prices for wedding flowers, I tried the Alexandra in desperation and found that they have plenty in the quality stakes too, for about half the price of their nearest wedding flower competitors. I got bouquets, buttonholes, flowers in vases for the reception (which they went to the bother of tying so I could hand them out to people as they were leaving) and a teeny tiny buttonhole about the size of a buttecup for my little tiny pageboy. Other florists tried to tell me that the bouquets were so expensive because they had to buy so many spare of the highest grade of flowers. Maybe if you're a connoisseur, you would see a difference, but to me they were just the same as other fresh flowers - no nonsense flowers at no nonsense prices.

I really do not know my way around a chrysanthemum or a rhododendron (in fact I'm not sure if those particular varieties are even bought from florists - by the way I think the former looks an awful lot like a dandelion which, I understand grows all by itself....) I ended up picking up an already arranged bouquet comprising of varieties of tulips of varying colours, sizes and stem lengths. Set up and run by Tim Kirkpatrick some ten years ago, Floral Earth has become a must-use service from one off purchases to weddings and funerals. Tim is very ably assisted by his team, including the redoubtable Neil (his dad) and together they make the world of cut flowers a better place. My sister-in-law once ordered flowers online for me (she lives in NewcastleUpon Tyne) and I knew they were from Foral Earth the second I clpped eyes on them. I swear, they are to flowers what Jo Malone is to scents. They exceeded my expectations in every way! My daughter and I have a very dear cousin in Belfast. We wanted to send her a bouquet of flowers, from each of us, for her birthday. I couldn't find my usual go-to florist and picked Norah Mitchell's due to their photographs, and price. I live in California and my daughter and her family live on the east coast. Vicki was wonderful to deal with on email and Carolyn was very kind and helpful on the phone. Flower arrangements were lovely and very affordable. Even my daughter remarked how beautiful and affordable her arrangement was. We highly recommend them and will be using them again during the upcoming Christmas holiday! They were extremely knowledgeable, knew how to deliver my vision and suggested great cost saving alternatives, when I went over the budget. I'm Irish and proud and when I walk past Carrolls and see the Belfast t-shirts and the tourists mulling around I get a great sense of pride. I am proud that if a Spanish/French/Ethiopian wanted to purchase something, nay anything with a shamrock on it they could get it here. I'm proud that pencils and pencil cases, hairbands, rubbers, sweets, aprons and the like with sheep/shamrocks/leprahauns on them can all be purchased here! 2. The Irish tunes that are being pumped outta this place from opening until closing fill me with happiness and make me want to sing along as I am walking past in the pissy rain on dull and gray winters afternoon - sure you couldn't beat it.
