I have no idea how the owner/instructor has managed to attract such amazing teachers - but her business expanded a lot in the last 2 years and she needed more people - fortunately every one is great. The vibe is very friendly and supportive but rigorous. Everyone encourages each other. By rigorous i mean the instructors help you do the move correctly so you benefit from it - whether mat class, reformer, or other apparatus - doing it right makes you stronger, more flexible and minimizes the chance of injury. Modifications are always there for people who don't can't do an exercise the "standard" way for a range of reasons. MBS is very beginner friendly but great for advanced people too. Some advanced classes will really kick your butt if you want/need that.

The instructors are top-notch and I've loved every class I've taken, as each instructor's style is unique. While there are elements which are standard for every yoga class no matter where you go, the class experience here is just different... and elevated compared to a park district class. It's all about the details, and Beth has thought of every single one. There are environmentally friendly considerations throughout. My favorite classes are Soulful Yoga and Yin Yoga with Christy Studant. Can't wait to try aerial!

I know how rigid they are with everything so as soon as I was out of the hospital, I called and filled out a medical pause on my account and I could not come back until I had doctor clearance. Not only did I lose the three credits that I had already paid for for the month of my surgery, but my card kept getting charged even after filling out and returning the medical pause. I had to keep calling, emailing, leaving messages at the location. All while recovering from surgery. I was told the manager was not there, the manager was on vacation, someone would call me that afternoon. Well, I did take days for someone finally to call me and refund the charges. Well, then low and behold, a few months go by and they charged my card again. Again I had to make phone calls, emails, I even emailed Club Pilates corporate, I ended up canceling my membership and arguing back-and-forth that I was still not released from my doctor, they "allowed" me to be released from my contract, but still kept one month of dues as a cancellation fee. I would never step foot in a Club Pilates again for their horrible customer service their lack of understanding when people are sick or in my case, laid up from an emergency surgery. The instructors were wonderful, but that's really where it ended. I have heard people have better experiences at other locations. So maybe it's just this particular location in Glen Ellyn, that has completely horrific customer service and lack of understanding. I just was flabbergasted at my treatment. Especially because one day I got all the way to class and the class canceled for whatever reason, did I get an extra class credit to my account for my inconvenience? No, they don't practice what they preach, but I was understanding. Also, there's never anybody answering the phones, if you have an emergency or you're running late or you have a question- forget it the front desk staff maybe answers one in 10 phone calls if you're lucky. I would try a different location if you wanted to check out a Club Pilates. My rating of two stars is only because of the instructors. It would've gotten the minimum otherwise

It is a great low impact workout targeting every area you'd want: abs, arms, butt and thighs. I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant and can still enjoy the workout with slight modifications. I've been a member since March and I've done over 90 classes. I get up early in the morning before work and get to class at 6:30 or 7:00 and then I head home to work (from home). Her small classes are challenging, tailored to my specific needs, and makes me feel strong. Eva is an encouraging, patient, and is clearly passionate about Pilates and teaching. Her mat classes go through a circuit of classical Pilates positions that focus on building your core strength, increasing flexibility, and breaking bad habits like poor posture, improper breathing, and overusing your neck and shoulders which results in painful knots (my problem). The building is a bit hard to find and you have to go up to the 3rd floor. Don't let the exterior or the stairs deter you, Eva has a created a great space. Her mats are high quality, new and comfortable. She also has 3 reformer mats which are for more advanced students. Class sizes are very small so you get individualized attention. If you are at all interested in taking Pilates classes from someone caring and knows her stuff, I highly recommend Eva at Pilates Road!

All I have to say is.. I'm a Pilates girly now…read more I am writing this review as someone who is in to fitness and trying out new workouts, but never before tried Pilates. I found Village Pilates on ClassPass and booked the "beginner mat" class the night before. Getting there- There is meter parking right in front of the studio and you ring the doorbell for an instructor to let you in. As a first timer, they asked me to fill out a waiver upon walking inside. They ask for some generic information like birthdate and home address, but they also have a space where you can notify them of any injuries or health needs that should be known before taking the class. When I wrote that I had scoliosis, Len checked in with me and said I should let him know if I feel any pain during class so that he can provide me a modification. The experience- I was pleasantly surprised by my ability to follow the instructors sequence and pacing. "Len" was the instructor for the beginner mat class. He was super patient and helpful in correcting any errors in my form in a kind and respectful way. Overall a great experience and I can't wait to go back!

It's nestled into a strip mall, next to a Mario Tricoci, and is fairly tiny. I feel that in a couple of years this pilates studio will take off! This pilates studio focuses on Stott Pilates, which I'm told is a more contemporary approach to pilates, and takes more pressure off your spine. I came here today for my first session, and boy oh boy, was I in for a surprise. I was put on a stott pilates machine, and this was a work out that I've never experienced before! I ache (in a good way!) all over! My instructor focused on demonstrating me the proper way of performing the exercises as well as focusing on my breathing. I have already made a commitment to come back and try this out on a weekly basis. Feel the burn baby!
