Ordered veggie crepes with hollandaise....worst hollandaise, Like processed cheese sauce. Had plastic feel when it was cold.

Greek Salad with grilled chicken. The Greek dressing was so good and refreshing, not overly spiced and not heavy!

The restaurant was very clean. Service was outstanding. Food was awesome! Can't wait to go back and try a new dish!

Brunch at First Watch and wow -- we ordered a bunch of items and everything was made to perfection…read more Even on a busy Sunday morning, the wait time was totally reasonable and the whole experience felt smooth from start to finish. The food was fresh, hot, and beautifully plated -- fluffy pancakes topped with fruit and powdered sugar, a hearty breakfast bowl/hash with perfectly cooked eggs, and a delicious avocado toast situation that hit the spot. The sweet bites we tried were also amazing (light, warm, and not overly greasy). Drinks were great too -- super refreshing and the iced coffee was creamy and indulgent. Service was excellent: friendly, attentive, and fast without feeling rushed. The restaurant was clean, cozy, and had that bright brunch vibe that makes you want to stay a while. Highly recommend -- 5 stars!

We didn't wait…read moretoo long for our table and we were greeted by an overly enthusiastic server fairly quickly. What I mean by this is, it was not a genuine energy or interaction. It felt very forced. We ordered - I had the Morning Meditation and the Avocado Toast. My husband had the Honey Crunch Iced Coffee and the Elevated Egg Sandwich on a croissant. When my drink came, the server left it on the table without a straw. I waited thinking she was getting one and when she was gone for a while, I went to the counter to get it myself. The drink itself is excellent - you can taste the ginger and orange but not the beet. Very refreshing. The Avocado Toast was a disappointment. There was no flavor to it and the hard poached eggs I ordered were soft poached. I wouldn't get this again. My husband liked his drink and food. He let me try the egg sandwich and it was very flavorful. It's just a heavy item for breakfast. We had not visited this location since just after Covid because the service and food were declining. This visit was just okay. They were so much better when they first opened.

Update: I still absolutely love this place and hands down their biscuits are the best. Fluffy and…read moremoist; a little spicy sausage gravy for some pizzazz. They biscuit cut is a large portion so I usually go for a one biscuit with gravy and a poached egg on the top. Perfection! Parking situation update, seems they have an agreement to let people park in the Main Street Kitchen lot along the south side of their building. This opens up a lot of parking options since their actual lot is always full and a dead end so it's awkward to maneuver your exit if you don't find a spot. Also post office on a Sunday is also available. Or the city hall lot we've done on holidays or weekends. We've almost always gone as a pair and been able to get seating during the in between times of breakfast and lunch; some say brunch on weekdays or after the lunch rush around 1pm. During the summer the few tables outside have been empty so we snag those. Food is quick and coffee or orange juice are very good. This place is a gem and they do a great job with dine in and take out.

I ordered the Mediterranean skillet, lemon pancakes, and a side of biscuits and gravy. Yes, this was a heavy breakfast! The Mediterranean skillet had plenty of feta, which I LOVED but it was dry overall. There was no sauce to really bring everything together. I even got eggs over medium and the egg yolk did not add much creaminess. It was good, just not my favorite thing I've eaten. The lemon pancakes were absolutely unreal. Sooo fluffy and the cream cheese frosting was incredible. I would 100% recommend them. I also tried a side of biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was very thick, which was not my favorite, but the gravy itself was amazing, but it's the white super peppery kind, which I know is not everybody's favorite! Again, just kind of dry, even with the gravy. The service was good, and for a Saturday around 11 AM, the 20 minute wait was totally reasonable. I would definitely come back, just probably not for the skillet next time.

Alex Royal Grill is located in a strip mall, but don't let that deter you. Sometimes those are the best hidden gems. Service was a little on the slow side even though it wasn't very busy, but honestly, I may have noticed it more because I walked in very hungry. That said, my waitress was absolutely delightful--super friendly and attentive, and she made the wait much more pleasant. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage patties and eggs. The portion size was solid and definitely filled me up. The gravy was delicious, the eggs cooked perfectly over medium, and the sausage patties were flavorful. They were just a touch more cooked than I personally prefer--but I can't really judge, as I tend to do the exact same thing when I make sausage at home. Overall, this experience was easily a strong 4.5 out of 5, and close enough to five stars that I'm comfortable giving it one. I'll definitely be coming back to try more of the menu. If you're in Troy and looking for a down‑to‑earth spot with good food and friendly service, this place is worth checking out.

I ordered the "Double Trouble" -- French toast loaded with cookie dough, Oreos, Nutella, and chocolate sauce. Let me just say... that dish is a train straight to diabetes. In all seriousness, it was absolutely delicious and indulgent, but definitely on the overly sweet side. If you have a serious sweet tooth, this one's for you. My wife went with the Classic Eggs Benedict, and that was excellent -- well-balanced flavors and cooked just right. The breakfast potatoes, however, were a bit bland. They were cooked well texture-wise but could definitely use more seasoning. Service was so-so, though it seemed like they were pretty busy, which likely played a role. The location is great -- conveniently about a mile from Woodside Church, one of the largest churches in Michigan -- so I can imagine it gets especially packed on weekends. One important note: restroom maintenance needs attention. With only a single restroom per gender, cleanliness is critical. My wife noticed the toilet seat wasn't clean, which is something that should be addressed promptly, especially in a high-traffic establishment. Overall, the food quality was strong, particularly the main dishes, and we'd likely return -- but there are definitely a few operational details that could elevate the experience.
