Never altered what I requested to have done. When asked her to redo it, she ruined it and I couldn't wear it at all afterwards.

A came here a while ago to get hemmed. I had never been; I always get my alterations by Irma ( look her up she's perfect). However Irma was on vacation and my event was coming up so I came to Nonie. She was pretty cold, but she took my measurements and said she could get it done in time. When it was done, I went to pick it up. It cost me more than $50!! I've never had Irma charge more than $20ish! Also, the garment smells musty and strange now, even after she only was in possession of it for a few days. I sent to fix two pairs of jeans (reduce the waist). I wish I can post a picture to demonstrate the poor work. Whoever fixes that pants (I think was the very same Nonia) was so lazy to change the thread color in the sewing machine. The person used black thread to make the alteration, leaving the untouched part of the waits in the original yellow-mustard thread that characterize jeans. I asked Nonie about it, she told me that she used black because she did not have a similar yellow thread. From far you can see that she has like 300 colors of thread hanging in her shop's wall, from those, perhaps 30 are shades of yellows. She charged me $55.00 for fix this two waist. I paid but I asked if she can re-do the job using at least a similar color, she told me that it will take another week to fix it. In addition, she removed the brand-tags of the jeans in the process to reduce the waist, I ask her about the tags. She told me that she charge extra to re-attach the tags, so she decided just throw the tags away, so, my pretty new pair of jeans do not even have their original brand tags on it. What a customer can do in front of those answers? I just leave. I meet my husband in the parking lot and he decided go back to the shop and ask for the money back or a fast fix of the pants, she refused both. HORRIBLE SEAMSTRESS!! Actually, I don't even think she IS a seamstress! I took my wedding dress here to be altered and it was a mess! She had me try the dress on and did the measurements, which went okay. However, when I got my dress back to do the final fitting, it was 2 inches above the ground and it was a crooked hem! It looked like a child literally did the hemming, not Nonie! When I told her I was dissatisfied with it, she kept saying that I told her to take that much off (which I did not)! She had her friend come take a look at it and her friend said it looked fine (come to find out, her friend is the one who actually did the hemming, not Nonie). Nonie told me that she could fix it and I told her not to do anything else to my dress; I just wanted to take it home. When I refused to pay the full price for the alteration, Nonie grabbed my dress and refused to give it back to me until I paid the full amount. When I went outside to call the police, she I saw her friend leave with a plastic storage bin (come to find out, Nonie had stuffed my dress in the box so that her friend could take it off the premises to "fix" my dress, after I specifically told her not to do anything else to it)!! My fiancee and I called the police, but they were unable to do anything about it. So in the end, I ended up having to pay the full price of the alteration just to get my dress back!! And when my fiancee and I were trying to pay, she kept saying that we were not allowed to pay with a credit/debit card, we had to pay with cash (despite her sign saying they accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover) because she was paranoid that we would stop payment on the transaction and she wouldn't get her money!! But I would never ever EVER recommend that anyone go to this place for alterations!!! She is a very rude, totally unprofessional lady who does a horrible job with alterations!!!!! read more

Nonie did a great job with both prom dresses I had her alter. I'm tiny and she brought them in to just the right size, and made it so they could be taken back out (they were both rented). She wasn't exactly very warm and friendly but I got what I wanted for my money. read more
