I'm writing this on here because (smart on their part) WWB (Winter White Barn) does not have a yelp to review on. Let me start off by saying that nothing has ever compelled me more to put the truth out about a "business" then now. I realize that on your special day, I'm sure there might be a couple hiccups in the day of or even the days before but when I say this establishment does not have anything in order, they do not. I'm going to try and be as respectful as possible, unlike the owner Kelly and her husband at Winter White Barn. My sister chose this venue because of it's charming appeal, boy oh boy was she mistaken. Firs things first, you do not get everything you see in their pictures that they offer you, in fact they will ask you what decorations you want and when you decide and they tell you it's yours, will take it away from you right before your wedding so that you have to scramble to find replacements. We had the not so pleasurable chance to go into their decorations basement where we were met with a crazy amount of rat poop on some books she wanted to use as decorations. Let's get to the really important stuff... we arrived at the venue at 4:30 since we were only allowed to be there 1 hour before the wedding started to use the suite for getting ready and really important photos like getting in her dress and first looks, well... there was no electricity anywhere which meant it was SUPER hot in the suite and she ended up having to go outside in a ugly driveway to take these important photos and first looks. As her maid of honor and sister. I went to look for answers and came across a man walking around and I asked him if he worked there and asked him if he had any update on the electricity and he was so rude to me and literally tried to make me feel like I was stupid for asking and said " yeah, Kelly is looking for a generator, who knows when she will be back" while rolling his eyes at me and walking away... come to find out this is her husband, nice. The generator did not arrive until after her ceremony was supposed to start, no apologies from madame Kelly. My sister paid extra to have sparklers at their grand exit and well, my sister didn't actually get the sparkles she paid for, in fact Kelly kept them in her home and gave my sister half the sparklers and not even the ones she brought (that's called stealing). The icing on the cake (don't even get me started about the the cake almost falling over because the cake stand they provided was unstable and had very one on the edge of their seat) is that my sister paid extra money before hand to have an extra hour and didn't get it due to the venue losing electricity and the ceremony starting late... with that being said, my sister reached out to the venue (respectfully) about getting her money back for the extra hour she didn't get and let me tell you, the response Kelly gave was vulgar, full of cursing and name calling. She complained about how her back hurt (wait, what?) and said it was her husband's day off (wait, what?) and that my sister was a bridezilla (actual quote) and that she was embarrassed how my sister talked to her vendors... my sister literally didn't speak to anyone on her wedding day, we handled it all while she was sitting in her hot bridal suite melting off her bridal make up she paid money for. This is very long and there is so much but please, do not use this venue if you want the perfect day. I cannot believe Kelly and her husband feel it's okay to curse and name call paying clients and make up lies to cover up for them not being capable to have a fully functioning business. If you are interested we have a copy of the email she sent, so insane. Please share and make sure that no bride gets treated the way my sister did and please do not support businesses who try and make you feel not worthy of a perfect day.
I forgot to mention she told my sister that she's lucky her husband married her because of the person my sister is, that is no lie she said that and I was as shocked as you. I'm curious what she will have to say to email proof of her actions that I don't mind posting to reference. read more
