Through a series of fortunate connections, but most importantly through dispatcher Chris early on a Sunday morning, I was able to track down the cab number based on the time of the ride and the fare. Chris was very pleasant and helpful as I called multiple times trying to reach the cab. Ultimately the management team at Lone Star, was able to connect with the driver, and get my wallet returned to me. I am sure most cab companies are the same, and probably only get reviews when someone is upset. In this case, the time, effort and care that Lone Star put into recovering my wallet, would indicate that they are a top notch outfit. Give them a call when you need a cab in Houston!

The Wave is a great service and if you're looking for a good time, call them instead of Uber…read more I started taking The Wave after I was introduced to it by a friend who went out multiple times a week and he had the membership so it was a great value. For $15 per person, you get an "All-Access" wristband which gives you unlimited rides all night. This is cheaper than a cab and if you plan on going to multiple places, cheaper than Uber. The Wave allows you to bring alcohol on-board so you can pre-game a little bit before you arrive at your destination. This is great if you have a large group of people because it really gets the party going. Riding this around closing time is a treat even if it takes a long time to get home, depending on the number of pick-ups/ drop offs the driver has to make. Drunk people dancing on stripper poles tends to be the highlight! The Wave can be reserved and has a small bar to store booze if you choose this option. I love The Wave!

Uber generally gets me to where I wanna go in Houston for relatively cheap, considering the sheer size of this city. There always seem to be people available nearby and have never had to wait more than 15 minutes for a ride or so. Prices are going up. It seems like the drivers are getting pinched more and more. The drivers are often interesting people. You don't really know who you're going to get- it's fun chatting them up, but some just wanna be left alone. I wish there was a setting in the app to let you or the driver know if the other person would rather be left alone. This city is big, that you have to watch it- going from, say, NRG stadium, to the Woodlands could be an expensive endeavor.
