I know that my dog has to work through her stranger danger issues on her own schedule before she can feel comfortable, and I can't imagine boarding her at a facility where I know she would often be afraid, no matter how wonderful the care. Sarah was very responsive to all of my very detailed needs, wants, and worries about each of my three pets. The pet sitters, walkers, and staff have been perfect -- I really can't say enough complimentary things about all of them. Amelia and Frances' patience with my little fearful puppy and their delight at seeing her overcome her fear to embrace them both as her new best friends (especially if treats and walks are involved!) has been a really great experience. They have also gained the attention and trust of my cats, and they seem undaunted by my super specific instructions about feeding routines, medications, etc. I especially appreciate that communication with SPCR is excellent -- responsive and timely and professional. I get photos from every dog walk that my pup goes on, and a little report. I appreciate those so much, and they give me a little jolt of happiness in the middle of the work day, seeing my doggy smiling and having a good time. The phone app SPCR now uses makes the whole experience that much more user friendly.

The boarding area is clean, the dogs are taken out 4 times a day and get plenty of TLC while in their care. In addition, this business gives back to the community by grooming dogs for the Jefferson Protection and Animal Welfare Service, the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter. This sweet shelter stray that was given a bath and groom to make him more adoptable. He came to the shelter filthy, emaciated and very matted to the skin. Thank you Grooming and Boarding Cottage for making him look and feel like a new dog! And... He's been adopted!!

You can rest assured the team members caring for your fur babies will love your pets and give them wonderful care, as I did. They also spend as much time as needed communicating with owners to book services, or answer any questions or concerns you may have. Brendan is one of those bosses that truly appreciates your hard work and always lets you know it. He is honest and fair in all aspects of his business. I was skeptical and nervous for my dog. This place is truly special!! My dog had a little area to as she's super skittish around people that she doesn't regularly see. They made her feel at ease, which surprised me. As of late , they take strict precautions as far as Covid is concerned. They come get your pooch from your car and offer payment options while in your vehicle. I can't say enough about how much Hickory Knoll has changed my perception of Veterinarians. Peace of Mind is bonded and insured. Ms. Creel is the proprietor and a Registered Veterinary Technician. She offers a couple of levels of service, visiting the house as needed or even sleeping over to care for pets. Ms. Creel met us at the house. She provide references and proof of insurance. We worked through a checklist of the dog's needs and habits. She then spent time with the dog. We agreed on a twice a day schedule to visit the house which included a substantial walk every evening. She also agreed to pick up the newspaper, mail and water a few plants. While we were away, Ms. Creel took great care of our shedding monster. She texted us regularly with updates, and left a running series of notes on how the day went. We have used Ms. Creel 3X in the past year and hope to continue using her. It is about twice the cost of boarding the dog which is well worth the peace of mind (no pun intended). I strongly recommend Peace of Mind and Ms. Creel.
