Noire The Nails Bar, Landings Shopping Center, 2656 LPGA Blvd, Daytona Beach First off lets get to the nitty gritty ... expensive or reasonable? $$$$$ expensive, especially for what you don't get. I've been going there for a while because ... well ... I live relatively close (in Margaritaville) and it's convenient. If there was another nail salon in a reasonably close proximity, I certainly wouldn't go back to this establishment. The latest snafu, aside from getting a toe infection from non-sterile equipment a couple of months ago, was not getting what I paid for. The nail tech "Nan" who couldn't divert her attention away from tik tok on her phone filled the water basin with cold water, joked about coming back tomorrow when it warms up, handed me the color and service catalog and when I said I didn't want color ... just a pedi she asked what kind of pedi and hit me with the same joke ... To come back tomorrow. It must have been a joke because she cracked herself up by repeating it at least 4 times. I'm no fashion guru but so, I'll never grasp the attraction of torn jeans that makes a person look impoverished instead of fashionable. Nan was not fashionable ... she was sloppy with torn jeans, her shirt was dirty and in disarray. This is an appearance service industry and appearances should be kept professionally casual. Ah, but maybe I should have gone back tomorrow (which I did ... read on). The pedi, went as follows ... soak feet in cold water for 5 minutes then cut the nails. She dug out a hangnail from my right big toe after cutting. She used a buffing pad (not the cheese grater) on my callous heels then massaged my calves before wrapping them in a hot towel and said I should come back tomorrow only this time she was offering some sort of massage. What is missing from the description is that Nan never addressed my cuticles, never filed, shaped or buffed my cut nails and didn't smooth out my coarse heels. Feeling like she was draining my life energy I paid my bill and left completely disappointed. So here we are ... the next day and you bet ... I went back ... to complain. Not to get a refund or a discount on future services ... just to complain about services rendered or lack thereof. Cheyenne called for the manager and told her I wanted to make a complaint. The manager queried "complaint"? in a loud enough voice for me to hear but didn't bother coming to talk to me as she probably feared that I was going to demand a refund. And as experience has taught me, Asians do not like to give refunds or discounts. Maybe now this will get their attention. As for going back to The Noir Bar ... it's convenient for me to go there but they have horrible attitudes except the one girl Katie who does my nails. They tried to charge my niece for a second pedicure for someone else. Then they get an attitude when you call them out on it. Don't like the new owners!!!!! read more

4 year customers! Spend $400 a month there! Today we were told because my husband didn't spend $35, his manicure was $30, they would not stamp his card. Ok no big deal but this is not our first incident.... I love who does my nails and so does my hubby but we are open to a new place that respects loyalty. I have been a few times before, it was very nice. I called & made an appt for Nuskin mani-pedi (highest price), said I get nail designs & would like a couple of areas waxed. These process would be a few hundred dollars. They tell me to pick a color, I'm getting designs & usually I show the design & they pick the colors & I pick one for the toes. I grabbed a color for the pedi & they started, it wasn't the one I asked for. I was asked about the mani design showed em, ok then come back what are you getting show em, oh can't do it I said forget it all finish the pedi & I'm done. I usually get hot stone, massages, collagen treatment etc I got to soak my feel it water, my nails were cut & nails painted all for $50. I noted their ratings had gone done on the review page & now I know why. They must be doing well to lose the money I was going to spend. read more

I have had my nails done many times at Noire Nails. I have used Tracy who I believe is now the owner. She does a very good job but is very cold and unfriendly. You will be lucky if she gives you a hello or a smile. She also will not have any conversation with you no matter how often I tried to make some small talk. She is constantly looking at her phone and texting while she is doing your nails. Other customers have voiced the same thing. It is very unprofessional. She is in the service business and should act accordingly. I am seriously thinking of moving to another salon. Your customers should be appreciated, not ignored. read more

Not overly thrilled with the service here. I walked in last Saturday to get a pedi and a nail fill. The place is bright and clean and I was seated super quickly for my pedicure. It was great and just what I needed. I opted for no polish and moved on to get my fill and this is where it was bad. When it was finished my fill was uneven and not sanded down smoothly, so my nails appeared wavy on the surface. The fill didn't cover some of the actual grown out part of the nail. Wasn't overly thrilled with this and had already been there for over 2 hours. It's ok if you are in a rush and for a pedicure, don't expect much otherwise. read more

this new owner is horrible. All I did was ask a question and I feel like I got yelled at & her technicians got yelled at. I don't feel comfortable there anymore and it is gone so downhill I will never be back. I don't feel appreciated and I feel like I get yelled at. It's horrible there. I feel like they behind your back and it's intimidating and unwelcoming. I actually feel bad for the technicians there. They are actually very nice. It's this new owner that is horrid. read more

Actually a -1: Don't use this salon! I was visiting a friend who recently built in Margaritaville. Super convenient since we could commute via golf cart. Bad pedi and even worse manicure! This bad experience cost me a lot and even more when I arrived home. I had a male technician. He was pleasant enough, although he didn't engage much even though I did try to bridge the language barrier. Long story short - I went in asking for a pedi, which was okay, and "tips". It became very clear that something was amiss. When I asked him what he was doing ... he simply didn't respond. When I asked again, the receptionist finally approached and said "he will make your nails nice ... w/ a dip". Tip vs dip? Hmmm. No soak, just shoving my fingers into their dip powder. I went w/ it because I'm not a jerk. The effects were horrible! My nails are shot now and I paid a lot of money for something I didn't want, and certainly didn't give me the desired effect. The communication was clarified prior to my initial "dip". I was thinking "why doesn't he change the plan and do "tips"? Anyway, back in New York and my nails are literally so damaged. Also, there was an issue between 2 customers where 1 client was involved in a loud, heated cell phone conversation and another client who repeatedly, and loudly, was asking client #1 to call whomever she was talking to to call back later. Things got pretty heated, and staff didn't respond to the conflict whatsoever. Thankfully, client #1 ended her call, but it was stressful. Just recently moved to Daytona and this was my second visit for a manicure. Will NEVER go back. Terrible mani. Sloppy. But the worst part was that Kevin made my nail (just 1) so thin that it is soft (I have really hard good nails), bendable at the tip (!!!) and hurts! I went back to advise, not looking for anything, and I was told the mani was indeed bad but she doesnt know the previous condition of my nails. She did admit she could see it was thin but said it could have been that way. It wasnt. She offered for him to 'fix'. How do you 'fix' a filed too thin nail? ‍ Did she really think I would let him? I had a mani/pedi at Noire this week and had a great experience! They spoke to me as soon as I walked in the door and I was seated within a couple of minutes. The atmosphere is calm and serene. I went in here thinking I was going to get a manicure and a pedicure. Next thing I know I'm leaving with a full set of acrylic nails, a gel pedicure and $220 later I highly recommend you go somewhere else there are many nail places in the area that do work that is just as good that does not require hundreds of dollars. read more
