1-Star - Extremely Disappointed with Customer Service and Outdated Policies…read more I'm basing this review solely on customer service. Today, I had an unavoidable situation--my kids' babysitter had to cancel last minute. I immediately called Gentle Dental first thing in the morning to reschedule. Their response? "We can reschedule, but there's a $50 fee." Seriously? What is this--1985? I'm already paying premium prices for care, and now I'm hit with a penalty for a genuine emergency? No flexibility, no understanding, no effort to retain a loyal customer. My family has brought them plenty of business, and this is how we're treated? When did customer retention stop being a priority? When did we normalize this kind of price gouging and corporate coldness? Shame on any business that thinks this is acceptable--especially in healthcare. Rescheduling still brings them business, just not my business after today! Gentle Dental, you've lost a loyal customer. I refuse to be treated like this! FYI! My appointment was for 4pm... I called at 9:30.. that's plenty of time to fill the void!

After Guberman's retirement and not liking his replacement, I went to two who offered special introductory rates, but one prescribed expensive gum work (Aspen) and the other (Family Dentist) a couple expensive crowns then from recommendations I went to Hoffman (he saw neither) and I was satisfied for about 5 years until he retired and upsell resumed with his replacement. I then went to research a couple who were rated as best in the newspaper surveys. Both required an introductory package (Spoonwood $375-with a 3% senior discount and Perry $497-no discount and said they might reject xrays from other dentists). Then I saw Gentle Dental with an intro package of $79 but approached with trepidation foreseeing upselling. But none. And I liked the office staff better than all previous noted. The technician who did the xrays was nice and the most thorough xrays I have ever had. The hygienist was especially cordial and thorough as was the dentist who found my mouth in especially good shape. There you have it. I avoided upselling, found great people, and had a thorough introductory package which supports a senior, fixed income, no insurance budget.

I'd be careful with this practice. They are quick to encourage more extensive, more costly…read moresolutions to seemingly small dental problems. In addition, I'm not convinced all their personnel are fully trained. The front office staff/hygienists are friendly. No issues there. However, last year I was encouraged to have a crown put in. The procedure was done in one appointment. After moving away and finding another dentist this year, it was revealed in a subsequent exam that the Perry crown was badly botched. (See attached exam image.) The crown edges were not fitted/cemented thoroughly, allowing for food substances to collect in the gaps. The crown now needs to be replaced, and repair work has to be done on that tooth. My partner was also encourage to have a crown put in due to a hairline fissure in her molar. Upon review at out current dentist, no fissure was noted and no crown was recommended.

The procedure included removing the existing crown and its oversized post from a small tooth (with no damage), then, drilling a new root canal, and filling a gum-level cavity in the tooth, inserting a new post, and finally, making and attaching a new crown. All of this, which usually involves appointments with three specialists over a few weeks, was accomplished in his facilities within 3 hours! Wonderful experience at Raynor Dental We recently had a…read moregreat experience at Raynor dental after my wife wound up needing an emergency extraction. Over the weekend and into early this week a tooth she was having trouble with became very painful. Our current dentist, could not do anything until mid December. I researched emergency dental care and found Raynor. Patty answered the phone and was so pleasant and helpful. Patty conferred with one of the dentists, Dr. Leora Hilbert, and they were able to get my wife in later that day. Amazing! We arrived in early afternoon and met Jill who kept me informed of what was happening while my wife went with one of the hygienists to prepare for the extraction. While not pleasant, the extraction went well and my wife was thrilled with Dr. Leora and her wonderful personality & easy going nature as well as the hygienists. All in all we are very impressed with Raynor so much so we are moving both our dental care to Raynor. Our thanks to everyone at Raynor who played a part in getting my wife's issue resolved so quickly and in such a friendly and compassionate manner!

She was gentle when taking my x-rays. Aspen has new advanced ways of x-raying that surprised me. Charlie is my hygienist. He spent much time reviewing my dental issues with me and started developing a treatment plan. I liked the way he included me and listened to what I would like. I trust him. I also met with Dr Choi. He is also very professional and will do my dental work. I have great confidence in his skill by the way he explained the dental work I need. Finally, I met with Maura. Dr. Drower is gentle and friendly and his staff is (was) pleasant as well. Suddenly, I noticed that there was / is a huge turnover rate among his staff (red flag) and there is always someone I have never seen before who looks at my teeth. The major reason I'm giving Dr. Drower a one star review is because for the past year and a half or two I literally have not seen Dr. Drower in person. I get my teeth cleaned three times a year. Dr. Drower does not work on Fridays, and for the past 1 1/2 to 2 years, the staff schedules me on Dr. Drower's day off. Also, there was one time that Dr. Drower was in the office working when I had my dental appointment. My dental hygienist was concerned about what she found on my x-ray but Dr. Drower refused to take a look at my x-ray, even though it showed a possible cavity; in my opinion this borders on malpractice. Sadly, I cannot recommend Dr. Drower to anyone. His practice has gone downhill since I first started going. I'm looking for another dentist, hopefully one who will actually look at my x-rays and will provide dental care for my teeth.

She had the braces for over 6 years, initially being told they would be off in 2 years. Being that this is her senior year of high school, I told an office worker via the phone that her self esteem was plummeting and we could no longer wait appointment after appointment always being told maybe in a couple of visits. Those couple of visits stretched into over 2 years! Today, we waited for 25 minutes to be been while every other person in the waiting room was called. Once my daughter was seen, she was made to feel guilty about the braces coming off early. Take it up with the mother, not the child....totally inappropriate and unprofessional!
