The coolest Sunday sesh I've found so far. Wood fire pizza and live music. No drink specials though.

Only downside was how busy it was and how long it took for the food to come out. Also a little pricey for the size of the portions served but still a taste sensation! Highly recommended.

Romance, cocktails and good food were required but my Yelp-fu had yet failed to lead us anywhere particularly good. As we wandered down Surf Parade we realised our options were slim. Koi Restaurant looked very full and the menu was promising but we were politely advised there would be a 20 minute wait for a table. Next door we scoped out Bin 89 and managed to snake a couple who took a few more minutes perusing the menu. We knew our options were closing out fast so we made a dash to land the last table in the whole place. A pokey little two-seater right next to the service desk. Not ideal, but we were smug. The wait staff were welcoming and quick to offer us water and menus. We were able to order cocktails quickly. I had the Purple People Eater which was initially a little strong, but mellowed with the melting ice and the boy had a red wine served in a mini-caraffe - I don't know if it was the sheer size of the glass, but it looked like a teeny tiny serving. We decided quickly on our food order. I went with "small plates" of salmon mousse (served on a half shell), beef taco and salt and pepper calamari. I have a small appetite at the best of times and being gluten free, I had limited (but clearly labelled!) options. The boy went with the rib eye fillet and red wine jus with mash. Very manly (and typical) of him to order meat and potatoes. My salmon mousse was to-die-for. Like, lick the shell clean good. I was making very raunchy noises and my date had to tell me to tone it down it was so fabulous. I considered ordering a second, but remembered I had two more dishes coming. The calamari was so-so. The mayonnaise was fine and creamy, and the batter wasn't too thick and had the right amount of crunch.. the squid was soft and not rubbery at all it was just.. boring. And oily. And very meh. Then the taco arrived. It was a thing of beauty. The shredded beef was spiced to perfection where my mouth felt slightly warm but not obnoxiously hot. The accompaniment in the soft corn tortilla cut through the heavy meat and added delicious texture. I regret not recording the description somewhere as I really have no idea what ingredients they used. Too many cocktails before dinner perhaps? Regardless I enjoyed the ambience, wait-staff and menu items so much I want to go back immediately. Or whenever we have an excuse to spend a weekend on the coast and dine out.

Last Friday they texted me to confirm our reservation. I was very pleased at the time that they did this and was looking forward to our dinner. We had arrived around 445pm and noticed the doors were locked, lights off, and no one inside. We figured it was just because we were a bit early so we waited till 5pm. Still there was no one to be seem. At 503pm I texted the number that I spoke with on Friday to confirm our reservation, yet got no response. At 506pm my partner called the number for the restaurant and a man had answered what sounded like his cell phone. He explained to the man that we were waiting outside and that the reservation was even confirmed. The man was not apologetic at all and insisted we come back at 530pm because that is when they open. We waited till about 515pm and at that point left as we had plans later that evening. Not once did they apologize for their actions or try to justify the experience except for at 527pm when they must have finally arrived and texted us to see if we were coming back and offered an apology. I have never seen such unprofessional service at a restaurant before. Not only did they physically text to confirm the reservation and not show up for it - but they also did not have any justification for their actions. I definitely will not be back and will not be recommending others to come here.

A glimpse of Espana across the mall. That'll do. Service was sincerely friendly and knowledgable. The menu was too tempting - we wanted one of everything. We settled on the paprika spiced chicken skewers with mojo verde, slow cooked pork belly with lentils and quince alioli and tortilla with jamon. Exquisite. The wine list is entirely Spanish. The La Tremenda Monastrell (2008) from Alicante. My gosh. Liquorice. Coriander. A dusting of dried summer fruits (cherry and apricot and plum). A seriously beautiful wine that had me in a field tending to my seasonal food forest. Romantic stuff. If you are ever in the area, especially on a quiet Sunday afternoon, check this place out. You will not be disappointed. And do try the La Tremenda Monastrell.

After ordering our first two dishes and first round of dishes he returned to inform that the drink I had ordered had run out. It didn't even bother me at this stage as I was trying something new so I ordered the next drink on the menu and have now discovered my new love of strawberry and lime cider, needless to say, I'm still a happy customer. The waiter then returned and informed me that the coated, crunchy beef dish I ordered had been a popular choice and, once again, had run out and suggested a few other dishes I might like. Again, I was trying new thing tonight which is rare for me but left the fate of my first meal to the waiter. After looking back at what the waiter suggested on the menu I started to worry. What he had suggested was a poached beef on sweet potato mash with pees. I started having doubts that something would be served up that was ordinary that I could easily prepare at home and when it came out my worries weren't soothed, it was exactly how I imagined. 5 thin slices of rare beef on a bed of sweet potato mash with pees. It was quite a long wait for the first dishes also. The moment the fork peirced the small slice and the second I ran the knife blade through the sliver of red, juicy beef I knew I had been corrected with a meal that had ALOT of thought and skill in making. The smoothness of the sweet potato and the salty juices that had surrounded the meal mixed together with the beef in a purely eye closing experience, I just couldn't keep them open and the groaning noises of delight were slightly embarrassing, but with the relaxed atmosphere I was so carefree it didn't matter at all. The Pork Belly that my wife had was super succulent and had so much flavour. The portion was large and came topped with a sweet layer of apple and beetroot to perfectly cut the super salty kick from the pork! That layer of crackle, so salty and crunchy and perfect. I could have left at this stage and given a great reveiw. We decided to keep going for more but our waiter had disappeared from the scene. I tried to make it obvious that we were ready for more by looking at the menu and looking around but staff didn't seam to notice for about 10 mins and continued tidying tables and making the place look good. There were few other customers and it felt we could have been looked after a bit better, in saying so I did need alot of time to decide on what I wanted to try next. I ended up heading to the bar and the barman was happy to help and take my order which was great. The next round of dishes arrived super fast and I was SUPER happy. My ocean and earth bruchetta was absolutely to die for! The flavours all complimented each other with such a zing and pop with the lime slice squeezed over the caviar and running through the layers of smoked salmon and squid, eventually finding its way to the rare beef slices layed over a superbly crunchy base. I wake up craving that experience again. One of the bar staff suggested the salt and pepper calamari which we tried, perfectly cooked which is rare! There was however an abundance of flour in the coating. It wasn't terrible but I wouldnt order it again simply because of the other items on the menu. Overall, 9/10 and an awesome night out with the wife. P.S. My wife was ordering cocktails all evening and at one stage wasn't sure what she wanted. The barman spent time explaining different drinks and ended up choosing one for her that she LOVED. Extra points for great personality and patience.

A joke of a punishment for the crime. On video you can see this sick man speed up in a Audi, intentionally, to hit a child on a bike on the side of the road out of traffic. He proceeds to scream at the child, while the child pleaded for his life. I hope karma does her magic. Even more concerning is how Mr. Wright seemed to justify his actions by blaming the child's bike as "illegal," rather than genuinely acknowledging the danger and illegality his own driving posed. I expect higher ethical standards and community responsibility from anyone at the helm of a hospitality business. While the restaurant itself may serve somewhat average food or drinks, I personally cannot support an establishment whose leadership shows such disregard for safety and empathy--especially when a young child's wellbeing is at stake. Until clear accountability and genuine remorse are demonstrated, I'll be dining elsewhere. If you care about patronizing businesses that reflect your values, I would encourage you to consider taking your money and support elsewhere, too. The experience at these venues sucked before these events occurred too, every other option nearby provide a way better experience. Terrible for family photos.

There isn't a parking lot but lots of options for street parking. Upon entering you check in with the host and are escorted to a table. There is tons of seating including an upstairs patio. Now the good stuff - what makes this restaurant stand out? The fact that it is 5 restaurants in 1! Yes you heard that right. In the mood for Italian...they've got that. In the mood for Mexican...they've got that too. Wanting Japanese...yep its there as well. This is like a dream come true for picky and indecisive eaters alike. You are handed a menu with several pages. Each page represents one of the five restaurants with full menus from each. Heres where it gets great - you can order off any menu or even all! For example you can get an appetizer from one, entree from another, side from a different one, and dessert from a new one as well. AMAZING!! Also the waiter/waitress is the one that goes to all the locations to order and bring your food so you just stay seating awaiting the goodness. Now the reason it didnt get 5 stars is because both times I came after I got the food the server basically vanished and I couldnt even get water refills. However for the first half of the meal they have great service. I am already excited for my next visit!
