Brunch of champions...
Often the vacation plot goes you party all night to wake up late. Is missing breakfast a good thing? Never. But you can always have breakfast for lunch or breakfast for dinner. But today, for some Bizarro reason, it's only 11:00 AM, and I wish not to eat breakfast, especially when I see a gorgeous lunch menu item at The Pantry Cafe. My item of choice seems bizarre; but once tasting it, my salivation glands hold onto a good omen of delicious textures and flavors. Are you ready? Octopus Salad. Lightly crisped baby tentacles, mild leafy greens, a bird's nest of fried noodles and a tangy, memorable Asian-inspired vinaigrette. I can't continue ignoring breakfast, my favorite meal of the day. I give in. I order a second helping. They call it, Mushroom on Rye. A gorgeous poached egg with hollandaise rests on golden button mushrooms, over traditional rye toast. Simple, hearty, and satisfying.
Coming back to reality, I wonder, sometimes, how I end up in specific locations, such as Burleigh Heads, Australia...for Christmas. Epic! read more
