We had Terry remodel our 1940s bathroom - electrical, plumbing, tile, tub, painting, toilet, sink,…read morelighting, cabinet, exhaust fan, grab bars, counter, plaster repair - the works! It's now been about 4 months since he finished the work and each day I look at our new bathroom and think "wow!' He did a great job! He was patient and always responsive to any questions or issues, and cleaned up each day. Great workmanship too. He started out by measuring and answering any questions we had, offering ideas here and there but letting us make our own decisions. Unlike some other contractors, he did not give fancy 3D architectural renderings, nor did he accompany us to each supplier to pick out products. Here's what his process was, which was perfect for us. We received a proposal contract which listed each item or task, along with a cost allowance for each item. If we chose something more expensive than its allowance, the final price would reflect the increase. If what we chose cost less than the allowance, the final cost would go down by that much. So we had a bottom line price from the start and would have the final decision on expenses. He then also gave us a list of his suggested suppliers from which to pick out all of the products. We worked with those suppliers to make selections at their respective showrooms (they work with TLC regularly), and they forwarded our selections to Terry. A few selections we made were from suppliers not on his list, which was fine, but the places he suggested were where most of the items came from. When all selections were made, he provided us with a revised proposal contract reflecting our selections and revised costs. Then he - not us - did the ordering from each vendor to insure that all of the parts and pieces fit together and would work, plus that way his contractor discount was applied. His final contract to us was transparent and showed all prices. No additional markups, no change order fees, no nonsense. If someone wants computer-generated architectural renderings, having him present at each supplier meeting, one central showroom where every needed product and samples are all in one place, then this type of contractor isn't likely for you. If however, you want a remodeling contractor that not only provides the quote but also does the actual work himself, with reliable suppliers that work with him, with a fair price and a minimal amount of stress (if that's possible lol), then TLC's a good choice. Would we recommend TLC Contracting? If you haven't it already guessed: the answer is absolutely!

The Mr. Handyman tech did find some additional repairs that needed to be done and did so efficiently. Overall charge was very reasonable and work quality was very high. I will definitely use Mr. Handyman-Waukesha again and I do recommend them most highly.

The remaining three projects were not completed.  Two projects were declined on-site due to "code issues", which should have been identified and communicated during the estimating process and not included in the original quote.  The fifth project was dismissed with the explanation that nothing could be done. Despite no work being performed on three of the five projects, I was charged with the full estimate of $940 for just 4 hours of labor.  Charging for work that wasn't performed is unacceptable.   In addition, the technician arrived 75 late and his demeanor throughout the visit was rude and unprofessional.  He did not demonstrate the level of skill or professionalism I expect from a trained technician. Based on the incomplete work, the unexpected charges, and the unprofessional conduct, I cannot recommend this company.

Michael was extremely attentive, quick to take the project on, paid very close attention to detail, and made sure everything went smoothly from start to finish. The overall professionalism and communication from him, and the team members he brought on, was very appreciated. We were kind of in a rush to get our basement renovations rolling, so as soon as we finished the framing and insulating ourselves, we inquired with Patch Boys to come in for a full drywall install and finish. Within a day or two Michael came by to assess the entire layout, inquire about details, and discuss what the process would look like. We heard back from him a few days later with a very well laid-out quote that included descriptions of each step/phase. He answered my additional questions and we were happy with the pricing, so as soon as we paid the deposit they set up a date to begin. From start to finish it was just about two weeks for the ~1500 sq/ft project. The team was very thoughtful about any mess coming in and out of our home, always sure to properly cover and prepare everything. This job is quite the mess, especially when it came to the heavy amount of sanding required for the smooth texture towards the end. It was great to see their care in the clean up. (Note however, that this dust really travels around so you'll likely have to do some additional cleaning of your own in other areas of the home, as we did). Even when it came to the end of the project, there were minor tweaks and changes that Michael thought were needed to really perfect everything, and we definitely appreciated that attention to detail & willingness to correct what was needed. A great experience overall. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again, or recommend them to others!

I would certainly recommend Patch Boys of S Milwaukee and Brookfield to others and consider them for future work in our home too!

Yesterday, he completed the remodel of our kitchen - tearing out walls and opening up our kitchen and living room. I will never hire anyone ever again to do work on our house. He communicates extremely well, checks in appropriately, and truly takes great pride in every single detail of his work. The work in both of our areas was just like watching one of those TV shows - super fast, super clean, and in the least intrusive way as possible. If there were more than 5 stars, I would give it to him. We found Jeff randomly a few years ago - he came and repaired our chimney that was falling apart. He was the first one to respond to my request and the job was completed extremely well and fast. I didn't know him at all before he did our chimney - and the rest is now history.
