Took a trip down to Noack's on a Saturday morning, easy to find, right off 91. I've been meaning to check this place out for a long time and I was excited to finally get to. Smaller place, cool little German meat market. I was greeted by a very nice young lady who wanted to help me out immediately as I walked in the door. I make the majority of my own Wurst so I'm rather familiar with all their sausages. Still they had many I never heard of or eaten. One of my favorite items was Leberkäse a German sausage loaf in the shape of our meatloaf. Absolutely fantastic! I also picked up course and fine Liverwurst, Weißwurst, Knockwurst, German Bologna and a Keilbasa luncheon meat.......all delicious! If you're looking for German meats that you won't find ANYWHERE else check out Noack's, you won't be disappointed. I know I'll be a regular customer from now on! read more

i have been taken there when i was 4 years of age and have been hooked on their food ever since... since the original family have either passed away or retired, i have still continued to visit their little shop in meriden, ct.... i absolutely love their food (espcially their sausage & keilbasa for which i traveld 2866 miles to restock on their tasty treats... i will always return here as this is my first memory of all places "meriden"... keep up the great work... read more

5/4/21 The light scent of meats being smoked greeted me as I exited my car to enter this long established meat store that I've been meaning to try for years. Although I've driven past it literally hundreds of times, for some reason, I'd never thought to sample what they offer. The interior is clean and neat, having the look of many years of satisfied customers coming through the doors. I decided to try some of their own hot dogs in natural casings, made of a beef/pork blend, some in-store made bratwurst, some delicious looking breakfast sausages, also made in-house, and a couple of ham steaks that caught my eye as the friendly young man was packaging up the rest of my order. I can tell I'll be satisfied with all of it, and will be certain to return for more meat products from Noack's. read more

I got a $60 groupon for an amazing price for my guy for Valentine's Day. What a great gift. He had been there once before & I knew he loved it but I had never been. The lady behind the counter was so friendly and patient with us while we asked questions and recommendations. We told her we were there to mainly get meats for a meat & cheese platter. She went thru and told us all our options & gave us samples too. We got so much meat for $60. We even got a nice ribeye that we made tonight for dinner. It was so tender & tasty. Still putting out fantastic smoked meats, home made sausages/wursts/bacon/chops/German potato salad (OMG!) Lots of smoked treats for jerky and 'slim jim' lovers. [get the dog a lil piece :)] Pierogi's too. Get the breakfast sausages-plump,lean,no gristle...Like no other. I think the old Yankee Silversmith got theirs here. OMG, Noack's! I haven't consumed meat or meat derived products in over ten years. The most irritating question that you can ask a vegetarian or vegan is "do you miss meat?". My reply usually involves a semi vulgar/inappropriate response, but I genuinely don't miss meat at all. Well, except mettwurst. That I definitely do miss. Do yourself a favor and order a log of it at Noack's, some Brooklyn-made rye bread (also available at Noack's), and spread away. And eat an extra piece for me. My nostalgic psyche is full of memories of coming to the "German butcher shop" growing up. I recently visited Noack's for in the first time in years (although my mother and grandmother go several times a month) to pick up some sausages for a sausage-themed barbeque that I was attending. The clerk was beyond patient with me, as I was simultaneously clueless and grossed out while she was explaining to me what everything was. Needless to say, you can expect excellent customer service at the deli counter. Even though Noack's is known primarily for its meat selection, there's plenty of other products in stock --- including canned and boxed foods, AND all of the delicious German/European candy that you could ever ask for. The liquor chocolates and kinder candy are my personal favorites. There's also pretty much every kind of Haribo gummy ever produced in stock, as they are made in Germany. Do yourself a favor and come here, ESPECIALLY if you're German. It's a cultural experience not to be missed. read more

I had the most pleasant parking lot experience - with drivers being very friendly about their car alarms going off or being in the way as I tried to get out of the tiny lot - and I'm pretty sure it was because everyone there had just bought or was about to buy some delicious, quality meat. I've been eating meats from Noack's for a while, but I finally stopped in myself last week to get some smoked dried sausages to add to my boyfriend's birthday present. It was wonderful. All the meats looked fresh, and the staff was extremely helpful. While some prices are a little higher than the grocery store, they're reasonable for what you're getting. The kielbasa is my family's favorite. In fact, my mom brought home some Noack's kielbasa as well as some pork today, and I had the kielbasa for dinner just before I started writing this review. We also love the breakfast sausage, and those smoked sausages I got for my boyfriend were fantastic. I can take or leave the cold cuts, but my parents do pick them up every once in a while. Basically, Noack's just brings happy experiences - from the parking lot, to the inside of the store, to my dining room table. read more

What a great experience. We knew we wanted to try having a German night and this place seemed the best option in finding some nice sausages. We have no idea the selection they have, along with the other items they have for sale. The woman behind the counter was exceptionally helpful, going through all of their sausages, bratwursts, and other meat products, giving suggestions what we might like. I was amazed by the variety of meats, including what looked like very high quality regular ground beef and other cuts. There's also a nice selection German products including noodles and sauces. But the best part of all? The beef jerky. I have never had beef jerky this good before, they let me try a few pieces and I knew I had to get some. Just the right amount of moisture, a satisfying snap while biting, the flavor was spot-on, the pieces were large. We will definitely be coming back to this place for more than the sausages in the future. read more

My boyfriend and I went to Noack's for the first time today to buy some steaks for a recipe he wanted to try. The New York strip happened to be on sale (7.99 a pound!!!!). We purchased four beautiful steaks for around $17, which was awesome. The woman that helped us was super friendly and knowledgeable about the meats. She even gave us a free sample of a German take on beef jerky, it was delicious. Our experience was great and will definitely be going back. I had to go here after seeing all of the great reviews. I stopped there on a Saturday afternoon to pick up meat for a family BBQ. It was pretty busy when I got there, always a good sign. There were dried meats and sausages hanging up behind the counter and every possible meat and sausage also in the case. I purchased: 3 big, beautiful steaks (which were enough to feed 6 adults); 2 large, homemade kielbasa; a pound a half of fresh made breakfast sausage; and the women behind the counter also helped me pick out a dried sausage/jerky to go with my cheese and cracker platter. The ladies helping me were extremely nice and gave me samples of the sausage/jerky they had. I thought the prices were amazing. All of the stuff listed above I got for around $55. Having to buy meats at places like Stop n' Shop or Big Y, this was like a delicious, meat gold mine. I feel so lucky to have a place like this down the road. I am very excited to go back and try their brats and sausages. read more

Family members who have been customers for decades ordered a pig for a 100 person roast in Sept 2019. Pig was ordered a month prior and multiple calls were placed to Noack's between order and pickup date to confirm everything was on schedule and make sure nothing else was needed. Deposit was made. Final confirmation call was placed day before pickup to confirm pickup. When my family member went to pick up pig, Noack's did not have a pig for him and dismissed his concern. Noack's made no apologies, offered no explanation and made no attempt to compensate with other products, money or services. Owner was rude and dismissive and refused work with my family member to find a resolution, who at the time was still trying. My family and in-laws have been Meriden residents for 60+ years and we will never use Noack's again. read more

Any place that smokes their own products on-premises gets the seal of approval in my book. You can't really go wrong here if you love flavors from eastern europe. Keilbasa, Kabanosy, Franks, Sausages & Salumi are abound, and each is made to perfection. They made homemade Golabki, but I haven't tried them yet. I was saddened to hear that their Pierogi is made off-premises. Just as good as anything you can get on broad st in New Britain. read more

Great service. Just went there to pick up some Leberkaese and Landjäger for the Harugari German Club in West Haven. The german club also use Noack's for our bierfest food. Noack's products are excellent and the highest quality you will find in a butcher shop around Meriden! Everything is delicious and our favorite is the ground beef for grilling on the BBQ. The best place for meats and steak in Connecticut. Period. Easy to miss, I actually lived in town for several years before I found it. Once I did and brought home some dry aged rib-eyes and cooked and ate them. We will never again shop for steak anywhere else. Pretty much everything here is great: Black Forest ham and all the stuff that is nasty when purchased elsewhere: Thuringer, braunswiger, liverwurst, whatever... it's all great here. Folks come from all over the east coast with ice chests and stock up. And the cocktail franks are a lot of fun at cookouts without having to eat the whole hog dog. I once had them smoke a wild turkey for Turkey Day... we carved up the bird which tasted like ham interestingly enough. Looked like a turkey, tasted like ham.
