Best beef jerky around, definitely a hidden gem. The hot teriyaki garlic ginger keeps me coming back for more.

This restaurant was waste of money and time. Where to start. The fresh cut fries were burnt. No one thought it is a bad idea to sent food out like that. The oxtails were small and we had to season everything because there was none. Lastly, they have a slice of pound cake for $10. My boyfriend has a sweet tooth so we ordered it. Smallest piece of cake I ever seen and it was dry. If you ever in Ohio and want soul food, try any other place but Agnes.

This is a decent Jamaican Grill. They have a few parking spots on the side and the back. But they…read morego kind of quick. The restaurant is small and has a couple of tables in the dining area and bar seating is available as well. They have a tv over the bar, which had on news while I was there. They also have Jamaican music playing in the dinning area. The restaurant serves bowls with your choice of meat over rice, and your choice of rasta pasta or peas and cabbage. The meats that you can choose from include curry chicken, jerk chicken, ox tail, lamb, fish, and turkey. They also have chicken wings, and chicken cheese steak. To drink they tout brown sugar lemonades. I had to try one. It was good, but no special and no different than regular lemonade. I ordered the chicken cheese steak with a side of plantains. It took about 10 minutes for me to get my food. It was hot, fresh and delicious. It came on a Ciabatta bun and had a unique flavor. The chicken was overflowing out of the bun and i could have probably made another sandwich with the meat that feel out. The plantains were pretty good too. Sweet and juicy. This place gets packed. They had people coming in and out of there. It has a cool vibe. If you find yourself in downtown Dayton, I recommend checking this spot out. They have a small menu of some good food in a trendy atmosphere.

I made reservations for three of us at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 30th. Leading up to it, I…read morereceived at least 3 or 4 text messages asking me to confirm my reservation. I always reconfirmed yes. The last reconfirmation was Friday at noon. Imagine my shock and dismay when my friends and I arrived at noon Saturday to find that the restaurant was closed! There was a paper handwritten sign posted on the door that stated the restaurant was not opening until 3 PM. My friends and I were left standing in the cold, trying to find another place to accommodate us for our holiday luncheon and still be finished in time to attend the play at the Schuster Center which started at 2. All three of us had already paid for event parking in the Arts Garage, as one friend drove from Columbus, one from Cincinnati, and me from Centerville. I understand that emergencies can happen and a restaurant could find itself too short-staffed to open. But after receiving all those reconfirmation texts, not one text was sent to me to notify me in advance that my reservation had to be canceled, so that I had time to make other arrangements. I am so disappointed about this. Last spring I took a different friend to dinner here, also before a production at the Schuster, And we had such a wonderful meal. I was looking forward to introducing two more friends to your lovely restaurant. Now because of the lack of notice or any communication telling me that we could not be served, I am very unlikely to try again. Your system clearly had my cell phone number on file between Yelp and your restaurant website, in order to send out a notice. This is the worst form of service.

The service was very slow and haphazard. The menu is pretty diverse and there's something for every pallet and price range. I went with the turkey burger, and my SO got the chicken alfredo. The seasoning on the food was pretty good and I enjoyed the bourbon sauce on the burger. The chicken alfredo portion was huge. Overall, 2 stars for service, 3 stars for atmosphere, 4 stars for the food for an average of 3 stars.

I'm a sucker for Caribbean food, and was excited to learn that Dayton was getting a new Caribbean…read morerestaurant in the Oregon District. The food, the drinks, the service, everything was truly great. I got the jerk wings, fries with the jerk mayo, cocobread, and fried plantains. It did not disappoint. The wings were thick, juicy, very well seasoned, and slightly, intentionally charred from the grill. If you love wings, you're in for a treat. The fries were great too, fresh cut, similar to Five Guys, and the jerk mayo? These business owners need to bottle and sell it. It is so stinkin' good. It's the next day, and I am craving it after literally one meal. The cocabread was great, fluffy, toasted, with a slight coconut flavor. The fried plantains were, I kid you not, the best I've ever had. Slightly savory, buttery, crispy char and a soft, creamy, sweet interior. I wanted more... and I got more, which brings me to the service. The staff was friendly, enthusiastic, attentive, helpful, and welcoming. The drinks were great, mixed perfectly, not too sweet, slightly stronger than usual (which gets an A+ in my book). There was a 30 minute wait for the wings because they needed to be thawed, and the manager came to our table to apologize and offer us a discount. I would have gladly waited without complaint or dissatisfaction, but the gesture was very much appreciated all the same. He also gave us extra side dishes while we waited. The owners and staff are clearly committed to running a successful restaurant, and so far, they're doing everything right. I loved the meal and was very well taken care of. You will not be disappointed. Also, I very frequently seek out black-owned businesses in the area to patronize, as I believe supporting black entrepreneurship is a critical piece of righting the wrongs of our past. This is a great restaurant and if you give it a try, you will be supporting very deserving local business owners. I will *definitely* be back.
