Steve is consistently a jerk to his customers. I've gone to his shop a couple times in the last few years and he is always an ass. I figured maybe he was having a bad day last time I talked to him; I tried giving him the benefit of the doubt, but this last time will 100% be my last time going since he's a grumpy old man. I asked him to weld up a couple hangers on my new exhaust and finish installing header gaskets on my old truck. He sat and berated me about driving it to his shop, he sat there yelling at me for 20 minutes saying that the headers don't line up, and he tried telling me my headers were warped and my cylinder heads needed to be removed and machined flat, and told me that the header gaskets were a waste of his time because you don't need a gasket if the surfaces are machined flat. He's technically not wrong for wanting to machine it flat, however there is no reason to disassemble the entire engine to do something that a gasket exists for... Maybe he was over-complicating it because he didn't want to do it? He ended up welding the hangers on, however one side is a fair bit lower than the other. I don't mind being that it's an old truck, but still... He's supposedly an experienced muffler shop; the least he can do it weld it straight. I picked it up after he refused to touch the headers (because it was a waste of his time he said) and fixed it myself in 20 minutes at home. He spent more time complaining and yelling at me about it. If you want to give your money to a business owner that will talk down on you, be an asshole to your face, and tell you your work is a waste of time... by all means go see Steve. read more

I heard Steve was the guy to see if you wanted to 'toughen up' your catalytic converter, to prevent theft. After four attempted thefts on my car's cat, I went to see Steve. He welded some heavy rebar on, both upstream and downstream of the unit. It didn't take long, and he didn't charge very much. And I've had no attempted thefts since. I had been hearing a rattle coming from underneath my truck which brought me in on Tuesday. I was fully expecting having to come in an probably replace my CAT and exhaust. I had Steve install my flowmaster exhaust. I really didn't want it loud like my old Sierra, I thought I put a 3 chamber flowmaster on it but I didn't remember. Steve recommended the 2 chamber but I figured I go with the 3 chamber because of my old truck. Boy was I wrong I put the 3 in and it wasn't loud enough so I took it back and Instead if charging me for another flowmaster he just cut off the muffler resonator and just charging me for labor. Now it sounds awesome but not too loud! He's honest and does great work. I'd recommend him to anyone! read more
