Scotty's Auto is the Best! I took my truck in to have my oil pan gasket replaced, there was a bunch of bad work done on my truck previously in Texas. Scotty fixed the bad work and even used one of his own parts from his yard to help me out, I didn't have a lot of cash at the time but he gave me an Amazing deal. He was very kind and explained everything to me in detail. I definitely recommend scotty for you and your family's mechanical work. read more

Needed my evaporator core replaced on my 2012 Ram. Spoke with Scotty on 6/11, he quoted me the fairest estimate with the soonest completion date after calling multiple other shops in town! Dropped my Truck off on 6/12 and got it back on 6/14! He communicated with me throughout the whole process and now my AC is blowing ice cold! 10/10 recommend Scotty's Auto repair for your car needs! read more

Amazing customer service and exceptional mechanic would recommend Scotty's to anyone we had an emergent repair on our mini van on our way to Vegas and he helped us right away and got the job done in no time! Thank you!! read more

So I called Scotty's Auto repair and spoke with Scotty a few days in advance to have my head lights worked on. He asked if I could leave the car there on Friday so I told him yes and moved my schedule around work so that I could drop off the vehicle and then get a ride to work. I get there to drop the car off at 7:30 the time said he'd be there.. He was not there. I left the car unlocked and the keys inside and texted him to let him know. I also asked him to keep me updated. I called twice throughout my workday and received no answer. I showed up at the end of my workday to pick up my car and pay for the services and it didn't get touched. Complete waste of my time. I'm never coming back. I don't recommend this shop to anyone unless you're ok with lack of communication and work not being done. read more

Scotty's Auto Repair - "Auto repair shop" - Auto Repair Near Me - Bakersfield, California

Amazing customer service, he went over and above to make sure that my car was under warranty. This will be my future go to for any car problems. Awesome service. read more

Short version: Scotty's Auto Repair is a inexpensive auto repair that's convenient, a good price, and best of all, run by someone who really knows what he's doing. Scotty is very responsive to calls and texts, and responded within a few minutes every time. The shop is in a good location with plenty of parking too, literally right off the main freeway. He even checked and topped off my tires to get me ready for the trip back to San Diego. This kind of mechanic is sadly, a dying breed. Long version: I was driving from San Diego to San Francisco, when my worst nightmare happened. My car broke down about 70mi from Bakersfield, in what was essentially the middle of nowhere. My oil pan had 1 inch hole, cut by a piece of debris in the road. After calling AAA roadside premier, which put me in a rental and asked me where to tow my car, I asked them to tow it into town, Bakersfield, while I drove off to San Fran. I called a couple places, and most were either closed on Saturday or didn't have the time, or were way too expensive. I called Scotty's auto repair on Friday afternoon, and he was very helpful. When I mentioned I broke down while traveling and got stranded, he said he was able to squeeze me in on Saturday morning. This may not be that fast for everyone, as they seem to have lots of regular/long term clients, looking at other reviews. We discussed price and parts, and that was that. The next morning, I arrived in Bakersfield at 4am, hung out in the rental until thing opened, grabbed the parts, and headed to the shop. He was able to do the repair for a great price, and he charged a great price for the parts he did provide (Sealent, oil, many other shops overcharge). Within 3 hours of dropping it off, it was done, ran, tested, checked, and ready to go! Will I ever go back? Well, I don't live in Bakersfield, so HOPEFULLY not haha, but let's just Say I was lucky I broke down close to here. Oh, and if you have a AAA card, it's AAA certified shop, so if you tell him you have a AAA card, they might give a discount. Not sure about how AAA works though. read more

Scotty has been servicing our vehicles for years now. We find him to be very professional and reasonably priced. We never have to bring the car back because the job wasn't done correctly. We recommend him highly. read more

I have been going to Scotty's for years. I always thought I was getting good work for a fair price. But I just bought a vehicle that needed some work. The A/C wasn't working, and other things needed service. I asked Scott to check it out and he gave me some prices. All of the repairs were expensive. The A/C never worked after two visits he still didnt fix it. The most expensive was the Stabilitrak. Scott wanted 1200 to fix it. I decided to get a second opinion from another mechanic recommended to me. The new mechanic fixed it by just adding brake fluid a $20 repair. I would never trust Scotty's Auto Repair again. read more

I was visiting Bakersfield from out of town and my air conditioning went out during this hot month of June. A friend of mine recommended that I stop by this man auto shop to get it fixed. He was extremely professional, very kind, and was able to help me within three hours and that is the fact that I was a walk in. I highly recommend them and I hope you guys consider helping support the small businesses.!!!! read more

Scotty's Auto Repair was AMAZING. Honest, trustworthy, responsive, fast, friendly. Got me in on the same day I called where other shops didn't even bother calling me back....and he even gave my car a wash when he was done. I would highly recommend! I hope my car doesn't need him again, but if it does, I would definitely go back. read more

Scotty diagnosed and repaired my car quickly. It was excellent service and skill. I'd give him 10 stars if I could.

I have taken two of my vehicles to Scotty ( a 2005 Dodge one ton and a 2014 half ton). He was quick and professional with the Dodge and the same with my Tundra. Most of the time he does everything himself, because it's hard to find reliable and knowledgeable people as employees. He saved me money on parts as well. I will take any of my vehicles to him again because he is an honest, hardworking mechanic who gets the job done right the first time and promptly, which is kind of rare in his line of work. read more

Originally took my vehicle in to get the check engine light figured out. Then got the item fixed and then a leak occurred because of a faulty piece from the factory. Had another issue arise and took it back. Scott took care of all my issues and responded when I had question. He's a nice and patient guy. Would recommend. read more

My daughter suggested I take my truck to Scotty; as she had prior work done at his shop and said she trusted him and that he was honest. I needed AC work and Scotty's estimate was far less expensive for the same work than another shop had quoted me. I was a drop in and Scotty accommodated my truck the same day. Scotty was professional, provided me with a written estimate and explained what I needed. I also asked Scotty if he could inspect my vehicle and he agreed to inspect the vehicle and did not charge me for this service. Scotty advised he sees that there is a leak and pointed out the area that had oil accumulation and wet looking. He quoted me a price in writing on the leak but it was much more than I could afford. Scotty discussed options with me. I did go to the dealer and they too advised of the leak and quoted a price SUBSTANTIALLY more for the same work than Scotty. I would go back to Scotty for the leak repair. I had to come back the next day for the AC job because the part I needed for the AC was not available immediately. Scotty fixed the AC problem and I was happy with Scotty's work. I do recommend Scotty to others who want good prices and a mechanic, not just to be "the next person in line with your vehicle". It did take longer than I thought but that was on me! read more

We were on a long trip that had seen us drive from Las Vegas to Northern California and then as we were leaving Cali..My very loved 2002 Suzuki Xl7 finally pooped out ( It was pulling a Uhaul trailer for the first time ever) Lots of maintenance had already been done and we had just purchased a hitch for close to $400. So all in all we had spent thousands getting ready for our cross country trip that would see us in Florida..To our bad luck we only made it to Bakersfield from Sacramento. We were at a gas station looking for a mechanic but most were closed...Although it was Saturday. We got lucky and decided to try Scotty's..He was busy but told us he would take a look at it.He did and even raised it and did a thorough inspection and said it needed expensive engine work and that was out of the question...We had already dumped enough money into it..Even had bought a used engine and we were heading to Panama..So we had no time for extensive work...We decided to buy another car from the lot directly on the same block as Scotty's ( Not the one across the street ) and he checked that SUV out and said it was in great condition...We bought it and when we went to pay Scott for his inspections...He said..We didn't owe him a dime..Well it's not many people you meet nowadays that show...the class...compassion..professionalism..integrity and honesty as Scott did...He are extremely thankful and grateful for all he did for us..Wish he was our regular mechanic..We highly recommend him and know you will be just as satisfied as we were..Thank you very much Scott...May you continue to be a blessing to others and may God continue to bless you and your lovely family.* *No freebie was received for writing review.Review was written because of the Superior service we received./ Owner was graceful enough..Though we insisted on paying that his inspection didn't warrant a payment.Review was going to be written with payment or none.( This business deserves credit for honesty and integrity superior to other owners/business in it's field..I stand by my honest review.Thank you.* read more

Scotties agreed to do a brake job with me providing parts, when I arrived the man in charge, Scottie I guess, told me it was going to be awhile before he got to me which was fine then asked where I got the parts and had an attitude about me providing parts?? Seemed like he didn't want to do the job so I left, poor customer service not very friendly! Went down the street to Cimentals. Excellent service and work for better price with friendly faces. Highly recommend! read more

We brought my daughter's car her to have the air conditioner repaired. He was much cheaper and far more thorough when diagnosing than several other competitors. Our bill was accidentally charged twice. The owner was very quick to issue a refund, which meant I did not have to hassle with the bank. It is very refreshing to have an honest mechanic that is actually helpful. We will be using this shop again. They offer great work at a great price! read more
