Paid them 15,000.00 to repair my 67 dodge coronet rt. Kept it for 10 years, got it back with missing original parts, missing parts that I purchased and a crappy paint job. They supposedly rebuilt a 440 engine, but it won't run. The car is worse now than when they took it. They nickeled and dimed me till I spent 15,000.00 and when I told them no more money. They just stopped working on it altogether. They moved the car to their house without telling me. When they moved their business they didn't tell me I had to hunt them down. They gave me false promises that they would fix the car as promised when I first took it there under pretense it was only going to cost me 7,500.00. Finally got tired of their lies and picked it up . Not one thing they were supposed to have fixed and I paid for was completed. I would never recommend them to any. read more

I really liked talking to these people, they were very friendly and seemed helpful, but BEWARE! I'm a mechanic and machinist. After changing a set of u-joints on my daughter's '05 Chevy 1500, a vibration developed. Knowing that it is common, I needed to rebalance the driveline, so I called Performance Driveline of Bakersfield. They said it would be a week before they could even look at it. Fast-forward, early Friday morning they called and said my driveline is dented and I need a new one. For $400. I say, "WHAT?! I'll be right down." I asked two people there to show me this dent. The first lady, pointed to the smooth, even smudge mark made by my dirty leather gloves when I was inspecting the driveline with the rear end on stands. I told her that's not a dent! She said she's more than happy to try and balance it but, whether or not it balances, it will still cost $80. The second guy, who appeared to be one of their machinists, looked over the driveline and said it could be bent after the driveline tapers to the pinion yoke and can't be balanced. I told them I'll look into this further. I immediately took it to another shop, PTO Sales, and told them the whole ordeal. In 30 seconds, their machinist said he's 99% sure it's not bent and decided to throw it on a lathe really quick to confirm it. While in plain view, he inspected the driveline and soon presented me with a painted and balanced driveline for $66. So, Performance Driveline of Bakersfield, does not appear to be honest or worth their price of services as attested by me, Annette Carter, Mike And Ema, and Mark Cardwell reviews. I sure hope this review helps you make a decision that works best for you. read more

I used this shop for the first time and was very pleased with their service. Very knowledgeable crew and finished my truck in a couple hours. I had to replace my rear left axel and both u-joints. I took my driveline to be rebuilt by Performance Driveline. I had already purchased everything needed for the rebuild, including brand new u-joints and double Cardan CV Flange Yoke; all brand new in box spicer products; all they needed to do was put it together. Performance Driveline refused to work on my driveshaft, the manager stated "We will not put our name on something that is not going to last". I explained to the manager that the entire set up was Dana spicer, which is what they use. It should be noted that all Ford Super Duty pick-ups come stock with Dana Spicer drivelines, axles, and U-joints. The manager then proceeded to state that, "their CV yokes are made better than what was on the truck", better than Dana Spicer? I don't think so. She continued to state, "that bad parts have a domino effect and start to make other parts break down. At this point, I was fed up and took my stuff and left. I firmly believe that because I purchased my own parts, they felt that they were not going to make any money off of me, so they refused to rebuild my driveshaft. I should also add that I asked what it would cost for them to build me a new driveline; they quoted me $479.99. I went to Jim Burke Ford and got the part number and found the OEM part online that is only $359.92 delivered. Needless to say, I will never again take anything to Performance Driveline. read more

I took in my 99 V6 Firebird which comes with a 2 piece factory drive shaft. They said they could build me a new one piece drive shaft that would fit and run better than what it came with. The manufacturer wanted to charge me more than twice as much! The guys working there were very professional when talking to me and very informative and helpful. Definitely somewhere I would recommend for anything driveshaft oriented. read more
