What a delightful restaurant! No Bones is a 100% vegan oasis in the old town of Kraków. You won't stumble across it by accident: you have to look for it, since it's on a side street off of one of the main streets. The restaurant is well marked with a really adorable logo of a garlic clove and carrots as a skull and crossbones, and you follow a little hallway (also well marked) down to the restaurant.
They were open on Christmas day, and we visited around 3 PM to get some food to tide us over until a big dinner that evening. They have an English menu, and the server was friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. They sell a variety of vegan snacks, sandwiches, and an amazing array of vegan pizzas. (We didn't try any, but I'll plan to for sure if I'm ever back in Kraków!) They're also eco-conscious; they don't use plastic or palm oil, and their take-out containers are biodegradeable.
Instead, we ordered vegan versions of classic food from their specials menu: a bowl of Ukrainian borscht, and a big portion of bigos (a tasty spiced stew made with sauerkraut that usually contains meat) with mashed potatoes. Both were delicious, and very filling. Prices are great!
