What a great hidden gem, loved this place. If you're looking for it, it is opposite the attendant-less Maxol garage, down the side of the used car place. The décor has all the hallmarks of a trendy contemporary coffee shop/deli, nothing too original, but to their credit they have distilled the design to the best elements of it and then executed the layout very well, so it's a nice place to be. The staff were great too which I love as there is little to endear a place to me more quickly than nice people working there who are nice, not through customer training but because they are just good folks!! The food when was great, a wide range of mouth-watering choices are clearly displayed across the huge menu..... which is the entire back wall of the place. It has been painted in blackboard paint and the menu chalked up in big clear writing. The prices although on the higher end of average aren't extortionate by any means so I wouldn't call it cheap eats but you get top quality food and service for just north of average price. The coffee was great, which is an essential element for me and the last thing I ate was a scone..... as we were there so early, it was freshly backed and still warm from the oven......................... so so good!

Today I had a veggy burger plus the optional fries. Burger appeared to contain curry spices but not overwhelmingly so. Altogether tasty and there was even some avocado in the bun. As an omnivore, I'm conscious, though, of the different levels of structural integrity between meat and veggy patties - the latter are probably best left bunless and eaten with cutlery. It saves burying my face in the plate. For a sweet, I had the custard tart. This had much more custard in it than some others that I've had but perhaps a little too sweet.

Belfast Baking Company is located on the main Gilnahirk road, near the Maxol station and beside Corries Farm Butchers. Parking is tight in the area but it's worth taking your time and popping by if you can. There's a few tables and chairs outside the branch to site and indulge in some treats and inside you'll find all the things you'd expect from the Northern Ireland Bakery of the year, 2016. The Cherryvalley branch is stylish, well stocked and the staff were very helpful. Samples were provided too of a few items and I'll be heading back soon for some of their pecan pies as a result. I opted for some veda, baps and a few patisserie items but to be honest I couldn't bought one of everything as the presentation was stunning! Items are well packaged for travel too - top points here! Said tables have super comfy armchair-style seats, which I could happily lounge in all day. Walls have plenty of socket points and USB ports for charging electricals. Plus colourful lights, bright decor, warm wooden floors and furniture give this cafe a welcoming, modern vibe. Clements offer table service which I love and staff are pleasant.
