Came to Santa Barbara for the first time and this was the first stop my friend and I made. Holyyyyy…read moreeverything was so good! Great way to kick off the trip. We ordered the nachos with pulled pork, Mac and cheese with brisket, and two burgers. We underestimated how much food was coming out . Not only was it huge portions, everything also tasted so good. The people taking our orders were also super sweet.

Funk in Public…read more Family-owned and operated local chain of restaurants and butcher shops that's been serving the Santa Barbara community for over fifty years (ca. 1973). This location is in Santa Barbara's "Funk Zone" district, which was formerly an industrial area that's turned into a wine and art district full of interesting places to gander. The Good: * Huge dog-friendly covered outdoor seating * Full lineup of their signature Shalhoob craft beers. They also have fermented grapes and liquor, if beer isn't your jam. * Service was friendly and welcoming. * Street Parking and City-owned lots, as well. The lots are your best bet, and they're free for a short while. * Prices are very reasonable for a BBQ place. * The Street Corn app might be the best thing we ate here as the corn was super fresh right off the cob, and the Chipotle aioli was superb. * BBQ Beans was more of a bean soup, but it was decent. * Mac & Cheese was also pretty good. Carrots enjoyed it more than I did, but I might've been grumpy from the shitty meats (more on that in a minute). The Meh: * Tritip was completely dry and tasted like it was cooked in the oven and then finished on the grill. But, I will say, at least it was edible unlike the ribs... The Ugly: * Maybe the worst ribs I've ever had. They were just completely hammered with salt and completely blew out my palate within two bites, which is a shame because they were tender and cooked well, but jfc, no amount of sauce or anything is going to save something this salty. Conclusion: Maybe we just caught them on a bad day because a place doesn't survive for over fifty years serving up meat like this. I'd be willing to give them another try someday, but I need my tongue to recover first.

Sophie and her team were on top of every detail, which made the process so much less stressful than I expected, and when the day came, we were able to fully enjoy it, which you can't really put a price on! The whole thing was beautiful and went seamlessly, even my family and wedding party agreed! Everything was so organized, and I appreciated their responsiveness and diligence throughout the process. I loved working with them so much, I recommended Sophie to my cousin who is getting married this year and am so exited to attend her wedding because I know it will also be Amazing! We ended up having rain the week of our wedding and ADE jumped into action to come up with a rain plan and work with our vendors to change design and rentals. If you are looking for a planner that is organized, a design genius, and well respected by vendors -- HIRE the ADE team!! You will not be disappointed and you will have a lot of fun planning your special day.

From contract signature to the wedding day, we were met every step of the way with the kindness and professionalism of Alejandra and her team. This dream of a venue provides high-quality catering, linens, tables, chairs, place settings, space to get ready, and so much more. We didn't have to bring in any rentals, which was a huge relief. With the Santa Barbara Club you receive the unique aesthetic balance of a classic country club and a beautiful English Garden all in one space. We had 130 guests roughly. I also want to take a moment to say that the food served at the venue is so good, that we received very very high praise from our guests (some saying it was the best meal they'd ever had at a wedding ever)! My husband and I are foodies and so quality of food was a top priority for us. We will always have a special place in our hearts for The Santa Barbara Club. They helped to create a dream wedding for us and we will always have such positive memories of the day.

Katie coordinated the food service and the workers, and everything went smoothly. The outdoor space was set up nicely with a small dance floor, a separate area for the band and DJ, a bar area, and enough room for the tables and seating. It was a nice intimate setting for celebrating with family and friends. Brett, who is one of the owners, was very nice, personable, and talented. He helped make everyone feel comfortable and welcomed. The biggest drawback is the parking. The venue is located in a residential area and does not have its own parking lot, so you have to search for street parking. Definitely pack your patience and wear comfortable shoes because you may have to walk a little distance. The weather was beautiful, which made the outdoor reception even more enjoyable. If you are looking for a small and intimate venue and do not mind dealing with street parking, this is a nice option. Overall, everything went very well, and we had a wonderful time.

The venue can expand and contract to fit your needs and we loved how they were able to create a space that felt cozy and intimate for our small guest count. Especially great when kids are apart of the mix, because there's an enclosed space for them to run around and play. Food from Satellite was top-notch too. Cheers Event Rentals was very responsive to my inquiry and their prices were very competitive. The shower was only going to have about 35 people so it was a pretty small party and yet Cheers was very accommodating to our needs. Talking to Jessica on the phone was reassuring that all of the items were going to be delivered without any problems. Cheers came up with a great idea of delivering everything to the park in their trailer on Saturday morning so we could unload and then leaving the trailer so that we could load the chairs, tables and linens back into the trailer for them to pick up later. Since our event was small, all the other vendors were going to delivery the items to my house on Friday and pick up on Monday. This really saved us the trouble and time to move everything to and from our house on the day of the shower. We met Jessica at the park in the morning and everything worked out great with the convenience of having their trailer right there when we were done. Working with Jessica and Cheers Events was a very good experience and I would suggest contacting them if you are in need to rent items for your event. Afternoon tea at San Ysidro Ranch felt like stepping into a fairytale…read more Getting there was a little confusing because it wasn't immediately clear where we were supposed to go. We were eventually directed to pull up to the complementary valet circle, as there weren't any other parking options. Fortunately, the property is so beautiful in every direction that I didn't even mind getting lost. We visited over Labor Day weekend and had a 3:00 p.m. reservation, with the last available seating at 3:30. Surprisingly, only three other tables were occupied. We originally chose to sit outside but moved indoors once it started drizzling, making us the only guests dining inside. Our window-side table gave us an enchanting view of hummingbirds and dragonflies appearing among the nearby branches. Afternoon tea is $120 per person for outside visitors. All dining is included for guests staying overnight at the ranch, which may explain why the tea service was so quiet. The Earl Grey and white jasmine teas were both good, but not exceptional. However, the majority of pastries were exceptional, which lent to justify the price. Unfortunately, with the door to the Stonehouse remaining open, two flies circled our table for nearly the entire service, which became a persistent irritation and noticeably diminished an otherwise peaceful experience. This prompted a less than 5 star rating. We almost finished everything, but each left with a full stomach and to-go box containing three or four pastries. My favorite part was walking around the grounds after tea. The landscaping is absolutely breathtaking, especially the rose garden. Everything had a secluded, romantic, magical quality. It wasn't crowded and was a perfect setting for photos, which ultimately helped make the price feel worthwhile. Would I pay $120 to repeat the experience? Probably not, especially with the annoying flies. But as a one-time experience with delicious pastries, a private dining experience with excellent service, and opportunity to explore one of the most gorgeous properties I've visited, I would recommend the visit.
