I had LASIK done here in October 2020. The following review will detail my experience here.
I've worn glasses followed by contacts since middle school and LASIK was always something I had in the back of my mind to eventually pursue sometime in adulthood. Began considering it more seriously once some friends and family had it done. Advertisements for LASIK are a dime a dozen, with numerous options out there. I narrowed it down to a few(including nJoy) based on the places said friends and family had it done at. Scheduled my free consultation with them first (which the majority of places will offer) with the plan to check out other places if needed based on how things went. Everything went smooth with the consultation, they were courteous and the visit went quickly and the good news was I was deemed to be a good candidate! At that point, I didn't have any reason to pursue other places so I went ahead and scheduled LASIK. Of note, if you wear contacts you should be out of them and use glasses instead for 14 days prior to your LASIK evaluation for optimal measurements of your cornea. If not, it's not the end of the world - you'll just have to come back for a second evaluation before your scheduled date once the 14 days are completed(as I did). Just something to consider if you're trying to plan out everything ahead of time.
They also offer periodic deals where you can get a few hundred off which I was able to take advantage of.
Onto the procedure itself. On the day of, I met the ophthalmologist doing my procedure(Dr. Britton) who went over the details of the procedure and what to expect. I didn't think too much of it at the time but in retrospect I'm glad that he did because there were a few parts of the procedure(not being able to see briefly, the uncomfortable sensations of having your eyelid propped open) that I would've probably freaked out about if I hadn't remembered that he mentioned it. The procedure otherwise was quick and over with in a matter of minutes and I left with my eye shield and eyedrops that they provided. It's been smooth sailing since then. I've completed all the post-op visits with the affable Dr. Cherian and now have 20/15 vision. I'm still in shock at times that I no longer have to worry about taking naps with my contacts in and that I can see clearly from the second I wake up. Overall, I had a very nJoyable experience here(come on, you knew it was coming!) and would highly recommend them. read more
