Awesome experience from start to finish! First, Tina did an excellent job testing my vision and…read morethen Dr Brooks listened carefully to my concerns about the the disparity of clarity between my right and left eye. He came up with a plan to allow me to test his recommendation for several days, using a minimalist approach to make sure that I'd only get what I really needed(and wanted). In my case, Monovision was highly recommended. Turns out, I was already seeing in Monovision, but without any clarity! On surgery day, Tina rechecked my vision and got me prepped for Dr Belardo, who also made sure I understood the procedure. All of this took longer than the actual surgery- in less than 10 minutes it was all done! I had the procedure done on Friday and was back to work on Monday, but could have easily worked Sunday. The Monovision has worked great for me. I regularly wear sunglasses at work and needed replacement lenses. After 2 follow up appointments, Tina made sure I had a good prescription and got the proper lenses to fit my particular needs. Thanks to the whole team for great service and an awesome overall experience.

Get a bill several months later for $100 because the Dr/staff coded the routine visit as dry eyes visit. After multiple phones calls to get the correct code on the chart. No solution. That's what the Dr said per the staff. So we are in the search for a new place to check on the eyes. No different than a routine Dr visit with primary care and they ask you about your heart you mention your heart races when you go upstairs -It doesn't become a specialized visit and coded as a heart cardiologist visit . I can't believe they get away with things like this. Hopefully nobody else gets robbed by this clinic. Sad that's how they do "business" Respectfully an angered decent insurance holder. My 86yo mother had cataract surgery 5 years ago. Ever since that time, she has experienced double…read morevision. This double vision has cause issues with walking, balance and ultimately, has cause several falls. Many eye doctors have attempted to correct this through prisms in her glasses Rx. She has dementia that has impacted her ability to verbalize improvements during an eye exam, ultimately leading to a failure in correction. As one could imagine, this makes it very challenging for a doctor to figure out the needed correction for double vision and the repeated attempts by the lab to grind the right Rx. Enter Dr. Sherri Eakins, with Hummel Eye Associates. Dr. Eakins took the extra time to figure out how to effectively communicate with my mother to get clear signals of "good" or "worse" during the eye exam. It probably took twice as long to complete the exam, but the payoff was a beautiful thing to behold. At the moment that Dr. Eakins figured out the correct prism combination, my mother sang out the word "STOP!". Dr Eakins had done what no other Dr was able to accomplish. My mother started crying tears of joy. I can't imagine a better example of why anyone should consider Hummel Eye Associates as their choice for eye care. Although I live out of state, I'm scheduling my next Eye appointment with Dr. Eakins. Lastly, the support staff and technicians were polite, professional and pleasant.

My optometrist, Dr. Bryce Mayes at Premier Eyecare in Edmond told me Dr. Chris was his referral for eye surgery. The office staff is amazing. Friendly, happy and caring, I always felt at home in the office. The support staff is so professional and Dr. Hummel has a wonderful bedside manner. He always made me feel comfortable and I trusted him all the way. I had some problems and he never missed a beat. He knew exactly what to do and how to continue until I had perfect vision. He is definitely a perfectionist and won't take less than perfection in his work. I am so glad I was referred to Hummel Eye Associates and Dr. Chris Hummel. Exceeded my expectations every step of the way!

Dr. Robert Cooper, OD has an interesting ability…read more He can make you feel like you're the most talented person to walk the face of the Earth even while you're doing the most trivial things. The manner in which he speaks to you while conducting his exams, he would have you believe that you are a work of art and he's there to be inspired by the beauty in your near-sighted eyes, as well as the brilliance of your inherent actions. He asked me to look to the right, and blink. I did. "That's just amazing!" He asked me to look to the left and down. I did. "Fantastic! You're doing wonderful." He's very thorough when it comes to the eye exams, I've stopped in 2-3 times just to ask questions and each time, he'd pull me into an exam room to check my eyes again. And he's kind of sing-songy in the way he talks during the exam. He's a fascinating man. At the end of it all, he'll thank you like you did him a favor by letting him look into the windows of your soul. If he has any children, I bet they have an insane amount of positive self-regard flying out of their orifices at any given moment. I would disagree somewhat with the statement from Sean G. "They make you feel like family from the moment you walk in the for [sic]." They are lovely people who will remember your name and treat you amazingly, but only after they get to know you. They may even come off as somewhat standoffish initially (I know it isn't intentional) but that's easily remedied if you're not an easily offendable jerk. I just mention this because when you walk in, they may very well look up at you real quick and say, "have a seat" without a smile. From what I can tell, it's because they're usually fairly busy and they're focused on whatever they happen to be doing at the time. But when that focus is turned on you, the focus is on you and only you. My favorite optician (and they're all nice in their own way so this isn't to suggest that the others aren't lovely) is Laquita. She walked me through every process. I was uncertain about whether I wanted to switch to contacts, but she helped me make an informed decision. When I had issues with a trial pair of contacts that was provided, she gave me a different brand to try without question. Granted, I've kind of interacted with them more than the average patient because I work close by and would run in almost every other day to hassle them about one thing or another. Expect to spend a fair amount of time when you stop in. Speed is not emphasized. One time, when I went to get my eyes dilated, I expected to be there for 20 minutes tops. It ended up taking an hour. Their frames selection is pretty good. Significantly better than other similar optometrists nearby, but obviously not as large of a selection that one would find at chains like LensCrafters. Regardless, I appreciate that they keep up with current fashion trends, and their prices are very reasonable (assuming your vision insurance isn't crap). I would highly recommend the singing optometrist. If you ever need an ego boost for breathing all while having your eyes dilated in a very professional and thorough manner, Dr. Cooper would be the one to see. Get it? See! Because he's an optometrist! Okay, I'll stop.

I had LASIK done here in October 2020. The following review will detail my experience here…read more I've worn glasses followed by contacts since middle school and LASIK was always something I had in the back of my mind to eventually pursue sometime in adulthood. Began considering it more seriously once some friends and family had it done. Advertisements for LASIK are a dime a dozen, with numerous options out there. I narrowed it down to a few(including nJoy) based on the places said friends and family had it done at. Scheduled my free consultation with them first (which the majority of places will offer) with the plan to check out other places if needed based on how things went. Everything went smooth with the consultation, they were courteous and the visit went quickly and the good news was I was deemed to be a good candidate! At that point, I didn't have any reason to pursue other places so I went ahead and scheduled LASIK. Of note, if you wear contacts you should be out of them and use glasses instead for 14 days prior to your LASIK evaluation for optimal measurements of your cornea. If not, it's not the end of the world - you'll just have to come back for a second evaluation before your scheduled date once the 14 days are completed(as I did). Just something to consider if you're trying to plan out everything ahead of time. They also offer periodic deals where you can get a few hundred off which I was able to take advantage of. Onto the procedure itself. On the day of, I met the ophthalmologist doing my procedure(Dr. Britton) who went over the details of the procedure and what to expect. I didn't think too much of it at the time but in retrospect I'm glad that he did because there were a few parts of the procedure(not being able to see briefly, the uncomfortable sensations of having your eyelid propped open) that I would've probably freaked out about if I hadn't remembered that he mentioned it. The procedure otherwise was quick and over with in a matter of minutes and I left with my eye shield and eyedrops that they provided. It's been smooth sailing since then. I've completed all the post-op visits with the affable Dr. Cherian and now have 20/15 vision. I'm still in shock at times that I no longer have to worry about taking naps with my contacts in and that I can see clearly from the second I wake up. Overall, I had a very nJoyable experience here(come on, you knew it was coming!) and would highly recommend them.
