Spa

One of my top favorite places to stay. Service is wonderful, staff so accommodating. We never want to leave the property, everything is there. The rooms are beautiful, butler (we were traveling with a dog and he made sure he was good too!) is so friendly and amazing, restaurants are delicious, pools + swim up bar, beach ... amazing spa. Dog friendly! Not so much at the restaurants and beach, but your friendly butler will check on your four legged friend for you while you are out :) Another great perk - it is less than a 10 min drive to the airport. Nizuc is an absolute MUST!

There is no doubt this hotel is beautiful. From the moment you enter it strikes as a very exclusive designer resort. Rooms are huge and very comfortable. Bedding and linens are one of bests I've ever had. Bathroom and shower just amazing. There are nice toiletries and unlimited supply of Fiji water. The hotel is pristinely clean and everything looks newly polished. Very impressive amenities. Unfortunately that is where my compliments end. We had a room on the bottom floor facing the jungle as it was the only one left with double beds. It was so dark in the room that we needed to have light on at all times. The jungle was a breeding ground for mosquitos. Which is to be expected in tropics so no complains there. Would definitely recommend ocean view. The service was extremely condescending. From the moment we checked in, always felt as though we were not good enough. Although the guys who drive the golf carts are extremely sweet. It's more of front desk staff that were rude. If you want to sit at the beach, good luck! People wake up at 6 in the morning to reserve an unlimited amount of beds. No matter how early we came, we could never get beds together, if at all. There is an adult beach, but it was equally as packed. The beach was also not what one would expect to find in Cancun. It's on the bay side and doesn't offer that gorgeous blue water you get on the rest of the strip. Food, where do I begin?! Overpriced yes, which would have been ok if it was actually good! Except it's not. $10 for a bottle of sparkling water at the beach. At breakfast, unless you opt for a buffet, expect to wait a ridiculous amount of time for food. Over one hour for toast! Another example is the dinner we had for NYE at La Romana restaurant. We paid $1850 for 7 adults and 1 kid for food which I can only describe as inedible at times. We informed our waiters and asked to speak to the chef, this was not granted. Only to be charged for the meal twice and having wasted an hour trying to reconcile with front desk. I will say that upon speaking to the food and service manager the next day, they did refund the food portion of our bill which was nice. Overall, I would absolutely not recommend Nizuc to anyone. It's just not worth it. And I really do hope the management reads some of the more realistic reviews and addresses the issues.

The spa speaks for itself and the location is right out of a destination wedding magazine! Nizuc spa will not disappoint anyone! Shout out to our Spa host Jennifer who walked us through the whole experience and was so attentive to our needs! The cold/hot therapeutic stages before our massages was exactly what we needed, after a first night of alcoholic debauchery the night before. Seriously, we rolled out the plane and into an epic, albeit, hazy night of partying! What happens in Cancun, stays in Cancun for sure!!! Jeanette was a wonderful massage therapist, and had the skills to put my body in a deep state of relaxation and my mind in a semi-coma! She customized the essential oils she used to my preference and was very attuned to what my body needed. Being a former massage therapist myself, this is what sets a true therapist from the rest, a true gift of healing hands and the connectedness of the senses with the client and the body.

When you think of Cancun, you probably think of Spring Break, foam parties, drunk idiots, Coco Bongo... yes I have experience from my younger days. Nizuc is the opposite of all of that in the best way. Luxurious, serene, high end, private, and the perfect get away. The pool is gorgeous - they bring fresh fruit, ice cream, and other goodies poolside all the time. Ordering lunch by the pool is a must. Rooms are big with gorgeous views. Sunsets are to die for. The breakfast is a WOW. Unreal - I judge a hotel by how good their breakfast is, and this one is one of the best. The spa - A MUST. Such an easy trip from NYC that it's worth a repeat. Gracias Nizuc!

Fantastic resort. Very pricey for MEXICO! Drinks weren't horribly priced, compared to the Ritz. The ceviche was fantastic! Octopus could have been cooked better but still tasty. Rooms are huge. Staff is absolutely fantastic!

Don't get a Mani pedi at the Nizuc Spa. The nail tech is not good, and the price is outrageous.

This place is really a joke. I think the resort is beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed staying here (still currently at the resort), however I scheduled a Mani pedi at the spa for the day of my arrival to get pampered before hitting the beach. The spa is horrible quality for an outrageous price. I definitely do not mind (and actually enjoy) paying a premium price for premium quality, but be assured you will not be getting a quality Mani pedi from this spa, but you will definitely pay at least $270 USD for your crappy nail job. At least you can enjoy champagne and chocolate while the severely untalented nail tech butchers your nails. (I will attach a photo of the end result, but also she cut my cuticles and I was actually bleeding during the session as well, obviously not in the photo)

Hotel staff surprised us!

Absolutely loved this place! Stayed here for a week and loved every minute of it. Pros: Service: they nailed it! Throughout the resort, everyone's really friendly and always greeting you. Food: Portions on the small side but delicious. All the restaurants are worth a try and the poolside/beach food were just as good (craving that ceviche as I type this). Drinks: Good selection (the tequila tasting in the cigar room is worth a try) Activities: Snorkeling, paddle boarding, jet ski and chilling Rooms: Excellent size with butler service. Room service was just as good as ordering from the restaurant. Cons: -Can't complain much. If I'm being picky, the cost of a bottle of water is a little extreme ($10 for 750mL)...but to be fair, they bring a bottle to your room every morning. -The beach gets some overgrowth but they clean it every morning.

Nizuc is Cancun's #1 resort hotel. Located near the airport at the south end of the beach about a mile away from the main hotel strip. You get sun all day because of where the hotel is located. It has a private white sand beach on a shallow bay that is perfect for snorkeling or SUP. Thank goodness it is not an all inclusive which makes Nizuc special. The service is 5-stars: hostesses, butler, bartenders, housekeeping, and management. All my expectations were met and often exceeded. Nizuc has a beautiful spa that offers massages and body treatments. Also, yoga classes are available and a gym is located at the spa. There are seven restaurants that offer different cuisines from Italian, Pan Asian, Mexican, Mediterranean, steak and seafood. During breakfast at Casa De La Playa you can order from the menu or indulge in it's extravagant buffet of world-wide cuisines. The food is incredibly delicious and made with quality ingredients. Nizuc is a quiet paradise for guests who are looking to relax and enjoy a premium beach resort. It is not for loud, uncouth people who are thrill seekers in need of entertainment and adventure.

First night of VACA at Nizuc!

And with billboards offering services directly to your room and a hospital system where you only go if you're sick. The "grey area" is a pretty loose term. The entire hotel is illuminated with L.E.D.'s. The space is immaculate. It was 1/4 mile from the room to the lobby. The ballrooms and convention spaces are like a stadium. (Indoors or outdoors). The public bus arrives every (2) minutes and are often full. It is approximately .50 US to go 30 miles downtown. Just looking at the creative ideas a child could write a book . "This ain't Tijuana". The malls and beaches are protected by federal soldiers and the streets have checkpoints every mile. They obtain your information and destination. If something is off a militia is on alert. In NOLA people go missing all the time. They get discovered weeks later. Would never happen in Mexico . A drunk guy might get out the box, but it is very controlled. These citizens are: smart, efficient, implemented, hard working, drive excellent, fast, diligent, and gracious. It's like walking through a museum. We visited there one evening and have the best time and service! This isn't the same restaurant where you go to breakfast but at night is a Spanish tapas restaurant. Everything was fantastic but all the food on the property is really great! We especially loved to order lunch by the pool. All the cocktails are fantastic, even poolside! Rooms are standard JW with some of them recently updated with the others on their way to being updated. Yes, there is a sort of a musty smell in the air, but that's in most hotels. It's a very hard to keep those highly humid rooms from smelling a little musty. You just have to get over it and enjoy the time outside the room. Pools are super cute and the beach area is nice. There is an adult pool that is open during the day but wish it was open later! Lots of places in walking distance if you decide to venture out of the property but why would you need to! Easy drive from the airport and to the downtown or for departure to Isla Mujeres. We did not go to the island this time but last time we booked everything through the hotel and they made it super easy.

Well, I couldn't breathe in the original room, so we were backed into a corner and had to pay extra for a different room. Nothing like penny pinching. Their check out was 10, so we all had to accommodate the earlier time in order to operate as a group. The hotel wasn't even busy! It is a far stretch calling this a resort and spa. I didn't see anything that fit in that category. The room we paid to upgrade to did have a great view. I would not recommend this place. We love the atmosphere there and always have a great time. The food presentation and quality has increased. There seems to be a lot of new staff working there including Captains at the buffet restaurants and Cafe. The cafe has added Bloody Mary's and Mimosas to their menu which is amazing, plus they have added a variety of fresh fruit on bar. I love fresh fruit so that made my day. The new Asian Restaurant was delicous. The opening of the Deli/Coffee shop was a great addition. We would go there every morning an sit at the Vista lounge where it is a quiet atmosphere with a beautiful view. The opening of the MVP/Speakeasy bar was great as well. The late night DJ and dancing was definitely a hit. Adding lounge chairs in the pool was a much needed. You get to cool off, get sun and relax. The addition of Yzrael, the Coach was the best idea. He is so personable and energetic with the activities that he does with us. He is a great motivator for those of us who would like to burn some of thee calories that we take in while on vacation. (water exercises, yoga, Pilates and gym time) The Color Parties were fun! Sulieca, pool activities person was the sweetest person ever. She always remembered our names, would interact with the guests even when she wasnt doing an activity with us. She always has a smile on her face. She was able to transform from activities to dancing at the color parties, special occasions like Deli party, and act in the videos that bring more people to the resort. What an asset she is to your Team. Mayra, our pool bar waitress was very attentive to the guests. She busted her butt daily making sure guests never went thirsty. She also remembered our names and what drink we wanted. Our last day, she was in the Deli/Coffee shop. Her talents and pesronality, in my opinion, would be better utilized if she is at the pool serving a lot of people where she can interact. We had several new Bartenders this trip. David was brand new and he was amazing. Alexander was at the Vista Bar the night we met him. He was very accommodating to us. He experimented with drinks that a guest requested. He even made us a Mexican coffee as he was closing the bar at 11pm. The Nightly entertainment in the theatre was magnificent. They are very talented group of people. The Gala was spectacular with amazing food. We would like to see the Asian restaurant open more days a week. We would like to have gone to it 2x during our stay but it was not open daily. We would like to see the coffee shop/Deli and Vista Lounge utilized a little more. Some guest didnt even know they existed. As for the Deli/coffee bar, it was open 6am-3am. Any way in the evenings, they can do the Flaming Coffee there. We go to GR Solaris at 5 to get the flaming coffee but would rather have it as a dessert/nightcap than something before dinner. The Vista Bar is ther as well as the speak easy. This would be a HIT!!! Also, there was lack of communication when activities were scheduled and canceled or not known about at all was a lil disappointing. We never knew when The Vista Lounge/bar was open. The app says one thing, the paperwork from check in said another. The App also said the was a activity at sunset on several days but it was not there when we went to it. After returning home, I saw a video of a party at sunset at the lounge. I hate that we missed that. It would be great if the Vista lounge bar area would become the Premier bar opened nightly until the MVP bar opens up. This will allow people to stay at the Caribe and not go to Royal. In turn, people may utilize the deli more. Dont feel like the administration is communicating well with line staff at times. POOL When we got to the pool, there were a lot of loungers w rolled up towels on them that had been "saved" for guests. Several days, those seats remained empty until after lunch or beyond. Can there be a policy in place to minimize the time allowed to save a seat? The Color Parties are a nice addition but the only complaint that heard was that the music was TOO LOUD! Some people that go to adults only want the Quieter atmosphere but also enjoyed the entertainment to break that up. The water level of the pool was great for water exercises for most of our trip. When water was added to pool, people of shorter stature were unable to be in the water. They had to exercise on the stairs which was not safe for them. I understood during our stay that the Solaris is under new management. It would benefit those of us who don't know the hotel industry, if there were pictures of people and their titles. The air purifier in the lobby is very overpowering. I would like to sit in lobby bar but i cant due to strong smell. Overall, Our stay was amazing. Making plans for another trip.

During that time, the resort does repairs and maintenance to prepare for the high season, so expect some construction and movement around the property. Despite that, Club Solaris Cancun was one of the top experiences of my life! It's a wonderful place to stay. What it may lack in "luxury," it more than makes up for in service -- truly the best service and the kindest people. Because of my friend's membership level, I stayed in the Club Solaris members area, but honestly, the great service is consistent throughout the resort. The staff remembers guests by name, and I saw many returning members warmly hugging the employees they've known from past visits. You can feel the genuine care and connection. The rooms are a great size, each with a coffee maker and refrigerator. I had a room to myself, and it was perfect. As a member, they personally walk you through daily activities, help make dinner reservations, and even arrange excursions for you. If you're not a member, the concierge and guest services office are always available to assist. A special mention goes to Omar in the members' office -- he's wonderful. Breakfast I started each morning with breakfast in the members' area, which offered a fantastic assortment of food. My personal favorites were the made-to-order omelets and the fresh, sushi-style salmon and ahi tuna. Coffee and mimosas flowed freely, and smoothies were available upon request. Special shoutouts at breakfast: * Tomas - Always served with a smile and even brought me bacon, though it wasn't out yet. * Julian - Warm, friendly, and always great conversation and service. * Roman - Makes a perfect omelet every time, smiling as he works his magic on the grill. (Tip: Ask for a smoothie -- they'll make it fresh for you!) Pool Time Spending time at the pool is a must! Lunch by the pool includes standard fare -- pizza, chicken nuggets, nachos, fries, hamburgers, poke bowls, California rolls, mac and cheese -- it's casual but satisfying. Drinks tip: Head to the adult pool for branded liquor. Otherwise, they typically use well or house brands unless you ask. Special thanks to Marrya, who worked tirelessly serving everyone around the pool by herself -- she's amazing! Throughout the day, there are plenty of fun activities like bingo, water Zumba, and flip-the-cup. Maxine, the pool host, keeps the energy up and everyone smiling. (Pro tip: Bring your own cup, thermos, or Stanley tumbler -- they'll fill it with ice and water for free.) There are three pools and three hot tubs, and the ocean views are incredible -- just steps away from the beach! Spa! Small but clean. Ask for Bonita. She was great. Dinner Dinner reservations are a must. The best restaurant, hands down, is Marco Polo. A big thank you to Alex, Ivan, and Ricky for their wonderful dinner service! Nightlife The resort offers nightly entertainment like singers and live shows. They're nice, but if you're looking for a livelier nightlife, you may want to head into town. There's also an MVP Sports Bar, which is a great spot to hang out -- it has a pool table, three TVs, music, and an air hockey table. A huge thanks to Javier for his excellent service and patience with our card games! Highly recommend the member experience!

The hotel itself, as all the other hotels on this strip, is hated with security personnel at the entrance. You can only get here by taxi, rental, or a personal vehicle. Ubers don't really work from the airport or most of Cancún. There's an Oxxo (think 7/11) nearby that you can buy water, snacks, and alcohol which stops being sold late afternoon on Sunday's! We had a blast. Drinks where good for us but not a giant variety as others might expect. Food was also good but nothing spectacular. My main complaint was the room itself. The beds were not very comfy and the hot water wasn't the best, but that's also an issue in most of Mexico. Again, you get what you pay for and based off the views alone I feel like it was a steal. If I wasn't a broke medical student I surely would have picked a fancier hotel.

I like the aromatherapy touch in the resort and in our rooms being able to choose which scent you wanted was very nice. I loved the separation of the toilet and shower by a wall and doors for privacy when using either. The water pressure and water temperature in the shower was great although there was some water draining from the shower during use. We would generally put a foot towel down to contain the water. The room was serviced twice daily so we were never without towels, etc. I also utilized the laundry service which was reasonably priced for three pieces of clothing and it was returned the next day. The staff was generally very courteous and helpful (we only had one less than courteous experience with a waiter at the Hidden Garden on our last evening). The food at the restaurants and by the beach and pool area was great - I cannot say enough about the fresh fruit and the grilled ribs and chicken so well seasoned and cooked with flavor. We ate daily in Siete for breakfast (the smoothie station you will need to go to first because it fills up because the smoothies are sooo good). We also dined at Hidden Garden where I enjoyed Indian cuisine which was delicious (but a small portion). All inclusive so it was nice not having to continually carry payment and only the gratuity needed for the staff. The last two mornings of our stay there appeared to be construction in the room next door or our floor which was disturbing - we did alert the front desk staff and it would generally stop around a certain time. Getting beds and chairs at the beach was generally easy but for the pool it was the hunger games usually having to place towels or bags on chairs early to 'reserve' them (there are no reservations for chairs only for the larger cabanas for an additional fee) We also experienced the spa which was amazing. Highly recommend visiting during your stay. The spa ritual is so relaxing and the couples massage in a combined room was great. Would definitely stay again. $$$

Prior to our arrival, we emailed the concierge for transportation to the hotel from Tulum. The…read moreemails were responded to in a timely manner and everything was as promised. Check in with Diego was a breeze. Although they did not offer us an upgrade, which could have been possible through our credit card partnership, he did let us pick a room from what was available. We picked 5044. The view was good, not a full ocean view but we did have a partial ocean view. The hotel and room were very clean. The staff was very attentive and anticipated our needs. I was very please with the hotel. It exceeded my expectations. If I ever return to Cancun, I would stay here again.

We recently stayed at Kempinski Hotel Cancun for six days. We have been coming to this property for…read moreyears, back when it was The Ritz-Carlton Cancun, and it has always held sentimental value for us. That history is the main reason we kept returning. Unfortunately, for the past two years, our experiences have declined significantly. The hotel no longer maintains the level of service and standards we once loved. The atmosphere feels different, the staff are not as welcoming, and there is a noticeable lack of attentiveness and care. During this stay, we had a particularly unpleasant two-day experience at the beach regarding the setup of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Rather than going into every detail, I will simply say the situation was handled poorly and left us very disappointed. What was most upsetting was that no meaningful effort was made to resolve the issue or make up for the inconvenience. Even after speaking with Guest Relations, who mentioned contacting the General Manager, nothing improved the following day. No accommodation or gesture was offered, which was surprising given the hotel's luxury positioning. It is also noticeable that the property feels quite empty during weekdays, except on special occasions or long weekends. Even then, the warmth and hospitality we once associated with this hotel seem to be missing. That said, I want to sincerely recognize Valenzo, who served us daily. He was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive. We never had to ask for anything, he would notice small details, like refilling ice before we even realized it was melting. His service was outstanding and he truly tried to make our stay better. Thank you, Valenzo. You made a difference. It is genuinely sad to see a place that once meant so much to us lose its standard. We hope management takes guest feedback seriously and invests in retraining staff to restore the level of service this property was once known for.

Rooms: Solid! Housekeeping does a good job and the temperature adjustment works pretty well. We…read morestayed here about a week ago and were satisfied with the cleanliness of the rooms overall. Food: Lowkey not amazing amazing, but if you're someone that doesn't like to drink a lot or care too much about how fine the protein is that you are putting in your mouth this place isn't that bad for the price. The sushi bar is pretty great (I stuffed myself with the Salmon and Tuna), and their virgin drinks are decent too,. My friends did take issue though with the fact that some of their drinks, especially when they melted, just became a watery syrup coagulation. The grill is decent, and if you can, definitely get a reservation at the restaurants offered by this resort that require them (both Veneto and the other restaurant or two are really solid). It's honestly just the buffet that's a bit of a let down but for the price, I feel like one cannot complain that much, especially because your stay covers you up until the next evening (even though you have to check out at 11pm) Location: On the more southern end of the hotel zone, so I think it could be better for someone to choose a more northern location if they are more interested in the clubs up north and also the ferries that go to Isla Mujeres. Service: Incredibly disappointing service at the front desk. We literally wanted to get our bags that were sitting out in the open and they took almost half an hour to get the bellman over to us even though we had been sitting there and followed up with the receptionist twice. Grateful that this hotel lets you leave your bags with them when you are going out after you've already checked out, but the service with regard to this was deplorable.

There were bed bugs in the room next to ours! We were continuously woken up by other loud guests at 2, 3 and 4 in the morning. Our 8 year old son got severe food poisoning from a burger that wasn't cooked properly at the Italian Restaurant Marco Polo and missed 2 days of the vacation. Got stuck multiple times on various elevators around the resort. They are broken and go slow or shake or the doors don't open. Hot water not working in our room. Fridge not working in our room. All the pool seats are taken by 7:30 am with people's beach towels leaving no chairs to sit or lounge by the pool and minimal shade. Nothing restocked in rooms, we had to request toilet paper at the front desk. Multiple drunken fights near the pool over the days we stayed there. When we asked at the front desk we were told "we are at 98% capacity, what do you expect us to do about this?" Only 3 pros--family friendly and close to the airport, the shows were good... does not make up for everything else. Would not recommend and would not come here again. This is not a 4 star resort, it is more like a 2 star.
