This all-inclusive adults-only resort is top-notch. We did book during hurricane season, so the cost was cheaper than average peak summer prices. However, despite the cloudiness here and there, we had sunny days! The light rain was during our sleep time and truly brought a great breeze to the evenings and mornings! The service, food, and activities were planned for relaxation, good health, and fun! The staff were very sweet and accommodating; all are Spanish and English speakers, so there is no language barrier. The staff learn your name, are always friendly, and continuously check on you for whatever your in need of. It doesn't matter if your lounging by the bar or jist passing them by along a walk way. The food was phenomenal. Apart from the average buffet, they had an assortment of restaurants and food that would meet anyone's needs. They are careful to ask about allergens at every host and server experience. The activities included exercises, fun, and entertainment ranging from fire shows and singing to dance performances. The rooms were beautiful and spacious! They have a collection of wildlife who live on property and leta just say adds a special charms as you walk along the way. Oh don't let me forget there is a continuous spa music playing throughout the resort too. You are meant to relax and they've figured out just how to do it. I am excited to rebook and return. My wife and I travel a lot, and I must say this place is definitely at the top of our list. She's a travel agent, and I travel around with her, trying the resorts so she can recommend them to her customers. From the time we got here, with the ease of the check-in, to the rooms, the food, the amenities, and just the overall service, this place is run like a well-oiled machine! This is an older resort that still has the older Mexican Hacienda feel, with all of the modern upgrades and additions. You can tell they've put a lot of work into keeping this resort as authentic as possible. There was clearly a lot of thought put into every change and upgrade that was made to this resort. Our room was a corner suite at the end of the resort overlooking the ocean, the Dunas Suites. We thoroughly enjoyed getting up every morning to watch the sunrise, drink our coffee, and start the day! We had our own private pool, which was great to come back to and just soak and talk at the end of each day. The room and accommodations were absolutely top-notch! The food was absolutely amazing! We typically don't do the buffet, but we tried it, and it was the nicest buffet we have ever been to. We tried a variety of the different restaurants, and they were all absolutely amazing! For anyone that is a foodie, this is probably the best food I've ever had at an all-inclusive resort. They have three pools here: the Silver, which is a smaller pool in more of a natural setting; the Golden Pool, which has a lazy river and goes from Building 6 to 8; and then the main pool, which is one of the largest pools we've ever seen at a resort. It's HUGE! What I liked about it is they had two different bars there, and they have rafts available, which is super convenient as we usually bring our own. And yes, they have a lot of high-end booze and make some really good drinks at the pool bars! Each night after dinner, we would end up at the Plaza España! On our way, we would stop and get a churro at the churro cart, which I highly recommend, and then we would finish with a few drinks from the La Plaza Bar and live entertainment, which was usually a DJ or a live band! The later it got, the livelier it became, as the dance floor was a pretty hot attraction! A must-stop is Café Sisal, which offers hot and cold coffee drinks, fruit drinks, a variety of different sandwiches and pastries, and of course, their ice cream! This is a big resort, and if you are staying toward the oceanside, I would strongly recommend utilizing the golf cart services. We would at certain times, but a lot of the time we found a shortcut by the big pool that cut the walk in half. They have so much to offer, with a variety of different daily activities. It had been many years since I'd stayed at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect at the Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya. I was very pleasantly surprised with everything! From the food to the staff, to the activities and variety of spaces, it was really a wonderful experience. I also LOVED all the wildlife we saw! Especially the coatis. Once you arrive, you are greeted with a welcome drink and they take your luggage to your room. Our rooms weren't quite ready but we were able to head to the buffet and get some food. We had the deluxe junior suite, which was the cheapest room option. It was very spacious, with two double beds, a small couch, table and chairs, and a large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and separate shower. We loved the location of the building as it was near the pools and all the restaurants. It's a bit further from the beach, but we didn't spend much time there. The resort features several restaurants: French, Italian/Mediterranean, sushi, Mexican, Thai/Asian, a buffet, and a surf & turf restaurant. There is also a coffee shop that's open late, and food trucks at the pool areas. The food was quite good, with lots of options and incredible care when it comes to food allergies. I loved the Petite Alsace experience (a private dining experience at the French restaurant), and at $59 per person extra it was totally worth it. The only food I didn't love was the room service - it was almost always cold. But the wings were tasty! The staff at this resort make it so fun - they were always smiling and friendly, and so entertaining. Sonia at the main pool bars was the best, mixing up all the best drinks! Speaking of drinks... they have everything you could possibly think of (except aperol). The specialty shots are very fun. The afternoon pool events were a blast - we watched the mechanical bull competition, participated in aqua yoga at the pool, learned about Mexican produce at the cooking class, and more. They have nightly entertainment like DJs and karaoke in the courtyard, as well as a show every night. We loved the magic show! We also did a yoga class and the bike tour - I highly recommend the bike tour on your first day as it helps get an overview of the layout of the resort. The Golden pool area is super quiet and calm vs. the main pool area. It was nice to switch it up mid-week with a more restful afternoon on the "lazy river." Tips: -Bring an insulated mug/cup for the pool (and a larger straw for frozen drinks) -A waterproof holder for your phone/tipping money at the swim up bar is nice to have -I went back and forth on bringing inflatable loungers... I didn't pack them but wish I had. You can find the resort's blue floating pads pretty easily but they are not very versatile (I prefer ones where you can sit more upright) -Bring a game/deck of cards to play while waiting for dinner. (There is a lot of entertainment too, but it was nice to have) -Large groups (more than 8) will likely have to split up for dinner at the restaurants I'm so glad I got to experience this resort. Beautiful stay at the Valentin Imperial this past weekend. Everything was amazing!! I can't think of anything bad really. The property is expansive and beautiful. So much wildlife, including birds and Coatis. Our room was perfectly clean and we were at the Golden pool swim up room! We opened the back doors and the pool was right there! We could even order drinks and food from the loungers on our patio! Service everywhere was awesome! All of the staff were so nice, friendly and welcoming. Any request was pretty much accommodated. Since this was an all inclusive property, you could walk up to anywhere and order drinks and food! There are so many options, restaurants and bars all over the property. Including a coffee shop! We had hibachi one night which was so fun. All the food we had was good, no complaints. For liquor drinks they do offer premium spirits as well which was nice. We caught a few hockey games in the sports bar which was fun. Cigars and karaoke another night. There was so much to do! This was an all around great experience. We utilized it to the fullest. Eating at multiple restaurants, bars, going to both pools and the beach, and having a massage. The beach was beautiful! They even have drink service out there and shade huts for free. They end the night with a DJ by the main area, so you can't hear it from your room if you're trying to sleep. They shut down the beach at night so that the turtles can come to shore and lay their eggs I would absolutely come back to this resort. I am currently on my second trip here. I cannot say enough nice things about this place. So reasonably priced, absolutely gorgeous, and the staff is the best I've ever experienced at a resort. Between the jungle and the beach and the pools ... and AYCE .... What more can you want?!? It's seriously breathtakingly beautiful especially at night or in the morning. So much wildlife. This resort is beautiful and the staff are all really friendly. The dinner food could be better. The food truck had the best food in all of the resort. Portion sizes are small and dining feels rushed. The people staying above us were so incredibly loud and interrupted our sleep every night multiple times. It was like sliding a chair across the floor for hours and then doing a line dance aggressively. We saw a lot of cute animals and big iguanas. They had shuttles to take people around but no one ever stopped to ask if we needed a ride. The beach was nice. The bar were ok, the drinks all tasted like a weird chemical so I didn't really drink. Although the grounds are stunning, I think they could put a little more effort into their food and restaurants. The buffet was not good, everything was overcooked and hard. The juices also tasted like chemicals. If you are a foodie, you probably will hate the food here. read more

Came here for vacation with some of our friends and family. When we arrived, we were greeted by hosts and hostesses who took us to the front desk. They were very polite and friendly. Checking in was easy and quick, and we were given our room, which was very spacious. It had Bluetooth surround sound in the ceiling and a nice deck where you could sit. The room was very clean, and the bathroom was spacious and also clean, with plenty of towels and condiments. The pools were really awesome. They were always clean, which was a lot better than when we stayed in the Dominican Republic, where the pools were constantly filthy. They had games every hour that you could play while at the pool area, whether it was volleyball tournaments, dancing, or water aerobics. They also had two pool bars and a food truck on site at the pool. Everyone that worked there, from management to the maids and housekeeping, was extraordinarily friendly, and the food at all the restaurants was amazing. They were all good, although we weren't able to get into the steakhouse because it has very limited seating and is extremely hard to get into, which was disappointing. The shops they had were really nice and had a lot of authentic Mexican souvenirs and items for purchase. They had live bands every night, and all the bars were fully stocked at all times. The resort itself was extremely clean. I never saw trash lying around or full trash cans like we did in the Dominican Republic. Overall, it was just a really great experience. When at the Valentine Imperial Riviera Maya, I absolutely recommend the Chef's Table experience at the resort. This one of a kind experience is a must do on your visit. Though it costs extra, it is well worth it. On our recent experience we went into the recently remodeled private dining room which can accommodate up to eight people. Chef Eduardo Sanchez was cooking a well choreographed meal for us assisted by Somal(I hope I got the name correct). This seven course adventure in culinary excellence was even more exquisite with the wine pairing. This was an experience in taste, smell, and sight. The experience started with hot out of the oven bread with fresh butter with fresh salt and pepper sprinkled on top. Warm and comforting it was a great comfort on the table to start. But before we even get to the fabulous food let me talk about the coordinating plating. With porcelain and glass plates from Pordamsa to enhance the plating, each course was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. First course was a "palate cleanser". carbonara foamed with thin slices of smoked trout delicately placed on top of the luscious mound. With nori seaweed, hazelnut, vanilla and coffee bits sprinkled over the top to enhance the flavor. As recommended, blending of all possible tastes gives the ultimate experience. The delicate smoked trout gave a most wonderful flavor. Second course served on a gorgeous blue plate representing the sea was the blue shrimp soup vide with a green tomato jelly with a touch of olives ginger and citrus and topped with a most perfect spoonful of lemon basil sorbet (slide off the spoon delicately by touching the underside of the spoon to melt it off by chef Eduardo). This plate was a great beginning to the experience with the freshness of the shrimp balancing all flavors together. Who would have thought the sorbet was the perfect balancing agent. And make sure you dig to get all the elements together. The third course was a wonderful surprise. Three way mock fennel and cauliflower risotto. Now, you may think risotto and think pasta, but none here. Thinly sliced fennel with a dusting of fennel and a foamed fennel and cauliflower complimented the delicate course. The flavors blended so perfectly and was a highlight course. The fourth course was a new experience. Foie gras with onion and mixed berry jam. complemented with a creamy basil and match tea and verbena oil sauce with a green leave shaped crunchy top made with the matcha tea and crunchy focaccia bread. I am so used to a pate or parfait foie gras that this was a pleasant surprise. The liver was in three small pieces and the accompanying flavors totally enhance the palate with delicate sweet and savory complimentary tastes. A unique combination that tasted great. The fifth course was a sour vide Toronto's served with a smooth and creamy parsnip purée and a wonderful truffled spinach that was so perfectly truffled it melted with all the elements of this course perfectly. Served with a Prosecco sauce over the fish. As recommended, all elements together brought a melange of flavors that tickled the tongue with delight. The sixth course was by far my favorite - duck matter served with a small serving of creamy truffle gnocchi and apple purée. A dusting of burnt leek added to the flavorings. The highlight to the flavor though was the port wine and foie gras sauce which took two days to make. I must say this is the best duck dish that I have ever tasted - Melt in your mouth duck with all the other flavors blend in your mouth dancing in culinary delight as each flavor floats over the tongue. A must try experience. The final course was a fantastic ending to the evening. A white chocolate covered citrus sorbet made to look like a lemon. Surrounded by crunchy chocolate and just a few peas and pea stalk. Savory sweet and utterly delicious. But then a treat. The chef made an extra treat. A wonderful chocolate truffle and a hand made marshmallow cube with light dusting of lime. Eaten in order it look your palette from a creamy lusciousness to a perfect light lift in flavor. An absolutely perfect end to the night. And I must recommend doing the wine pairing with the meal. Each of the courses were complement with white wine Prosecco or red with the duck. The red was Monsanto Toscana Rosso, a single varietal wine with a light delicate flavor that perfectly complimented the duck. All were excellent selections. read more

This was my 5th time at this amazing 5 star Adults Only resort located in the Riviera Maya..only 25 minutes from the Cancun Airport. As soon as you arrive,you are greeted by a friendly staff member with a warm towel and a delicious glass of champagne. Checkin is super easy and then you are taken to your room by golf cart. We were lucky to be upgraded to the Premium Level Oceanfront Suite. All rooms are suites and most haven't been renovated recently. Each room has a rain shower,seating area,stocked mini fridge and either a patio or balcony. Most buildings only have 3-4 floors. The resort is quite large and is designed to feel like a Mexican Hacienda nestled amid tropical gardens. You will see many different types of birds as well as flowers. Daytime offers 2 restaurants,a Buffett and a food truck. Nighttime offers 7 ala carte restaurants ( reservations not required) as well as 11 bars and 24 hr room service. Believe me you will not go hungry or thirsty! There are various daytime activities offered at the 2 pools as well as nighttime entertainment . The resort is situated on a half mile white sand beach with a few rocky areas. This resort pays attention to the small details which is why we keep going back. The resort medical staff was amazing!! Joselo was absolutely the best. He texted me while we were at the hospital and checked twice to be sure we got back to the hotel safely! He also helped us make arrangements to get back to the US early. Could not have survived without them!! Saul helped check us in and out early efficiently!! Great experience after a scary medical emergency!!!!! Most importantly - a trauma nurse from the US was there and accompanied us to the hospital. She saved us!! Summary: Robbed by housekeeping first night. Management did nothing to make it right, even tried to place blame on us. Bathtub flooded our bathroom. Service was poor, even rude/hostile. Most food and drink was bad to mediocre. We will not be back, will not recommend. **sorry for shorthand writing due to character count Arrived Friday, checkin showed a map of the resort, explained how restaurants/bars worked, rules for reserving space at pool/beach. No mention of security precautions. We didn't know we would get turndown service within hours of arrival. After dinner, we realized cash (in a band, not a tip) was stolen from the room. Additional cash was taken from a wallet. ~ $150 USD stolen. Called security, took them about 30 min, 3 people came, we explained the situation. Their response: - We recommend that guests use the safe (we didnt get information about security recommendations at any point). - Protocol for housekeeping is to take photos of cash left out, so because protocol was "followed," there was no theft. We filled out paperwork, asked for a copy, they could not provide a copy because it was for"internal use only. We took photos with our phones, they tried to stop us. Got managers' names but could take 24-72 hrs for investigation. ~2 hours of our time was wasted night 1. The $ was meant for tipping, the thief stole from their coworkers. We couldn't tip as much as we intended. We left DND light for the wkend, didnt use housekeeping at all. A friend also had cash stolen out of a bag. Same building+timeframe. The staff member ransacked guests things. Manager Joselo said we'd be updated. Couldnt find manager Sunday. Directed to 2 diff desks, no one showed up at either, so that was more time wasted. Someone who stayed a day longer from our group checked in Sunday pm. Joselo was dismissive, investigation was inconclusive. Travel agent was called, Joselo changed his tune. Only the cash taken out of the bag was reimbursed. They offered either 1 free night for our next stay or 1 free spa service. We will not book again, and we were already gone and couldn't use the spa service. Unacceptable. Saturday we tried out the room jacuzzi. It flooded the rm w/ approximately .5" water. Not overflow, a leak. We put towels down so we wouldnt slip. Mention @ checkout, they apologized but didnt seem to take down a note to fix. Sunday dinner with 9 people to celebrate a bday. Server was annoyed we ordered apps to share, said "this is a LOT of food". We were doing what we did at other meals. Portions are NOT big, we always ate most of it. The server was rude, meal was tense. He rushed us for entrees, at least 2 ppl didnt get to order and left hungry. All were unsatisfied by amount of food, so it was not a lot of food. Service was openly hostile. Very uncomfortable, huge disappointment. Positives - the pool is lovely, not crowded, able to find seats every day, even in the pm. Entertainment was great and bartenders were efficient and friendly. - Only good meal was Taman Sari. We liked the duck, ribs, tandori chicken. The service was the best there as well. My expectations weren't high for the quality of food and drink at an all-inclusive resort, but I was consistently underwhelmed. Across the board, the food was extremely salty but still lacking flavor. Taman Sari was the only experience that exceeded expectations. - Drinks at Don Miguel were great. Most of the drinks elsewhere, especially at the pool, were extremely light pours (this we can understand for safety reasons). But Don Miguel had genuinely delicious and reasonably strong drinks. I especially liked the Hibiscus Martini and the Margarita Pique. - I like that they use glass bottles for water in the rooms to minimize waste. Unfortunately, these positives were not enough to outweigh the multiple negative experiences we had throughout our stay. It was highly disappointing. We will not be back. All of the staff is amazing, love the "GO" team, Lorenzo is absolutely amazing with everything he does and has become a very good friend of ours. Daniel did a wonderful job at the Pico de Gallo class by the pool and the rest of the "GO" team were just so friendly and made each day so much fun!!!! Always very friendly and courteous!!! We love all of the food we enjoyed there! Love the Italian, Asian, beachfront restaurant, etc etc! We also enjoy the burgers and nachose from the food truck by the pool! Wow! This place is incredible! I've been to many resorts in Mexico, but this one is the best I have experienced. The food, the vibe, not over crowded, relaxing but wild if you wanted it to be. The pool has floats available to enjoy and they always had something going on. Fire show and Michael Jackson show were big highlights for us! I went with my Mom on a Mother Daughter trip and it was a blast. We took the shuttle from the hotel for $18 to shop in Playa and it was so worth it. Highly recommend doing that if you are looking for gifts for you or others. Overall, I will be back! Had a wonderful time. read more

This resort is beyond anything we imagined. The physical resort, the Mexican people and their kindness, service, sincerity to help you have a beautiful stay, the food!, entertainment (if you want it), all of it! We cannot find one thing to suggest for improvement or change, or to add. We are in our upper 50s and needed to get away and reset. It is a large property but it feels intimate. Plenty of activities and fun if you prefer. We chose the calm restful route. Room amazing, views amazing, plenty of everything. We notice daily news here lists many returning couples which is indicative of customers loving it here. we did prive which we recommend for dinner, beach and pool reservations, plenty of alcohol also provided but we found reservations the most appreciated. The Chefs Table is a lifetime experience! And a local told us to do the hacienda for dinner. So happy we listened as it was a memorable night for life. Just came back from our honeymoon at Valentin earlier this week! We were there for seven nights. Fun fact: There is a FB Group dedicated to people who love this resort that has over 40,000 members, and now I can see why! We stayed in a Silver Superior Room which was very nice. The open concept bathroom is.... interesting. I would say that you need to stay in this room only if you are very comfortable with someone! Lol. Basically, the tub is in the middle of the room with only a sheer curtain that looks into the bathroom. The shower/toilet have frosted glass doors. The resort is absolutely beautiful! There is a big main pool with two swim-up bars and a quieter pool (called the Golden pool) that has less people, typically. We stayed by the pools most of the week because the beach had sooo much seaweed (not the resorts fault though, just Mother Nature!). Food and drink wise-- Omg... my husband had to roll me onto the plane. They have ~7 different restaurants and all the food was very good! Service was also impeccable between the front desk, wait staff, concierge, and bartenders. I have nothing but good things to say! read more

Cons: Went in early June for 1 week- it was humid, rained almost every evening and so every night the mosquitoes were awful!!!!! I swear they love bug spray. Room- on the 1st floor, building 5. It was pretty & clean but smelled strongly of mildew & could use a little updating. The bathroom was clean but the shower head needed a good cleaning or to be replaced. Wished they swept the room once in a while as I was staying there without me having to ask them to. Pool/beach- Not enough shaded chairs and most of them had animal poop on them so you had to remove the cushion or waste a towel covering it. ***None of these things were a dealbreaker. Pros: Beach is beautiful! They work had to keep it clean. Service is a bit slow but order 2 drinks and pour 1 in a tumbler, problem solved. Vendors aren't in your face, they take no for an answer. Main Pool: Service and entertainment are fantastic. Food trucks aren't too bad for a snack/light lunch. Golden pool: Service is slow but the drinks are strong & food good. Restaurants: Fantastic and if you don't like a dish then order something else, they don't care (remember to tip your servers!) Buffets had a good selection and surprisingly so did the evening restaurants. Cafe: The morning guy was on point! The night guy, horrible. Never got a good drink from him. * I would totally go back. Excellent pool and beach accommodations, fantastic food at each of the theme restaurants we went to (we tried all of them), outstanding service from the staff. Our golden junior suite was excellent, with a very quick fix to a leak after an absolute deluge of a rainstorm. The quality of the food really stands out for an all-inclusive resort. The teppanyaki experience at Ginger was particularly memorable, and Chef Oscar did a great job and was very considerate of the vegetarian members of our party. Nice variety, a good mix of relaxation and entertainment, and outstanding food that we now have to go on a major diet for. One tip--some of the beach is pretty rocky, so bring boat shoes and be careful of larger rocks near shore if you want to swim there. The multiple pools are really sizeable though. First and foremost, the hotel's greatest asset is the employees. Everyone we encountered was friendly and very personable and provided exceptional service. In advance of stay, I reached out to the concierge via email to make some requests for the occasion. All requests were responded to promptly. We booked direct through the property and as a result eligible for private transportation from and to the airport. We had made a request for a specific tower, room, but could not be guaranteed prior to arrival. If booking an Imperial Suite, they are all located on the 3rd floor. Imperial also includes the Privilege Package, more on that later. The property is huge and takes some time to get your bearings. The grounds are meticulously maintained. Everything is touchless, meaning one must go on-line to access the app, menu's, maps, activities etc. While this is good in theory, the internet/Wi-Fi was not the greatest, and several times we could not pull up menus. Despite going with this model of touchless contact/using your phone, they still provide a wine menu, so a little contradictory. Suite: We were very happy that we chose building 4. The location couldn't have been better. There is only 1 Imperial Suite in the tower on the 3rd floor. It was in close proximity to the main lobby, restaurants and bars, close to the pools. The suite was very big. When you entered there was a large entry way with windows that looked out to the sprawling deck. While the furniture was a little dated and starting to show some wear and tear, we were more than happy with the room, the space and privacy it afforded us. The mini fridge is replenished daily, and you could also make requests of what you wanted stocked. With the Privilege package, you also pre-select 4 bottles of premium alcohol for your room. Beach: We love the ocean and the beach. The privilege package allows you to have a reserved Bali bed on the beach (basically a covered day bed/lounger), that includes 2 sun loungers each day. They were spaced out and provided privacy. You don't have to bring your towels to the beach each day. When you arrive, your bed will be set up. There is a beach bar and staff walk the beach to take your drink orders. The beach directly in front of the beds is very rocky and not swimmable. If you walk a little further down, you can swim, but it is still rocky. Some light beach shoes make it easy to get through the rocky edge area. Entertainment: Nightly entertainment was excellent. Everyone had a good time dancing to the Imperial band and DJ. There's all day entertainment and activities managed by the Go Team including pool cycling, pool aerobics, mechanical bull riding, dance competitions, etc. The daily activities are shown on the TV in your room or on the app. Food: The food didn't quite meet our expectations. Service staff appeared to be spread thin throughout. We experienced several issues with meat, not cooked as requested. We had 6 steaks between the 2 of us at L'Alsace that were served raw and cold in the center. While there were some disappointments, there were a few highlights worth noting: Fish Tempura @ Ginger - Amazing; Grilled Chicken, shellfish soup, and breakfast (huevos rancheros) at Mar y Tierra; Shrimp burger and ceviche @ Golden pool. BBQ at main pool- Burgers, tacos. Don't forget about your complimentary daily lobster if you're Privilege. It's easy to forget. Bars: There are no shortage of bars throughout. Favorite bar - Martini Bar in the main lobby. Quite relaxing place to unwind. The best Negroni by far. We would start here every night before dinner, and usually end here too. Since it's located directly beside the Privilege lounge, you can ask for top shelf and they would make it for you. Spa: We had mani/pedis, both enjoyed the services and thought the price point was very reasonable. Very clean facility and excellent friendly staff. Romance Package: Private 7 course dinner to include bottle of red or white wine. We brought our own champagne, no cork fee. Table set with rose peddles. For an extra charge, we had a birthday cake custom made. Very enjoyable and memorable. When we returned to our room, rose peddles lined the entry way to the bedroom, bed covered in rose peddles, hot tub filled with hot water with a heart of rose peddles floating on top, bottle of sparkling wine. What a way to celebrate! Room Service: Very impressed that you could also order 24 hours a day, with a variety of offerings to choose from. We ordered breakfast the night prior and it was delivered hot and fresh at the promptly requested time. We also ordered lunch and light snacks. Our personal favorite was the shellfish soup. The ABSOLUTE best all-inclusive resort you could choose. The staff, restaurants, rooms, activities, food, everything you can think of, it's phenomenal and once you stay here, you're addicted! Check-in - You're greeted as soon as your transportation arrives at the front of the building. Bags are handled, you are served champagne and some small bites to eat, and your journey begins. You may have to wait a little while for you room, so grab what you need out of your bag to go by the pool, to a restaurant, whatever! The lobby scent hits you so hard with an amazing smell, that I think they do it on purpose to reset your body to relax on your vacation. Oscar almost made us think twice about when we'd come next, saying "see you in two weeks!" when we were leaving. If only we could be there that often! Rooms - STUNNING. No matter what level you stay in, they're all amazing and do not compare to your standard hotel. The bathroom alone, is totally worth staying here. Many rooms have their own specific flair, whether it's an overhead showerhead, large jacuzzi tub, a balcony, a huge bed with comfy sheets and pillows, and a mini living room, you'll be beyond satisfied. Don't bring shampoo and shower gel, their amazing scented shower items are really great. I wish I could take 100 of them home (they're also sold in the store at the resort, along with the lobby scent). Restaurants/Bars - Each one (French, Italian, Steakhouse, Asian, Hibachi, Mexican, Breakfast[buffet and sit down] Martini Bar, Sports Bar, Coffee Shop, Romantic Diner on Beach), make you never want to leave. The meals are very flavorful and cooked to whatever your liking may be. DRESS ACCORDINGLY per the dress codes of the website and arrive earlier in the evening and you'll be fine. Throughout our two stays, we've NEVER had any issues at all. Special shout-outs to Alejandro & Ricardo that work the Romantic Dinner experience out on the beach. Incredibly professional and timely with all the different courses throughout the exclusively private dinner. Carlos & Oscar at Mari Tierra for seeing us come in every morning and already bringing our drinks before we ordered because they just knew what we would order again! Even our meals were "predicted" due to how often we came there. Elsi at the Asian restaurant, with her cute way of explaining the "dessert book" that comes with mini little desserts. Jose & Luis at the French restaurant, sarcastically giving us a small amount of food on our plate then quickly turning around to give us our full plate! Ate here multiple times and it was funny every time. And their Flambe dessert presentation where Jose effortlessly poured the flaming liquor. Finally, our best friend Rogelio at the main pool bar. Getting to know him very well, his life story, many laughs along the way, great service every single day. "Don't worry be happy", was the words of advice from Rogelio! Go Entertainment Team (activity coordinators) - Every single event they put on, whether it was an evening show, mechanical bull riding, dance, cooking or Spanish lessons, or tequila tasting, they were all so friendly and really enjoyed their job. You could absolutely tell. Lorenzo and his crew do a phenomenal job every singe day. Each day has a lot of different activities in different parts of the resort to do. Yet another reason to not want to leave this place! The wonderful and amazing Dora, walks around and makes sure that everyone is having the best time possible and how VIM can improve. After our second visit here, it's hard to think of anything to improve because this paradise is absolutely perfect. Massage Place & Gym - Aromance Spa is an amazing experience. Starting with the sauna & steam room, a long massage (depending on the package you pick), and a nice pedicure at the end. The gym is pretty small, nothing crazy, but nice to get a quick jog or small work out in to work off all of that food and drink from the previous day Bottom line: THE BEST resort you could pick (honeymoon, anniversary, vacation, whatever!). We heard it from many people and all of the experiences above, painted the picture for us as to what VIM offers every single day. There's no lapse of quality or service, ever. Follow dinner dress codes, bring cash for tips, be respectful, come hungry and thirsty, bring lots of sunscreen, and be ready to have fun all day and all night and you will love VIM like my wife and I do. This past summer my wife and I checked out the Valentin Imperial for our get away vacation. Having not reading any reviews and just wanted to something new we arrived at this beautiful resort with the grand lobby being breathtaking and just plain stunning. As normal we were greeted with champagne and the staff was very courteous and extremely nice and they drove us to our room and the building has it's own concierge which was awesome because they could call and make reservations on your behalf at any of the restaurants on the property. Entering the room was so neat because everything inside was automated even the sign to let room attendants know not to clean the room was also electronic. ALL of the restaurants were was great but our favorite was Ginger, a Japanese restaurant with great sushi as we made two trips here. The pool was huge with several waterfalls and I spent most of my time at the pool bar LOL! This experience was great by far and we already said that this resort was the best we ever stayed in. read more

High quality adult only all inclusive resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. This resort is a large, safe and well maintained resort. This is my 10th time here and we absolutely love Valentin. There are seven restaurants; our favorites are the Steakhouse, Mexican and Hibachi. Some restaurants do have a dress code so be aware of that. Staff is very friendly, helpful and attentive. The beach is well maintained and clean. We absolutely love the cigar bar and the coffee shop. The entertainment at night is always good. We love the live acoustic guy that plays. Literally just walked in and cannot wait to go back again next year. Resort is filled with a lot of repeat guests so you see a lot of familiar faces. The resort is immaculate, the food is good and there's plenty of activities for everybody. The staff are super friendly, quick to help with anything and add to the experience. Quick shout out to Oscar (Sports Book), Ariel (pool bar) and Rodolfo (Don Miguel). But the real and biggest shout out goes to Manuel (Primo!). We met him last year early in our trip and continued talking through the week. He not only remembered us, but treated us like family. We tried to say good bye today before we left but unfortunately he was on lunch. We asked another server to relay the message that his primos stopped over to say good bye. Not only did she relay the message, but as we turned to go into the shuttle to leave we hear "Primo". Turned around and see Manny going out of his way to see us off. We just returned from our 2nd trip here and we are planning our next trip here for October ! Our flights were flawless on Southwest Airlines. When we landed in Cancun we needed to get our luggage and proceed outside to locate our Amstar Transportation, these are the folks with blue, flowered shirts. They are very easy to locate and we have them our names and document, they loaded our luggage and got in the van. Very nice driver and funny ! Both our trips to and from the airport were perfect ! Highly recommend Amstar ! We arrived at VIM and were cheerfully greeted by the luggage porter, Welcome Home ! He gave us our luggage claim tickets and escorted us to the main reception area to get checked in. The entrance to VIM is beautiful and the resort sits far back from the main road and is amazingly landscaped ... primly the best we seen here ! Security at the gate is on the money ! The staff quickly offered us drinks and finger foods and we waited about 5 minutes and we got checked in .... the reception area smells so good !!!!! Not sure of the scent they use but it's incredible ...... This is a great time to snap a few pics of the organ pipes ! And of this grand area ! We got our room assignment and got shuttled over with our luggage, we were in Building 1 which is a great location to the pool and restaurants and main building. We been getting the King Silver Junior Suite and love the amenities it offers, it was well appointed and every morning it was cleaned and stocked and our nightly turn down service was perfect ! If we wanted extra bottles of water or extra soda we just left a note and they left us what we requested. Not sure if this being our 2nd time here, we were left a few very nice surprises of a bottle of champagne and plates of varied chocolate. Very nice indeed to not be expecting that ..... The cleaning staff was exceptional and excellent ! Every morning we called in for room service, pot of coffee, juice, basket of fresh pastries .... need that morning coffee while sitting out on the balcony watching the birds .... This trip we did not get any regular food delivered but last time we did and it was awesome ! Room service was perfect ! The staff that brings the coffee and food are so very kind and friendly ... So much to write but we will keep it short !! The buildings and grounds are kept pristine, great job to the grounds crew ! They have many different restaurants with such a vast array of food options. We try different ones and love the breakfast and lunch buffets. So much to select from and those areas are so very clean and the staff are very attentive to your needs and desires ! Remember gentleman, bring collared shirts to wear at dinner .... We love all the places here for dining ! Again, the staff is very professional and attentive ! We experienced 1 minor hiccup in service at The Steak/Seafood Restaurant next to the beach. Seemed the staff was a little short handed but it did not impair our dining ... They still did great ! The pool area is such a blast !! The swim up bars are perfect and the staff are very quick on getting you drinks ..... TIP: Bring your own Yeti and they will pour you tall killer drinks and since these are insulated, it will stay cold for longer. Everyday they have tons of activities and the red shirt pool staff are awesome and entertaining! Absolutely Love the Pool Area !!! So much fun !!! Also the servers walking around getting you drinks are fast and friendly and attentive.... My wife won one of the bingo games and I took 1st place in the rifle shooting tournament and we both got cool gifts We just enjoy floating around and talking to people with drinks in hand .... They do have food at poolside for lunch and the lunch buffet is within 2 minutes of the pool area. Highly recommend that for lunch to get out of the sun ! We met some nice folks from Nebraska and Pittsburgh, I always wear my Steeler Hat and you find fans all over the place which is cool ! TIP: Take your pool towels and a book or magazine down to the pool area and find your perfect spot .. Nobody will mess with anything but the lounge areas fill fast ! Every night they have different entertainment and a whole array of different types of bars to get drinks from and you can get whatever you want. This trip we seen the burlesque show which was very cool and various entertainment in the center area. In closing we cannot speak highly enough of the staff, the grounds and everything we experienced on our 2nd vacation here, everyone was extremely professional, friendly, and very accommodating to any of our needs ! They truly treat you like family !! We highly recommend this resort I doubt you're gonna find a better place in the area to enjoy and we look forward to many many more great and fun vacations there.. I will let you off the hook and tell you now, this resort is worth double what I paid for it. I wrote an extensive review, but due to Yelp's limits, I cannot share it here. From the moment you arrive at the entrance to the Valentin Imperial Rivera Maya, it is sensory overload. Spanning at least half a mile, the road into the resort takes you through three traffic circles. Each of which are adorned with coconut trees and various indigenous shrubs as a center piece. The road is walled in a thick layer on jungle. At a beautiful hotel entrance, our vehicle doors were opened by the staff who passed us ice cold hand towels as the Caribbean heat of the early evening attempted to punish us. The smell of the lobby is indescribable by this reviewer. I distinctly caught lemon and rosemary; my wife, something different all together. We immediately knew we were in for something we had never experienced. A Cathedral ceiling revealed more chandeliers and a host of organ pipes along the wall above the check-in desks. No counters. No lines. In fact, due to its size and design, it was nearly silent even with a dozen people within 50 feet of us. We were escorted to a small table with opulent chairs. We spent our first evening in the pool. While enjoying the temperate water of the pool, the service staff was on a never-ending stroll from the bar to the guests. We decided to stick with piña coladas the rest of the night. We contemplated what the week might bring while we sipped - um, chugged bottomless piña coladas. This trip was a celebration of 20 years of marriage for me and my wife. In those two decades, we had not taken this type of a trip and, as we floated in the pool, we quickly realized this would be the first of annual trips of the same caliber from here on out. Last day: My wife and I sauntered up to the lobby to hangout after our last breakfast. We sat in the expensive furniture and talked about the week's highlights. The sun was still low on the horizon, so its beams washed the entire room in a beautiful glow. We had no particular reason for sitting in the lobby, though we both admitted we wanted to sit in the unforgettable aroma of the building for as long as we could before we went back to our daily lives; and so, we sat. To the staff of the Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Thank you for your hospitality and beauty, your attention to detail will forever be the finishing touch on the perfect celebration of the first 20 years of our love story. Pros: 1)For the suites in buildings 6, 7, and 8, the reflective windows block any wandering eyes from seeing in, day or night, so feel free to be you while in your room. I tested this under every possible condition and found our room to be completely private, even with all the lights on. 2)All staff are bilingual, and they are happy to help you with your Spanish along the way, if you're so inclined. 3)The resort is extremely secluded. 4)You can charge anything you purchase to your room. 5)Couples massage was EXCELLENT. It's a little pricey, but so well worth it! We've been 3 times since covid began and I cannot imagine what this place is like when in full swing! Most of the guests are multiple repeat guests, and da' Juicys KNOW WHY! The food is great, the location and property is fantastic, but it's the people who make it GRAND! I love the swim-up suite, yes they have bars like that too, but my room walk into the pool and lazy river. They are truly ALL INCLUSIVE. They are extremely generous with any food or drink you desire. We just returned from our honeymoon here. I must say that that staff/bartenders and food were truly exceptional. We love the Secrets chain but as our trip went on I felt like I was falling in love with Valentin. I think the food quality at Le Marche (buffet) and the italian restaurant were truly extraordinary. A massive pool for partying/watch senior citizens Zumba to Cardi B and a quiet long lazy pool for relaxing/reading a book/listening to Fever Ray Valentin has both settings covered. At first I was annoyed that the gym was closed due to Covid but I ended up just doing hella pull ups every under the bridges to offset all these bomb meals. Our usual meal schedule was a room service breakfast (takes about an hour) the taco truck and then a nice dinner during the evening. Again the Italian was pretty perfect. We spent about two and 1/2 days at the resort with one half day touring a cenote south of us. Highly recommend checking that out. Our concierge was brilliant striking up our covid test the day before we left. Fast friendlyand got the results very quickly. I was sad to leave but happy to experience this place. I can see why so many return here so often, it's truly relaxing and beautiful. The average age is 40-55 in case you were wondering, a bit older than what we usually experience but we had a blast with everyone. A couple tips, make sure you ask for caffeine in your nespresso cups and as well as your room service coffee, we had some sluggish mornings due this is mix up. Oh yea, the seafood restaurant was our first lunch here and really nice. Make sure you visit them for ceviche, salad and aguachile. Good stuff. One frustrating thing. It's close to impossible to reserve teppanyaki dinners here. They fill up in 5 minutes. That was massive disappointment. If you are paying extra for "privilege" you can book in advance. Well, onto the next resort next year but this one will definitely be recommended to friends and family. Enjoy your stay and love to the staff for busting their tail to accommodate all the guests. read more
