Came up from Virginia my daughters wedding. Phoned ahead and was told by Nizar that he would be there. Got to the store at 1 pm and the doors were locked and store was dark. We went and had lunch and killed the better part of an hour and store was still closed. Luckily we were able to get a tux from Robert's on Route 46 west in Totowa. I bought a suit and needed it tailored for a wedding I was going to. I dropped it off about 2 weeks before and was told "no problem", it would be ready 2 days before (Thursday for a Saturday wedding). Thursday I go to the store during business hours and no one is there. I call and call, but no answer. It's just rings. No hours posed on the door. Friday comes and I call after 11 when the store is supposed to be open. Again, rings and rings, but no answer. I go to the store and it's locked and everything is dark. Finally. He answers around 3:00. I tell him I need to pick up my suit...sorry; it not ready. I need another hour. Seriously? Finally got it. My wife and I had a very bad experience with this shop while getting her bridesmaid dress hemmed here. The dress was supposed to be finished on a Saturday and my wife went to pick it up on the following Monday (during normal business hours) and she found the shop to be closed with no one in it. Eventually the owner came to open the door, but it turns out the dress had not even been hemmed yet. He offered to finish it for her while she waited, but she didn't have time so she said that I would pick it up the next day. I called the shop that same Monday evening to say I would be by at 11AM (when the shop is supposed to open) the next day to pick up the dress and the owner asked if 11:30 was OK which was fine. I got to the shop at 11:22 (22 minutes after their own stated business hours start) and no one was there with the door locked. By 11:30 the owner did show up and the dress was done, but he made all sorts of excuses about why he wasn't there at 11 and why the dress wasn't done when it should have been. I get that things fall through the cracks with the dress not being ready, but the combination of him twice not being in the shop when it's stated that it should be open, his reluctance to apologize, and no offer for a discount or some sort of resolution for the inconvenience left us with a very bad experience. read more

I cannot say enough about the customer service of this business. I needed a zipper fixed for a dress I needed for a wedding in two days! The owner took it and fixed it in minutes while still helping other customers. Such a kind person. Also while standing around, I was amazed at the size of the store and selection here! read more

Nizar was incredibly helpful and accommodated a last-minute alteration of a gown for me. Not only did he do an excellent job, he was able to do it quickly. He went out of his way to be available and my gown was ready when he said it would be. Really nice guy, too. DO NOT GO TO NIZAR! This is the worst experience that I have ever had with a local business. When people rent something like a Tuxedo they are planning on going to a formal occasion like a wedding or prom. The last thing anybody wants to deal with is malfunctions with their wardrobe. I was the best man in my friend's wedding recently and using Nizar was a big mistake. Both the father of the bride and father of the groom had problems with their tuxedo rentals. When they went to pick up their Tuxes, neither of their orders fit. So instead of giving their full attention to the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner the next day they had to come back and pick-up their altered tuxedos. As for me, my tux seemed to fit fine. When I got home however, problems became evident. The back of the vest was completely wrinkled even though the shop owner said he was going to steam it and there were pit stains under the arms as if the shirt had not been washed. Then when I tried to put on the pants the rubber from the track came out and the pants would not tighten. The others groomsmen had to rig them up with safety pins. It was so aggravating to deal with when at that point I was supposed to be attending to the needs of the groom. One last thing, if things were not bad enough, the top button popped off my jacket before the ceremony started. All that said and done, this was the worst part. When I went to return the tux I clearly complained and wanted a refund for my money. The owner told me no and that he would give me a $50 credit. My response was, "Well I rarely ever wear tuxedos and when I do again I'm not coming back here." He wouldn't even refund half of my money. He claimed that I could not prove that there was anything wrong with my shirt and vest and that he couldn't be responsible for something like the button falling of because it was on when I left the store. I don't remember the last time I was treated so poorly as a customer. The only thing that is worse quality than Nizar's merchandise is the way they do business. DO NOT USE NIZAR!!! read more
