Niu By Vikings is absolutely excellent! I don't know whether is the impeccable service or the quality of the food or the breadth of their selection or the combination of each. We had an great time at Niu By Vikings. I could not believe how much food selection there is here at Niu, Actually, its immense selection is comparable to top tier (yup, there I said it) Lav Vegas buffets. I am thinking Wicked Spoon @ Cosmo, The Buffet @ Belagio, and other similar buffets. I have forgotten the names, but I loved their Japanese pork belly bbq skewers and Lechon belly. Their prime rib isn't bad as well. There dessert selection is also immense and delicious as well. White chocolate fountain, um yeah! I haven't seen that before I do immensely love anything white chocolate. The decor, settings, and ambiance are very good as well. Oh and when you ask to grill something, they will bring it to your table when it is done, no more waiting. Overall, I would rate Niu a solid 4 stars. So why five? Two words: FREE ALCOHOL Yup, free local beer on tap. Free one-buck-Chuck equivalent wine. Being based in the States, it is unfathomable for me to see any establishment here offering unlimited amounts of beer/wine. Seeing unlimited San Miguel beer flowing is a two big thumbs up form me. (Although I only had two glasses since I was still mainly interested in eating.)

I'm giving it a 3 because of the pic I took. Don't get me wrong. The food is top notch for an AYCE buffet. There are great flavored dishes from all over that the cooks excel at, but this is why i am giving a 3. A child threw up on the way to the bathroom leaving a long trail that obstructed traffic. It took service more than five minutes to clean up the vomit trail. So I'm sitting there, eating, while this puddle of puke sits there. I'm not a person who gets grossed out easily, but for the safety and sanitation for other patrons, I think five plus minutes was excessive to clean up THAT type of mess. I still recommend Niu. I love the food. So if you're at SM Aura, please eat there! They might want to beef up clean up staff just a little though.

JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL. TAKE EVERY SINGLE STAR!!! Niu is the best buffet of ALL time... well at least for me, here in Manila. Vikings is arguably the most popular buffet chain in the Philippines and for good reason. Starting at P700 (almost $15 USD), you have a solid selection of diverse food at your unlimited disposal. HOWEVER, NIU IS ON ANOTHER LEVEL. Everything from the food to the desserts to the service to the decor is just of the highest quality. The diversity of foods offered are just prepared and served with such presentation. Without any exaggeration, the food is displayed magnificently. Quality desserts such as gelato and macarons are offered. There is also unlimited beer and wine, as well, in addition to the unlimited juices that Vikings also carries (try the Cucumber Melon and Wintermelon juices and thank me later). If you're going to spend ANY special occasion anywhere, it should be here. Aside from the visually stunning and high end decor, the service is impeccable. You can tell customer service is of utmost importance. May I also say that I ate here on the actual day of my birthday with my mother and my meal was FREE. We only had to pay for her meal, which was P1300. Although it's an actual birthday promo, eating that well for free felt illegal. No, I have not been to Spiral yet and I still don't care what you say. For its value of starting at almost P1000, Niu is still the best buffet in Manila. Worth every centavo.

so much food

Come hungry, leave happy. Coming to town I've definitely heard all the hype of this place. It's definitely lived up to my expectations. At times the weight can be a little bit long depending on whether you come here on peak hours or off hours. Either way the food seem to be pretty fresh coming there at an off hour, And unlike going to other buffets this place always replenishes the food and doesn't leave you scraping for scraps. The massive selection, huge long buffet line offerings extend the entire length of the building. I love the fact that you can also serve yourself with regards to drinks and dessert.

Was super stoked to try this place out when I got to the Philippines. Honestly, it was a let down for me. I guess I just had high expectations. They had an impressive spread, but there was nothing that blew my tastebuds away. I liked their unlimited alcohol, esp the wine!! But unfortunately we came here for early lunch and had a whole day planned out that I really couldn't take advantage of it. Dessert spread looked so yummy but didn't taste as good as it looked. I liked that they had a special moment for all birthdays in the room & they also eat free with I.d. It's def a luxury buffet and way more expensive than a typical meal in the Philippines but cool experience! I do loveee their plates with different sections def helps with going around and trying different dishes without them touching!

Going Crazy at Buffet 101…read more I'm a woman with a crazy big appetite. Eating at buffet restaurants that are filled with exciting and palatable dishes really delights me. That is why I was so ecstatic when we had the chance to dine at the Buffet 101 in Glorietta. Upon making a reservation via phone, we were told that Buffet 101 will serve lunch from 11AM to 2PM. We got there several minutes before opening and we waited by the door with a bunch of other people who are equally eager to sample the variety of cuisines that the restaurant offers. Not long after, each group where ushered to our designated tables. We immediately requested for a high chair for our little one. I have been to another luxury buffet restaurant but Buffet 101 is a totally different experience. Being a fan of the California Maki, I was over the moon when I saw other similar rolls and at once, I took one of each and was so happy that I was not disappointed with how they tasted. I also had a serving of the king prawn and was so relieved that it did not trigger my food allergy. That could only mean that prawn was really fresh. I also took a sampler of various native Pinoy kakanin and they were good. I had a slice of flavourful thin-crust pizza, potato salad with beets, some pasta (which was actually my toddler's untouched serving haha), a glass of freshly squeezed mango juice, a glass of buko shake, a few sips of red wine, a few pieces of biscotti and some of the cookies at the dessert section and finally, a cup of coffee. I think I have missed a few items on this list. I forgot about some of the food that I had because I was busy eating and attending to my son and had no time to take pictures each time I get a new plateful of food. I told you, I have a crazy big appetite! I would definitely go back to Buffet 101 with my fellow buffet enthusiast, aka The Husband. They serve fresh and always warm dishes of varying cuisines. They have a wide array of selections which is why you need to have a strategy on how to savor each of them in three hours. They have plenty of fresh fruits available for juicing. The dining area is squeaky clean and I haven't notice flying insects. The restrooms are clean and smell good, too. Cost per head is a bit pricey. One has to shell out Php699 for lunch Php950 for dinner on weekdays. On weekends, lunch costs Php799 while dinner costs Php1050. If you want to dine in for free on your birthday, you need to be in a group with at least four full-paying guests. Anyway, you will surely get more than what you pay for as you will be treated to a whole new level of gastronomic experience.

IS BUFFET 101 AT GLORIETTA 2, MAKATI CITY WORTH IT FOR ₱1,000+ PER PERSON?…read more My Birthday Celebration Experience at Buffet 101 - October 9, 2026 If you want to know what my experience was like today, October 9, 2026, please read my review before deciding to celebrate your birthday at Buffet 101. There were three of us, so we were unable to avail ourselves of the birthday promo offering one free diner for every three paying customers. At around 5:00 PM, when we arrived at the entrance, I informed the staff that it was my birthday month and asked what other birthday promos they offered aside from the 3+1 promo. I was told that they could prepare a small cake with a birthday dedication and that there would be a birthday performance. Naturally, I expected to receive these birthday treats. After we were seated, I asked one of the female staff members if I could request a birthday dance. She said yes. I then asked why our table was not marked on the checklist for a birthday celebration. She explained that the birthday performance was only part of a promo. She also said they would just prepare a cake with a dedication for me. Since I had already requested the birthday performance, I expected the performers to visit our table. However, they went around the entire dining area without stopping at our table. We started wondering why they had not come to us. At around 8:30 PM, when we were preparing to leave and pay our bill, I approached the staff member again and asked why the performers had not visited our table. I had already made my request before entering the establishment and even showed my ID as proof that it was my birthday month. I asked to speak with the manager, but I was told that the manager was unavailable, so the supervisor was called instead. I asked the supervisor to sit beside me so I could explain what had happened. She asked if I still wanted the performers to come to our table. I told her, "No, thank you. I'm already disappointed." From the beginning, I had informed the staff about my birthday and made my request. I had no problem with them singing or dancing for me. In fact, this was my first time celebrating my birthday at Buffet 101, and I was looking forward to the experience. Unfortunately, it turned into a disappointing one. What disappointed me even more was when the supervisor asked which staff member I had spoken to. I pointed out the employee I had approached earlier. The staff member then said she thought I was joking. I asked her, "Do you really think I was joking?" She answered yes because I was smiling. So, does this mean that whenever we speak to your staff, we must have a serious expression on our faces for our requests to be taken seriously? Does smiling mean that we are not serious about what we are saying? The staff member then told me that they had already prepared a cake for me. My goodness! Preparing a birthday cake is one thing, but what about the birthday performance that I had specifically requested? If your establishment offers birthday treats, shouldn't the staff make sure that all the details are properly communicated and coordinated? ATTENTION, MANAGEMENT! Please improve your system and coordination. From the moment guests arrive at the entrance, their birthday celebrations, requests, and inquiries should be properly verified and communicated to the concerned staff. Teamwork is important, especially when handling special occasions. Instead of pointing fingers or blaming one another, the staff should work together to ensure that guests receive the service they were promised. I also noticed that the restroom was not well-maintained and poorly ventilated. It was hot and uncomfortable. Additionally, the replenishment of food at the buffet was slow, and some dishes were already empty while we were waiting for them to be refilled. For a dining experience costing over ₱1,000 per person, I expected better service, proper coordination, a comfortable environment, and timely food replenishment. This was my first birthday celebration at Buffet 101, and sadly, it left me disappointed. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary improvements so that other customers will not have the same experience. A birthday celebration should be a happy and memorable occasion, not an experience that leaves customers feeling ignored and disappointed. BAD EXPERIENCE. PLEASE TAKE NOTE, BUFFET 101 MANAGEMENT!

Circles Event Café -- a buffet experience that spoiled me (in the best way)…read more I had a true five-star experience at Circles Event Café inside the Makati Shangri-La, and I don't say that lightly. The experience was so consistently excellent that I ate here five days in a row--something I've never done at any other restaurant. Dinner was outstanding. I tried a wide variety of sushi (fresh, well-balanced, and properly chilled), carved beef roast that was tender and flavorful, and tandoori fish and chicken that were perfectly spiced--aromatic, moist, and clearly handled by cooks who know what they're doing. This wasn't "buffet good"; it was legitimately good food that just happened to be part of a buffet. The dessert and fruit options were just as impressive. The gelato was smooth and rich, and the dragon fruit was so fresh and abundant that I kept going back for more--clean, bright, and refreshing after a heavy plate. Breakfast deserves its own mention. I ate a mountain of crispy bacon paired with an equal amount of perfectly cooked sunny-side-up eggs, plus potatoes. Everything was hot, replenished constantly, and cooked exactly how you'd want it--simple food executed flawlessly. What truly sets Circles apart, though, is the service. This is hands-down the best customer service I've ever experienced at a buffet. The staff are attentive without hovering, genuinely warm, and incredibly efficient. Plates disappear quickly, drinks are refilled without asking, and every interaction feels polished yet sincere. The ambience matches the food and service--elegant, calm, and upscale without feeling stuffy. It's the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy the experience, whether you're there for a long dinner or starting your day with breakfast. Bottom line: Circles Event Café isn't just a hotel buffet--it's a world-class dining experience. If you're in Makati and want variety, quality, and exceptional service all in one place, this is absolutely worth it. I'd go back again without hesitation.

Escolta at The Peninsula Manila: Buffet Review by Tina…read more I recently tried Escolta, the buffet restaurant inside The Peninsula Manila. It's positioned as a Filipino buffet, but the selection felt more international with random touches. What's on the buffet: * Filipino dishes: mahi-mahi, grilled seafood, classic viands * Japanese corner: sushi, maki, katsudon * Grill station: you can ask them to grill seafood or meat * Carving station: they serve lamb and other roasts * Desserts: wide selection of native delicacies like maja blanca, plus sorbets and ice cream (even soba ice cream) * Bread and cheese are also available, but nothing stood out Price: * I couldn't confirm the exact buffet rate, but it's somewhere around ₱3,500-₱4,500 per head. You can check their current rates online or via the hotel concierge. Ambience and service: * Elegant hotel setting as expected * Staff are very attentive and polite * Quiet, well-maintained dining space, not too crowded when I went My verdict: * The variety felt a bit confused. It says Filipino buffet, but the highlight was the Japanese and grill stations * Food was decent, but not something I'd personally pay over ₱4,000 for * Would I go back? Only if I'm treated or attending a special occasion * For the price, there are better buffet experiences in Manila (Circles in Shang mkt , The Alley at Conrad, or even Nobu brunch)

It was nice that our room included a free breakfast buffet. I started off the breakfast buffet with a nice strong cup of coffee. I needed something to wake me up, after having a food coma from their dinner buffet the night before. I thoroughly enjoyed the Filipino breakfast dishes. My husband was happy that they had bagels with smoked salmon and cream cheese. I happen to love tocino, and I immediately gravitated toward that choice. I tried the two different types of longanisa, but I enjoyed the tocino more. The danggit (small fried fish) was salty and crispy. The spicy vinegar helped in toning down the saltiness of the danggit. Although there were Japanese, Chinese, and Mediterranean breakfast dishes, I just couldn't resist the tocino. I thought that I was finished eating breakfast by ending it with fresh fruit, but someone that was sitting next to us had taho. I ended my breakfastwith taho (silken tofu with arrival and sago). I previously mentioned that I had their dinner buffet, but I spent most of my time enjoying the Peking duck, tempura, sashimi, and sushi. My husband on the other hand enjoyed a little bit of everything. He had a couple different types of soup. He tried everything at the carving station. He had a chef cooking shrimp and steak on the grill. He made a couple trips to the sashimi and sushi station. I was very surprised to see him with numerous desserts. That's usually me! I ended my dinner with an affogato (two scoops of Davao dark chocolate gelato with a shot of espresso). We're planning to celebrate my husband's birthday dinner here.

If I remember correctly, we ate there twice both days 2/16 & 2/17 and it was wonderful. We loved the first time we had breakfast there and came back the next morning before we had to fly out to Boracay. I've been to a lot of breakfast buffets in the US and both the food quality and service from the employees working here can't even compare. Kate (Katie?) and Mono were on top of everything and seem to know right away if we needed any assistance of any question. I merely stood by the egg station for a few seconds waiting to be helped and Mono saw me, walked over right away and got someone to help me from over the counter so I wouldn't have to wait long. Lots of warm smiles and the employees working during the times we dined. They seem to have the genuine drive and initiative to make sure every guest is taken care of and antennas are raised to help guests at a moments notice. Food quality was also high for a buffet. With some vegetables sourced from Baguio, several selections of freshly juiced fruits/vegetables and quality sourced ingredients from all over Philippines. It was not your usual breakfast buffet spread. I would not hesitate to dine there again for breakfast and would want to try their lunch/dinner buffet if the experience will still be the same. Clean, 5-star service and food quality, it's def one of my top picks for breakfast.
